Keinene is too harsh. All her toughness and command tones can not change Nathan, only love, gentleness and calmness can change him for the better. She may even make him worse with her attitude. She should stop behaving as if she is doing him a favour by been friend with him. She should stop behaving as if the world revolve around her. She is even beginning to annoy me. I believe Kaka will be a better partner to Nathan than her.

Nathan is a product of an unloved home. His major vice is his rapist attitude. I hope he changes for the best, and found love. He can still be a better man with love and patience.

Chioma: If she can forgive Chuks, why can't she forgive Mabel. She should also give Mabel a chance, she should at least listen to her and reason it out. She should forgive both Chuks and Mabel, but should not give any of them the chance to ruin/control her happiness. Her happiness depends on her, not on anyone, neither a cheating spouse nor an unfaithful friend.

Chuks: Hmm. The man every female keeps seducing. He does not even have the dignity to tell the truth to ask for forgiveness after so many years. Even if he would cheat, not with someone close to his wife. He is not even repentance, after all these years. He will still cheat again and again, so why ask for forgiveness. Why lie to your wife's friend, just to fornicate with her? There are so many ladies he could have sex with, without lying or hurting their feelings and spoiling their relationship.

Wen my oga wey put me 4 hauz don order me to cook all types of rice. As in eh, buffet no b here. Coconut rice, Fried rice, Jollof rice, White rice, ofada rice, oil rice, as in eh...i wake up around five, and i stil dey kitchen till nw.

My children wan block my ear for me. "Mummy, are we going to the cinema?" "Mummy, are we going to see mama Victor today?" "Mummy, wont you take us to a swimming pool"

And i look at them and say "your papa no want make i rest. Whether na im hauz dem 4 born Jesus wey he wan invite pple come make dem chop, i no know. Is out hauz a manger? Isnt it funny?" D tin is dey dont evn undastand.


So i jst say make i drop in here, greet una smal.


I've finshed cookin Jellof, Fried and Coconut, Stew dey fire, wic 1 una wan chop, make una place una orders.

I stared at my phone...hoping and praying he was going to call. I felt like calling him to apologise but my pride wouldnt let me. I felt he was the guy and he should be the one apologising.


I sighed and rested my head on my palms. Maybe i behaved rashly. Yes i did. I wasnt supposed to command him, that i knew.



My phone rang and i hurriedly picked it up, but i hissed when i saw it was my mum.


'hello mum?'



'eh-hen, Kainene. I'm travelling to Abuja oo'



'which Abuja? I mean, what business have you with Abuja?'



'i'm travelling there with your dad. We have to see his people and set a date for the renewal of our wedding vows'



'what?!' i screamed 'i dont understand...what...what is happening?' i asked with a raised voice.

'your dad and i are renewing our vows...' then there was silence 'Nene, i'm sorry, i didnt tell you on time. I knew you were going to object to it'



Tears poured out from my eyes. I'd never ever in my life thought my mum was ever going to choose my unfaithful father over me. She knew very well that she was going to lose me if she renews her vows with her husband, but she still went ahead to do what she did. Because she loved me less and loved him more.


I swallowed hard 'have a...have a safe trip. By the time you come back, i must have left. I wish you a happy married life' I hung up and hurriedly packed my things from the table as tears rushed out of my eyes.



I dashed out of the hotel, to the garage and drove out to the car.

I pressed the door bell again and this time, Mrs Onome Chukwuka opened the door. She looked more beautiful than i last saw her. Her grey hair was still very visible and she had her hair in afro style.


She smiled warmly at me 'my pikin...long time. Hug me na...' she spread her arms and i went into it.


'how is your mumsi?' she asked closing the door 'this one wey you carry this kind big bag, i hope all is well?'

'all is well mumsi...i just say make i come stay with una small'



She screamed in excitement and gave me a high five 'you're highly welcome my darling. You can stay here as much as you like jareh...this is your house. Your friend Kamsi dey inside her room, dey ping as usual. That girl lazy eh...she no dey help me for kitchen oo. Very lazy human being. The only thing wey she sabi na to dey ping ping ping. Ah, wetin? Abi na so you too dey ping? You know the popular saying, show me your friend and i'll tell you who you are'


I laughed 'mama, no be so..' i so much loved this woman, a complete waffi woman. She was educated, attended one of the best schools in the US, and she had a thick foreign accent but that didnt stop her from mixing her words with pidgin.


She was married to an igbo man, Engr Chukwuka Chukwuka(CC). She had six children, all girls with Kaka being the fifth. A very disciplined woman and Kaka feared her even more than she feared her dad. And an excellent cook for that matter.

'no problem' i said dragging my box upstairs. Mummy Kaka was a chatterbox and if i hadnt left when i did, she for use talk kill me.



I pushed the door to Kaka's room open without knocking. As her mum had said, she was busying with her phone, so busy she was, she hadnt even noticed when i stepped into the room.


I tiptoed to where she was and tickled her.
She jerked, dropping her phone to the ground, she eyed me and hissed.
And i knew she was still mad at me.



'Kaka, i'm sorry. I'm really sorry about my attitude towards you the other day, it wont happen again' i apologised.



She ignored me pressing away.


'Kaka, now, no do this kind thing..'


She dropped her phone and looked at me 'see Kainenechukwu..i'm sick and tired of your shitty and bratty attitude..sometimes i wonder how we managed to cope as friends..when we are two different people with different idealogies..about life. I wonder if this friendship thingy can still...work out between us. Because with the way we've been disagreeing about so many things nowadays..hmm....' she sighed.


Cheap talk! How many times had she said that? Kaka and i were inseparable, besties for life.


I hugged her from behind smacking her ass and she giggled.
