You can get a sponsorship letter from someone resident in Germany. That person needs to go to the alien office to fill a form or something like that. Then they have to send you an original copy of the form. Then you can use that as a proof of finance

I had my interview on the 2nd, and sent DB confirmation on the 9th. Thats less than 3weeks ago.

I am looking at next week or first week of september.

That's also fine but in the sponsorship letter they have to state the amount ; at least 8640 either to be paid in lump sum or to be paid in a monthly installment of 720 euros. Is the scholarship for 2 years or 1 year

I don't know anyone who has. However, since they requested it specifically, you should go to your secondary school and request for your transcript - your results from SS1 - 3. American schools usually request for high school transcript, this is the first time I'm seeing a German school do so. Also, they don't refer to your WAEC/NECO result because they requested for that separately (University Entrance Examination)

The confirmation came in this morning. It was my boyfriend who deposited the money. I don't know why it took 2 weeks though

Just sharing information anyone would find helpful.

Sent my Bank documents to DB on the 4th, they received on the 7th, on the 15th I got a rejection email because I left the tax component empty.

Please if you are unsure of your TIN (Tax Identification Number), just fill in your passport number. I resent the documents and I got my account details on the 27th.

Then I funded on the 4th of August and got a deposit confirmation on the 18th of August. I have sent my confirmation to the embassy and awaiting the results.

All the best to everyone. If you are still in the process of filling DB forms please do it well. You cant afford any delays at this point. Make sure the account statement you attach has at least the minimum amount=8640.

Also if the money will not be transferred by you, state the person in the form and attache their bank statement.

If you have multiple sources, please state them and add all the account statements. A lot of people are getting rejections because of this.

If you have a scholarship, please insist that the scholarship letter states the amount (at least 8640).

there are only 3 ways for finance proof.
1- Open a blocked account with deutsch bank and block the sum of 8790€, monthly withdrawal limit of 720€
2- Letter of sponsorship from someone residing and working legally in Germany, the alien office of the person's city would only grant a go ahead if his/her salary is above 2500€ monthly after taxes.
3-Scholarship from an European /German body alone e.g Daad scholarship et al.

your NDDC scholarship letter won't do anything, dem go jst dey look you for embassy like dis ,
Only way to prolly gain from it, is if the scholarship body tranfers the required blocked account fee to your DB acct after opening. or if dey have any partnership with an European body and transfer it to dem..

I went for an introductory session with DAAD and they said you can use a letter from a scholarship body but the organisation has to be credible and also a representative must be present if possible
