[quote author=Intendy post=50822828]anybody who as money there should seek SEC connection to bring it out. this non access to your fund is very surprising like Mpeace said. too bad for their clients with cash and tanking portfolio[/qu Thank God I was fast enough to pull out my cash, as if I new! I just have stocks left which in reality is in custody of cscs. This has taught me two things: To go for institutional stock brokers and To use direct cash settlement system! |

Goodmorning bnsiTL, Goodday and Goodweek. Please let a member in the VI area pay a fact-finding visit to SEC office over the morgancapital case. Mission is to find out the true nature of the problem and if resolution is anywhere in sight. The office is off Adeola Odeku St, near Mike Adenuga's bullish tower. You may need to deploy your monkey trading skills to get past the security and inquiry desks to see the person handling the case, or you could be sent back to go and petition SEC officially. I'm not currently located in lagos or I would have long done this. Good luck. |

zendi:MC will get over it. I know they will resolve the matter amicably. The only problem is that of their customers' investment which is diminishing on a daily basis. Let us note that MC itself has stocks they should have sold immediately if not for the suspension. |

fulfillment2020:I believe anybody now selling eterna under 5 is throwing gold away. Not just the size of the corporate action but the symbolism of the act. It's directors have broken their 'chop-alone' mentality. Add to the conciseness of its OS and the bullishness of the oil downsteam sector, and even 10 is not a medium term impossibility. But I could be missing some unknowns, so, buyer beware. |

The increasingly declining value of the naira has triggered an over 200 per cent increase in prices of goods in Dubai markets prompting many Nigerians to pay more for goods purchased in the Arab country. Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), has been a foremost trading and holiday destination for many Nigerians but the value of the naira is now making the place a no-go area for many of them. Earlier, in the year 2016, a US dollar was between N310-N300 at the parallel market but at the moment, it is over N450. This has constrained many traders and even shoppers who were used to going to Dubai as prices of goods have now skyrocketed. Our correspondent who visited some malls and markets in Dubai reports that though the prices of goods may be relatively moderate but they are on the high side when converted to the naira. The Dirham, which is the official currency of the UAE, is equivalent to N145 and 3.6 dollars. For instance at an Aldo store inside Dubai Mall, a ladies pair of shoes that costs 275 dirhams is equivalent to N38,400 or about 85 dollars. Some pairs of male slippers priced at the same Aldo store cost between 75 to 225 dirhams while at a perfumery visited by our correspondent, an average perfume goes for 450 dirhams or N65,000 or more. “Ordinarily the prices are not that outrageous given the quality of what you buy here but for the value of the naira that has gone to a ridiculously low level. That is why it is not accepted at the international market. Imagine the dollar which used to be N195 but is now exchanges for over N400,” said Mrs. Grace Akpan, a business woman. Irriz Pamela, an attendant at one of the stores in Dubai Mall, said their products are not over priced as some people insinuate. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/business/naira-devaluation-keeps-nigerians-off-dubai-markets/170474.html |

About FCMB, unlike what has being said on this forum previously, since last year they've been auditing their Q3 (i.e. the Bank not the group), so that decision didn't start with this year. They intend to capitalize some of their earnings after the release of the Q3 audit in order to improve their CAR which is considerably low at about 15%. I'm not fully sure, but it probably means a part of their Total Comprehensive Income or a part of their profits will be converted to Tier 1 cap as retained earnings - I hope someone learned can provide provide clarification here So interim dividend may not follow the audit (as usual), but 'capitalization of earnings' will. This - I think - effectively reduces the EPS They still intend to raise tier 2 cap of about N10B to N15B; the audit will probably determine this. They are still expecting a much better result y-o-y despite an expected increase in NPLs (unlike FBNH that's seeing a decline in profits with increase in NPL) |

Primetech:Not holding brief for MC here, and you have actually done well in trying to reach MC, via the customer care number. I was able to reach MC by phone as i have some cash in my account. I clearly said i understand not being able to trade my shares but can't see why my fund which is supposed to be in a bank account is stuck. The officer explained that they had meeting with the NSE on friday and more regulatory demands came from NSE, which they are quickly working on and that the accounts tied to the NSE trading platform was placed under (can't remember the term now) lock. I asked that we need not call before we get updates on the progress being made at being operational with the NSE again. We need to follow-up till things are resolved. |

I called Morgan capital today, to know when they are coming back with their platform, one of their customer care officer who pick my call told me that he don't know when they are coming back, that their meeting with NSE last Friday was not positive. He said, its only NSE who has the final say on when they will come back. He also maintains that, they are working towards the demands of NSE in order to come back. I thank God, I just withdraw all the cash I have with them two days before their suspension, but I still have my stocks with them. I pray that their next meeting with NSE will be a positive one. Let the NSE lift up their suspension, so that they can continue with their business. |
