I agree there aren't too many options.... But still, there are!!
Pls do an extended research on this and consider some well aligned PGDs.... Social work... Community & justice services..... Correctional workers.... and the likes (just thinking).
When you put up an application using any of these.... your SoP will complete the job for you.. Sound it loud that the PGD is a progression to achieve your LLM.
But trust me, don't defer on that same HRM!
Regards
Thanks alot and permit me to say most encouraging advise so far. I do appreciate very bit of advice so far...i have really not thought in this direction even though i have come across some of these courses whilst doing my research... I actually deferred admission till May as i has paid for a semester but your advice is extremely helpful

Almost all of US schools require GMAT/GRE, in fact, writing the exam brighten your visa chances coz us vo places great emphasis on it. Find out more on USA thread.

Well said!

@khloepatra3...... For any person that is an applicant... Your strongest/primary ties to your home country remains; your immediate family (spouse and children), immediate-extended (aged parents) and present employment.

Your landed fixed properties, siblings and verifiable investment are secondary ties.

I'll have to agree with @Austinpee4 here. The probability of visa denial is much much much higher when the program one is going for is lower than one's highest educational attainment. Having said this, it is not impossible to get a TRV in such situations (as @Eraytee said, the applicant in this situation has to have a very tight and extra convincing app for this to happen). I'd suggest anyone reading this to recognize that it is the exception, and not the norm, to get a TRV for a program that is below your highest educational qualification.

So then wot do we say to pgc applicants here? Cox i can say 95% of this applicants have a bsc wch is higher than d so called pgc/pgd. The reason behind ur studying is what matters if am working in a servicing company in oil and gas firm phd is not a must or even needed after ur msc, but certificate courses are necessary to equip n broaden ur knowledge. If wot u said must b fully true den i fink d pgc/pgd applicants here with bsc shud not b approved. Cases are different thats all I bliv. CIC should have said don't apply for programs below ur highest level of education. If ur proposed program is inline with ur previous academic history or work experience , I think u av a chance wen u submit a convincing and well packaged application.

I'll have to disagree with @toluene1234 here. It is extraordinarily unlikely (though not impossible) to get a visa with a closing balance lower than your annual costs (tuition +$10k CAD). Yes, once in a while we see a candidate or two get approved with a lower balance but this is far away the exception. CIC clearly states that they need to see this amount on the sponsor's bank statement (and/or other liquid funds e.g. brokerage, fixed deposit, etc), violating this requirement is an almost guaranteed way to get denied for "insufficient funds", particularly given the anemic state of the Nigerian economy.

Admittedly, good inflows on a bank statement show financial capability but this is only valuable to the extent that the sponsor has enough liquid funds at least equal to the CIC requirement. Submitting an app with finances below the CIC requirement is gambling, and your probability of losing that gamble is greater than 90%.

I agree with ur point here, d only exception i av is wen u pay a yr tuition fees with that kind of balance u won't have any problem concerning finances. Paying ur fees in full is not a guarantee for visa but goes far wen evaluating ur financial power.

Good morning. I am a geologist too, about to round up my M.Sc in petroleum geology. I also have the intention of migrating to Canada through school. I wanted to apply for PHD but someone advised I repeat M.Sc, I have been writing to supervisors for some months now, buy haven't gotten a positive reply. Please what advice do you have for me?

You and I know ao competitive our course is, u just av to continue to push for it. If u av work experience wud av adviced u to go for a pgd or pgc program bcox of d issue of getting a supervisor for most cases in msc or PhD admsn. Also if ur cgpa is good at Msc level and u av a good research proposal I think u shud give PhD a shot. Its all about interest. Someone lik me doesn't need a PhD for now, with my work experience in the industry, so am going for a pgd in petroleum engineering technology, my msc was in petroleum geology/sedimentology.

You can differ your admission bruv, then continue working and apply for study leave when for the next session.

My school resumes on the 9th too but my TRV hasn't been approved yet hence I differed my admission till May.

I doubt that because you applied for TRV stating the intention to study a particular course and your TRV may be refused or granted based on that.

However, if a TRV is to be issued (as a result of not meeting up with the resumption for 13th)a new acceptance/admission letter will be requested for from CIC, the chosen course in the new letter might influence the decision of the CIC.

Please note, this is just my opinion o, gurus in the house might shed more light.

\Everyone wishes the same bro, below is the mail I got from the my school.

Greetings,

I am sorry to hear that you have experienced delays in your visa processing.
Unfortunately, the College does not have any influence over the Canadian Embassy and therefore cannot intervene on your behalf.

Conestoga College can no longer accommodate students who arrive late to programs beginning in January 2017. It is very important that you book your flight in time to begin studies by the first day of classes. Students should be settled into their living arrangements, registered and able to begin classes by January 9th .

If you would like to defer your acceptance, please email the following details to internationaladmissions@conestogac.on.ca:
· Name
· Student Number
· Program Name
· New Start Date
· Statement requesting to defer your acceptance

Best regards,

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by dasolechild: 6:59pm On Jan 04, 2017
I also got that kind of mail from George brown college

As you know, January 2017 classes began on January 9, 2017. I am sorry that we are not able to allow you to begin your program later than January 13, 2017. We cannot provide an extension past that date.

George Brown College academic policy for all students (whether domestic or international) is that if students cannot join their programs at the latest by the Friday of the first week of classes then they cannot be admitted. The College has found that students arriving later than this have a very high probability of not catching up academically and thus failing their semester. Also, the official withdrawal deadline is January 20, 2017 and students are not able to recover their semester's tuition fees beyond this date.

The best that we can offer you at this late date is to defer your application to the next available intake. Please advise your admissions officer immediately if you would like to defer your program and please send in the withdrawal form located here with other required documents: http://www.georgebrown.ca/international/currentstudents/withdrawal_refund_policy.aspx

We regret any inconvenience caused to you by this policy, but emphasize that it is in place to support student academic success.

Thank you for your understanding.

Good day everyone, I got admission to TRU Canada and would want to start my VISA application this Jan, precisely next week. would like to know if:
Applying second week in Jan is safe in getting my VISA, as I am expected to resume in May.
Secondly I intend printing my statement of account before paying the fees. But this would be done same day. Is it safe to do such.
Thirdly, must I show receipts of landed property?
I would appreciate your kind responses. Thanks

A PGC/PGD is higher than a BSc. Having said that, it appears that CIC has now raised the bar for PGC/PGD approvals, while MSc approvals don't seem to be scrutinized in the same way. I agree that it is possible to get a TRV for a program below your highest educational attainment, but this is the exception and not the norm.

Honestly I am devasted with this CIC style of treating peoples application. Most of us will resume next Monday and up till no medical calls.Canny is not a place u can plan within 3 days.I am not sure that I will b given the opportunity to defer admission again coz my school has warned me that after deferring two times I have to reapply as an applicant the third time (No opportunity to defer the third time).

Canny has even seized my passport that I can't even apply to other countries.Wot kind of life is this

Please I need help!!!
