You think Spurs will bench Kane for Iheanacho.
No, but at least Pochettino won't wait for Kane to burn out before playing Kelechi and he certainly won't have a run of 5 games without getting fielded

Iheanacho should leave working with Guardiola and work with Puel? Na wa.
Claude Puel is renouned in France for moulding young talents and getting the best of them.
He worked with a young Thierry Henry while at Monaco.
Infact, Henry's signature goal, where he opens up his body, cuts in from the left and finishing at the top corner was a move developed by Puel while working extra training sessions with Henry.
This move is also visible in other players like Benzema and Harzard who Puel developed.
Maybe you need to read what Henry said a about him in an interview.
Puel is also known for moulding talents like David Trazeguet, Yohan Cabaye, Henry Lacazette, Abidal, Ben Arfa etc etc...

The man knows his onions working with young players, that you don't know Claude Puel doesn't mean others don't recognise his work. Iheanacho will develop under a guy like Claude Puel. Don't look down on him because he's not a bling bling check book manager.

Your words:

"Nigeria hasn't had this type of talent In a while so they Need to Hype him well."

At Nacho's age in recent years you wanna tell me, Nigeria didnt have young super talents like Obafemi Martins?? No need to name another.... Coz they are several.
Seems you started following football in 2013!!!

Mehn... Your ignorant remark is so nauseating and you still stand by it. *smh*

Check book manager? Please, how much did he sign Messi, Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi?
He spent close to 100m on Ibrahimovic. Infact, from 2008 till date, he has spent half a billion euros on player purchase. He's a proper check book manager.

I follow Dailymail, MEN, Telegraph, Skysports, Metro UK and many others,

Is Daily mail ratings the only ratings u know?? Is 5 not average?? This dude keep saying bollocks.

Mirror ratings had Nacho at 6.

MEN had him at 5.

So stop trying so hard to defend your definition of "poor" coz your analysis-meter must be so bad for Nacho to have been poor in that game. He was average and his high-pressing and movements were good/near excellent.

Imagine saying Nacho was poor in a game City fielded their a very weak side against Utd's first XI. That's not an excuse but exactly what happened and pundits in England picked up on it.

princesuko:

If you follow daily Mail Ratings like i do, you will know that 5 Is the Lowest. I follow City too because of Pep so i know what am saying.

Claude Puel's current work with Nathan Redmond is very very good and interesting.

Puel is a fantastic talents-moulding manager/coach.

Look, Sir GoodJoe, I have already said it before in my long epistle on this matter. I LIKE GUARDIOLA'S WORK WITH YOUNG PLAYERS LIKE NACHO BUT I DONT TRUST HIM WHEN IT COMES TO PLAYING TIME FOR NACHO.

PEP GUARDIOLA IS NOT THE ONLY FANTASTIC TALENTS-MOULDING COACH AROUND.

There's Mauricio Pochettino also and a few more.... The only difference is they unlike Guardiola will give Nacho playing time as he develops on the training ground also.

And WHAT THE HECK IS PEP PLANNING BY WANTING TO BRING ANOTHER BIG NAME PLAYER WORTH MILLIONS OF EUROS OR POUNDS TO THE ETIHAD?? IS GABRIEL JESUS NOT ENOUHH PILL TO SWALLOW?

He still wants Neymar? Messi? When a Nacho is there to focus all his energy on and a Gabriel to join in january?? I asked this same question few pages back and I ask it again... WHAT'S WRONG WITH PEP??

Man City Keeping Close Tabs On Enterprising Nigerian Forward Dennis Bonaventure Dubbed ” Nigerian Neymar”

Following the success of Kelechi Iheanacho at Manchester City, the Etihad based outfit could yet add another Nigerian to their squad, going by reports gathered by the editorial staff of Owngoalnigeria.com.

Scouts from English Premiership giants Manchester City were in the stands when Zorya took on Stal Kamianske in a Ukraine Premier League game, with Nigerian 18 year old forward Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure starting for Zorya.

The 18 year old is reportedly one of the players scouts of Manchester City came to watch alongside other players, as the winners of the Manchester derby step up their transfer activity in the country where one of their latest signing Oleksandr Zinchenko comes from.

Infront of the scouts of Manchester City, Bonaventure was on for 72 minute before he was substituted for Denys Bezborodko in the game that ended 2-2. A product of Football Academy Abuja, he is nicknamed Neymar due to his similar hairstyle with that of the Barcelona Brazilian super star.

So far he has made four appearances for Zorya, in what is his first full season as a professional footballer. He also has one goal to his name and one caution picked up due to excessive celebration after scoring in the league opener on his professional debut.

The amount of talents coming out of Abuja academy is pleasant surprise, almost all their exports have sick quality...that academy is going places with their training facilities and experienced coaching....I even heard they beat real Madrid in a youth cup final...our football is going to incredible heights if we can have such excellent academies in nigeria.

People want Iheanacho to leave a coach who spent a long time on the training pitch with Eto'o, Villa, Messi, Lewandowski, Muller and Henry to work with Puel. Kai.
All the players you mentioned were already established, well decorated international stars before ever meeting Guardiola.
Eto= already an African and La liga legend before ever meeting Guardiola.
Messi = best young player in the world by a distance and top 3-5 best player in the world before Guardiola took over. If anything, Frank Rijkaard will be credited for bringing Messi to limelight.
Muller = already a top top player for club and country before he met Guardiola. He broke all sorts of record for Germany in SA 2010 and a champions league winner before Guardiola. He infact he regressed abit under Guardiola.
David Villa = Already attained a legendary status with Valencia and Spanish national team before he ever met Guardiola. Captianed Valencia atleast 2 seasons before joining Barca.
Thierry Henry = ( you can fill in the gaps yourself)

lewandoski = Already an established and renouned goal poacher in the Bundesliga and champions league with Dortmond. He was a proper world class player before he ever met Guardiola

Yes oooo... Abuja football college/academy is really churning out a lot of quality young starlets. From Sadiq Umar (Bologna... On loan from Roma) to to Nura Abdullahi (Roma) to Franklyn Akammadu (Cesena) to Okonkwo Orji (Bologna) to Kingsley Michael (Monaco) and another Kingsley Michael (of Amuneke's U-17/U-20 side who will soon seal a deal to europe), etc... Etc.. Etc...

Info from the Youths/Cadet talents/players thread by Sir Joseph1013 will show you much more. smiley

And you're correct, they beat Real Madrid's youth team (U-18) 3-1 in the final of a prestigious youth tournament in Europe earlier this year (couple of months ago).

A certain Suleiman Abdullahi was top scorer with about 7goals and best player also. He scored two against Madrid in the final and links of him to madrid castilla havent gone away since. He's now at Spezia of Italy I believe. smiley

NFF secures Senegal test for Eagles

Super Eagles players

The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed
that it has secured international friendlies with
top African sides to help prepare the Super Eagles for the remaining 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles are currently top of Group B of the Africa zone of the qualifiers but will not be
part of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The NFF has swiftly moved to arrange friendlies that will help test the team’s readiness for the qualifiers.

Nigeria will now face two African sides before the qualifiers resume in August when they will face Cameroon.

Cameroon, Zambia and Algeria stand in the way
of Nigeria making a third successive World Cup
appearance, a feat, the NFF wants to achieve
hence the move to secure the friendly games.

NFF supremo Amaju Pinnick has confirmed his
board has secured a friendly with Africa’s top
side, the Teranga Lions of Senegal and are looking to tie up another friendly with the Ivory Coast.

Senegal are currently the number one ranked
team in Africa while the Ivory Coast are the
defending Africa Cup of Nations champions.

NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire told supersport.com that the friendlies are scheduled
for the March 2017 Fifa window with London the
proposed venue.

“I can confirm that the Senegal deal has been sealed and we will be playing the Teranga Lions in London next March,” he said.

“We are also working on securing another friendly with the Ivory Coast and hopefully that game will also see the light of day."

The proposed friendly against Egypt in Dubai in
January is also in doubt as negotiations have
apparently broken down between the two sides
and barring any last minute adjustments, the test game against the Pharaohs might be called off.

Nigeria have amassed maximum points from two games to sit atop Group B of the World Cup
qualifiers, four ahead of Cameroon, who are in
second place. Zambia are third while Algeria are
bottom of the log.

........................................................................

EXCLUSIVE: Ivory Coast Demand Eagles Top
Stars As Condition For March Friendly

The Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire have threatened to pull out of the planned friendly game with
Nigeria, unless they get assurances from the
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that Nigeria will parade her top stars.

In preparations for their World Cup 2018
qualifiers against Cameroon next year, Nigeria are locked in talks with the Ivory Coast over a friendly game planned for London.

However Ivory Coast FA has made it clear to the
NFF that if they can’t guarantee the availability of the top stars of the Super Eagles then the tie
won’t hold as planned.

In March Nigeria are expected to be gearing up
for their AFCON 2019 qualifiers, which could
mean that foreign players are exempted from the friendly tie in London.

Feelers from the NFF has it that coach Gernot
Rohr has been told to brief the players about the
recent development, which from all indication
won’t be an issue due to the respect he
commands from the players.

It will affect where we shall stand rankings-wise depending on the performance index of the teams competing at the AFCON.

Teams like Algeria, Senegal, Ghana and CIV will still lead the way if their AFCON campaign goes really well.

Other teams like Egypt, Cameroun, etc will climb or fall depending also on their AFCON performance.

Afcon teams' performance between January and february may push us off a position and see us rise a little more. It all depends on points gained and lost by the teams at the Afcon.

Right now we are joint 7th in Africa and joint 50th in the world.

So it's not about us since we won't be in action but about the teams on display. smiley

Portuguese Side Wants To Extend Alampasu’s Loan Deal Following Impressive Performances

Dele Alampasu could be set for an extended loan spell at Portuguese third division side Cesarense after impressing the team handlers of the team with his performances.

Alampasu joined the third division side on an
initial three months loan and although he is yet to keep a clean sheet, his performances have made him the first choice goalkepper since his debut two months ago.

Cesarense who are bottom of the third division
table in Portugal are keen on having the shot
stopper for the second half of the season, with his current loan arrangement set to round up after three more games.

Owners of the Nigeria international shot stopper
CD Feirense are yet to reply to their demands, but there are indications that they will agree to the request as they currently have two good
goalkeppers in their team.

Since joining Cesarense, he has played in all but
one of their game. The game he missed was due
to his involvement with the Nigeria national team as he arrived late after the World Cup 2018 qualifiers against Algeria.

Leicester City Urged To Make Etebo Top Priority In January As Move For Wilfred Ndidi Stalls Over Price

Top Israeli scout David Ouziel has urged English
Premier League champions Leicester City to move for Oghenekaro Etebo of CD Feirense in the January transfer window.

Although they are heavily linked with a move for another Nigerian in Wilfred Ndidi of Genk, Ouziel believes the N’golo Kante role which they have failed to cover up since his departure to Chelsea, can be filled by Etebo with ease.

Leicester City who are struggling to agree on a
price for Genk, could get Etebo for a lesser
amount, even though his quality has been proven by his performances in Portugal and for the Nigerian team.

Ouziel who is famed for transferring talented
Nigerian players revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com
during a chat at his recently concluded screening exercise, that three years ago he saw the potential in Etebo, who is reportedly on the wish list of several European teams.

”Three years ago, I predicted that Etebo will be a top star, to me he is the best Nigerian player not playing in a top club. He is top quality and looks like what Leicester City are lacking at the
moment” Ouziel told Owngoalnigeria.com.

”His price will be moderate but he is top quality
and will be a bargain buy for any team that end
up signing him in January, but I so badly wish he move to England, Leicester City precisely”.

Zaha's U-turn to play for CIV: Could this be
the turning point for players of Nigerian descent

By Augustine Ahkilomen

Nobody would have ever imagined that Wilfried Zaha would be changing allegiance to don the colours of the Cote d'Ivoire national team despite featuring for the Three Lions of England in two international friendly games in 2012 and
2013.

This development may come as good news to the Nigeria Football Federation considering the fact that some quality players of Nigerian descent could use this platform to have a change of thought as per representing the
Super Eagles at the highest level instead of being used as friendly materials.

Fikayo Tomori

The Crystal Palace winger who
was touted to become a super
star immediately he joined the
star studded Manchester United squad, had the dream of achieving great success not only with the Red Devils but also using that platform to launch
himself into the senior national
team.

Zaha, a creative, skillful and an
out and out winger, whose pace
and energy has always been a
nightmare for defenders in the English Premier League, is sure
to give the Ivorian team lots of
options at the 2017 Africa Cup of
Nations slated for Gabon and the
2018 World Cup qualifier, of
which the team are second on
the table.

The Ivory Coast Football
Federation (IFF) announced in a
statement on Sunday night:

'The
Ivorian-English attacking
midfielder Wilfried Zaha has
chosen to play for the Elephants,
under the colours of the Ivory
Coast, his country of origin.'

Perhaps, the former Manchester
United player must have looked
at the dimmed prospect of still representing England, something
that seem unrealistic before
making up his mind.

It would be recalled that the NFF
under the leadership of Amaju Pinnick has been making frantic efforts to not only lure but to convince players of Nigerian
descent who are plying their
football career in Europe to play
for the Super Eagles.

Den Haag's Tyronne Ebuehi,
Arsenal's Chuba Akpom,
Wolves' Dominic Iofa and Bournemouth's Jordan
Ibe can also follow on their
footsteps.

There is no doubt that it's the
dream of every player to play for
England, however, their chances
are slim most especially if they
don't possess that exceptional
skill that could separate them
from other fringe players.

Perhaps, if Marcus Rashford
wasn't playing for Man United, it
could be unlikely he would be
given a chance with the Three
Lions.

In the past, Nigeria have lost
players to England who are made
to play one or two competitive
games before being frozen from
the team. Such players include,
Gabriel Agbonlahor, Nedum
Onuoha
, Ugo Ehiogu, Carlton
Cole, Dele Alli **Alli is still a main stay in the three lions and will be for a long time possibly** , Ross Barkley **still relevant to England** and a
few to mention. Others playing
for different nationalities are,
Sidney Sam, Dennis Aogo,
Tiago Ilori
**still eligible for us shaa I think?** and Stefano Okaka.

In all, this could just be the
perfect time for some players of
Nigerian descent to reconsider
their decision by looking at the
prospect(s) of playing for the Super
Eagles ahead of the 2018 FIFA
World Cup in Russia.

Chelsea Congratulate Nigerian Striker On Being Named Premier League Finest

Chelsea have congratulated their wingback Victor Moses on being named the most outstanding player in the Premier League for the month of November, an award voted for by PFA Fans themselves.

Moses has excelled in his new right wing-back
position, and helped goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois post six shutouts in a row until the defense conceded against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

“The Nigerian has excelled for the Blues in our
seven-game winning streak and capped off an
excellent November by scoring the winning goal
against Tottenham on Saturday, ” Chelsea wrote
on their official website.

“He was named Man of the Match afterwards
having received the same accolade at
Middlesbrough a week earlier.

“Well done Victor! ”

Moses also impressed for his national team in
November, netting twice as the Super Eagles
beat Algeria 3-1 in a World Cup qualifier.

Who are the Premier League’s best rising
stars?

WhoScored.com have compiled their top 10 rated players aged 21 and under in the Premier League this season of those to make five or more appearances…

10) Isaac Success (Watford) – 6.66

Isaac Success was Watford’s club-record signing in the summer, yet a host of injuries have limited the Nigerian to just 188 minutes of top-flight action following his arrival. The 20-year-old has made just one league start for the Hornets, that coming in a 1-0 win at Middlesbrough, but netted a crucial equaliser from the bench in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth last month. Time is still on his
side; Success will hope that he can start the New Year on a high.

9) Alex Iwobi (Arsenal) – 6.74

The second of three Nigeria internationals in this list, Alex Iwobi began the campaign strongly for Arsenal but was an unused substitute against Manchester United and Bournemouth.

Nevertheless, no Arsenal player has registered
more league assists than Iwobi (3) this season
and he certainly has what it takes to realise his
potential, provided he can improve his consistency.

8. Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City)
6.84

With a raft of attacking talent, the future is
certainly bright for the Nigeria national team.

Kelechi Iheanacho unsurprisingly features in this list with his goalscoring record speaking for itself.

The young striker has scored 11 league goals
from just 17 shots on target since making his
debut last season, to return a stunning on-target conversion rate of 64.7% in England’s top tier.

Three goals and three assists in the EPL this season means Iheanacho has been directly involved in a league goal every 47.8 minutes in the Premier League this season.

7) Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Southampton) –
6.84

Southampton’s signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
from Bayern Munich was one of the more
intriguing of the summer with the Dane showing
plenty of potential during loan stints with
Augsburg and Schalke. While not a first-team
regular under Claude Puel, the 20-year-old
midfielder has performed admirably when called
on with an average of 71.2 passes per 90 one of
the better returns in the Premier League this
season.

6) Luke Shaw (Manchester United) – 6.93

Luke Shaw’s season has been indifferent to say
the least. After expecting to consolidate a regular starting spot for Manchester United, the England international’s career has stalled. While reaching optimum performance is easier said than done on the back of last year’s leg break, Shaw has been solid when required, gaining a WhoScored.com rating of 6.93. Manager Jose Mourinho, though, has preferred Daley Blind at left-back, and even Matteo Darmian in the league in recent weeks after criticising 21-year-old Shaw.

5) Calum Chambers (Middlesbrough) – 6.97

Calum Chambers started the season with Arsenal and played in the entertaining 4-3 home defeat to Liverpool on the opening weekend of the campaign. He’s since become a key man for
Middlesbrough at the heart of their defence,
averaging a respectable two tackles and 2.3
interceptions per game in England’s top tier this
term. 8.3 clearances per game – the most of all
Boro players – demonstrates the 21-year-old’s
proactive approach to defending.

4) Dele Alli (Tottenham) – 6.97

Dele Alli was one of the breakthrough stars in the Premier League last season as the 20-year-old scored 10 and assisted a further nine as

Tottenham secured a return to the Champions
League. Alli, though, has struggled to match the
heights in his second campaign, with his
WhoScored.com rating dropping from 7.35 to
6.97. Nevertheless, his rating still places him in
the top five youngsters in the Premier League.

3) Hector Bellerin (Arsenal) – 7.07

Crossing the north London divide, Hector Bellerin unsurprisingly features given his good form prior to injury for Arsenal. The young Spaniard, who recently penned a new deal at the Emirates, is widely considered one of the best right-backs in the Premier League and for good reason. Only a handful of defenders have completed more dribbles than the 21-year-old (19), who has earned a WhoScored.com rating of 7.07 (so far) this season.

2) Adama Traore (Middlesbrough) – 7.20

There is no denying that Adama Traore is one of
the most exciting dribblers in the Premier
League. The 20-year-old’s solitary WhoScored.com strength is ‘dribbling’ and for
good reason, with the Middlesbrough winger
averaging more per Premier League match (6)
than any other player this season. The obvious
criticism is Traore’s final ball, but when it comes
to stretching opposition defences, the youngster
is one of the more effective in England’s top tier.

1) Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) – 7.31

Raheem Sterling started the season strongly
following a summer to forget and, while his form
has tailed off of late, the England international is
still the highest-rated player aged 21 and under
in the Premier League, with a WhoScored.com
rating of 7.31.

Three dribbles per game in both the league and Champions League puts him second and first respectively of all City players.

Pep Guardiola’s side are among the favourites to secure the title and if Sterling can continue his good form, City have a stronger chance of landing domestic glory.

Good form of Onyekuru is attracting a lot of attention.

8 goals and 5 assists in 17 games. Brilliant return for a LWF.
