3.81/5.00 cannot be equivalent to 3.86/4.00. You may re-calculate same using the free WES evaluation tool.
My GPA was 3.81/4.00 Caveat: My school operates on a 4 point scale.

Good afternoon house, please can I use my WAEC certificate (score in English language) as proof that I'm a native speaker/English is my first language.

P.S : I can't afford TOEFL for now
My profile : CGPA 3.86 (after conversion)
Aim: PHD Computational Statistics and Machine learning or Biostatistics
BSc : Statistics
Are you taking the GRE exam? Since your school uses a 4.0 scale then why the after conversion?

You should widen your options to schools in Texas as well..try UTD,UTA and submit your application as early as you can. You should get funding with your profile for EE. Hope your LoRs and statement are really good too.
Another thing that can help your application is also to contact professors who's research work align with what you want, and then email them about your interest. Give them a call if you can. You should have read few of their papers before doing this, or they might not even reply your email.

Thanks alot bro! with dollar @420 options quickly trickle down but I WILL start my research ASAP

I just read where you said it's for PhD. You should expect such because phd in stem comes with lot of funding and as such, the admission is highly competitive. Those that told you no funding had already given it to the best applicants. Keep on searching, you will still get yours.

Thanks Bro!!! If I cross border I go carry roasted yam come give madam on your behalf..... grin

Typically if you are buying from a dealer, they get the registration and inspection done before sale and you don't have to worry about it until renewal. A lot of private sellers do it too..that being said, the DMV website has the requirements if you have to do it yourself

Just google the name and you can see links to his/her profile. That should have links to free copies of papers and journals. Use google scholar as well.

You can sign up on research gate using your school mail addy.
Then you can request for free copies of their journals.
I have this prof ive been looking forward to working with her but she was on vacation and I couldn't get her journals for free.
I requested a copy from her through researchgate and she sent it to me.
Now everything looks easy.
So you may also try it

No, that's not what I mean. I don't know if 3rd class makes it easier or harder to get UG admission. I don't think there's a general rule for this. I mean it was harder for my friend to get Graduate admission. He was applying for Master's programs but they all rejected him (Again, maybe he searched the wrong places. some schools could have offered him conditional admission... I don't know and I can't guess). Only one school offered him UG admission and they told him his scores were too low for Graduate admission. They further explained that even his Toefl was low but they were admitting him because he had a foundation in the discipline due to his time in Unilag and they were giving him a chance. This boy na rich man pikin o, his parents were willing to sponsor him to Uzbekistan sef if to say na wetin him want as in... money no be problem. He's telling me how he's soon going to start playing for his school's basketball team.

Again, don't say sureb0y made you go ahead with anything ooooo... it's just my advice. Seek other opinions and look up more information similar to your case online and decide what you think is best for you. I just know it's doable sha. cheesy cheesy cheesy

Sure boy. Text me your name. My number is 347-414-3159

I don't understand what you mean here but if you were talking about "my over self righteous way", then I don't think I owe you any apology cheesy cheesy cheesy I once wrote about how kind and nice people are in this city. I wrote about how I initially thought they were pretending and faking it all cos I wasn't used to that kind of stuff... now fast forward, I have made a decision to try my best to be nice and kind too. If it's sometimes uncomfortable for me, I will either be nice or just do nothing instead of saying something worse or making someone feel bad. I have suggested this method, not enforced it.

I'll give you an example, I didn't know how to use a washing machine, dryer, their kind of toaster here, etc. I asked my friends yesterday, they smiled and told me all about it in the nicest way possible. Imagine an answer like: What? as old as you are, you can't use a washing Machine? OR something more embarrassing. It could have an effect and make me not want to ask any other questions. You might not know the meaning/effect of genuine kindness and how far it's going to take people in life. Despite all I know, I could make a long list of the most stupid questions I have asked people here and how they have answered me and helped. Without their kindness I would have been lost. After every good deed, I made sure I said thank you in the sincerest way.

I was on skype with a friend of mine in Nigeria yesterday. I unconsciously said something and she said I was forming because I'm now in Yankee. That I was forming accent and trying to oppress her, I should sit down in one place because I'm not the first to travel. I just laughed at her mindset. I didn't even know my accent changed when I said the thing until she drew my attention to it. To those people with this kind of "hating" mindset, I just feel sorry for you. I repeat myself so many times that I have to even make gestures with my hands, spell, or write for these white people to understand me here. It's simple... if you don't try to speak like them, they won't understand you. One guy introduced himself: "Hi, I'm Hunter". omo, I said "ehn?" like 8 times and I didn't even understand him until he spelled it. I also asked another guy for "Water", It was until I wrote it on paper that he understood what I was saying. As they say: fake it till you get it.

We need to open our minds in order to progress. If I start, I won't finish. I'll just let it slide. Some Nigerians will see ordinary car as luxury when it's a necessity, upload a picture of yourself/you and your friends in a restaurant trying something new, they'll say you're being proud, showing off and a bucketload of other nonsense. You'll see people hating on others for trying to change their pronunciation and accent... something they need in order to survive here or anywhere else. It's just a shame.

If me suggesting kindness and open-mindedness dey vex you, lol. O ga gan. You don't know who's on the other side of the computer. Some people will come here to ask questions, you don't know how old they are, their status and level and what they can do for you in future, You carry hand and write nonsense to them and then when you meet in future in this small world and they show you shege, you will cry foul. I'll keep writing about my experience and suggestions cheesy cheesy cheesy Those who like it, like it. Those who do not, do not.
I love you already lol

Good morning house, please I need all the help I can get.......

I am confused right now and I should have probably seek this help earlier, however, I will....
My husband is schooling in the US (we got married July this year), his expected graduation date is May 2017. We had planned that I will join him this year fall, hence, I applied and got admission and partial funding to his school (we would be able to afford the rest). However, we became confused if we would like to stay in the US or Nigeria and since leaving means I have to resign, we decided to defer till Fall 2017 and we did.

However, I applied for a B2 visa to visit him in December and this was denied. My worry now is can I still apply for F1 next year? or what will the good people of NL advise I do?

You should have applied for F2 and not B2 .. Blc if at the interview you say you are going to visit your husband or anything relating to your husband , I am sure the VO will ask why not f2 and not b2 .......

However to answer your question, People get denied everyday and reapply and get it . Most time it has little impact on your next application. You just have to demonstrate that you are a credible student for your F1 and possible home ties .....Once you can articulate that then you are fine and good to go .

Lagosismyhome, u be winch?...lol. Yes, the VO asked why B2 and not F2. But honestly, we thought about F2 but i just want to visit for like 2-3 weeks and considering the requirements for F2, it made no sense.

Speaking of ties, by the time I apply for F1, my husband will still be there....

@winch .....lol . Its actually expected because you applied on the wrong Category

At second bold........Yes this will be tricky but prepare for that question and think of very clever ways to articulate it . .A prepared hurdle is half way climbed ...Or pray that this question doesnt come up because it might or might not . The key would be to make the interview about "you" and your need for school and not about us and our school plans but still plan if "us" becomes the focus

Are you a student or aspiring exporter grin ..... moderation biko. . Most airlines have 23kg limit per bag and 2 bags . Anything outside of that you pay.

While u can carry a sack if u want as long as it within the 23kg.. custom is naija will hassle u to drop something for them or they wont release u . Also u can get to POE and the quantity will raise eye brows and bring unnecessary spotlight. They can even bin some so i would say do it in moderation. two full paper bags yes but sack... hummmmm take it easy.

Let your first travel be hassle free and spotlight free after u nolonger JJC i fit carry 2 sacks self .. for other restrictions yes there are on some items. Check google
