I have an opinion like you do but unlike you i am couth and tactful in my conversations because apparently your struggle is not with Nigerians, their choice of religion or how deep they choose to display it or even their lifestyle but haven studied you and your utterances on this trend, its clear your struggle is with you because you are clearly angry about something and nairaland forum is your way of venting away your missed aspirations.Calling the average Nigerian Christian a hypocrite yet you know the word so much but not enough not to judge or cast the first stone. You talk about respect for authority, what of respect for one another or does this bible you know so much permit vileness in our words??
Enough said ..

TWoods:

Other than another opportunity to hurl invectives, it was hard to figure out what your complaint really is about? Was it about my "disrespect" for "God"? Was it your perception that I have not led by example in respecting god? Or are you just annoyed that I respond to posts without reading? Is it about wanting to be perceived as knowledgeable or is your overall quibble that I am indeed unintelligent?

In terms of God and respect, I think someone else explained it already... if your "respect" for god centers only on how his name is written, rather than how you and others reverence him with regard to your every day actions, then you are of all men the worst hypocrite.
I mean, nowhere in the Bible does God say anything about how to spell his name, but he says a lot about honesty, obedience (even to local secular authorities, letting our words and deeds be above reproach etc. you remind me of what I really think about Nigerian "Christians" - a collection of spiritually empty hypocrites, whose concern for god does not extend beyond what he can acquire for them and whose reverence for him is purely superficial (how you spell his name, how you dress in church, how long you pray etc.).

In terms of leading by example - i rarely invoke god or anything religious here. On the other hand, this thread is chockful of people calling on favor, waffling on about testimonies and people like you who get their pants in a knot about how his very title should be spelled. I would have expected you all to lead the way in showing us how much that god means to you with respect to your deeds and utterances.

The rest of your points I will kindly decline to engage. You have a right to your own opinion.

Run away from birth centres! Run as fast as your legs can carry you. Will come back with my transcript on a birth center i ended up not using in 2013! Save some money and deliver in the hospital ! Save yourself the stress and pain! It might be cheaper but at the long run it will become more complicated (making the bills more expensive ). Stay away from birth centre! Share to save a life!

What if they call in favor? Surely the Nigerian "God" can do anything no?

1. 1st copy is about $20 or $23, extra copy is about $5,
2. You can fill the form online at travel.state.gov save as PDF n print. Expedited US passport is $165. If father is not around he should print out and fill a ds5053 and get it notarized and Dhl to her. She will add it to her supporting documents.

Nigerian passport is where money order is concerned.

Ehen Baslone, this is how to go about it. Use this one coz I got it all jumbled up. My apologies. Pregnancy brain

I don't see anything wrong with what Twoods has said. I don't see any reason to sugar coat anything when it comes to intentional misrepresentation during visa interviews. This forum should be able to speak with one voice at ALL times in rebuking such acts . Let this forum not be an extension of our society were ill gotten wealth is celebrated.

I gotcha!

Disturbed is an understatement! The energy he puts into castigating people here can be put into better use at helping his non-american family member stuck here in Nigeria who can't afford to give birth in the USA. He's obviously bitter that God gave us the grace to afford this.

This is the problem with our Nigeria today. You tell someone what they do is unacceptable, you are branded oversabi or asked "who u epp" or go "epp ya family". Yet na we dey come this thread come ask questions. Lol.One has got to give at the end of the day. Make we decide which be our headache.

Nigerians are too sentimental and usually have a hard time understanding people who are not, people who deliver truth as cold as it is. Twoods happens to be one of those people. Calling the bros disturbed ain't right.

And I do....why?? because he left the issue to be tackled which was to respond to the poster advising people to use insurance but jumped to an uncorrelated response of saying " and i am sure you expect your Nigerian god to help you"..Emotional and psychological intelligence is the ability to discern between what applies and what doesn't... don't make everything about a mans' religion or belief..

Hahahahahaa @ mere mortals. The English is even incoherent and forced. Trying too hard. As in this same argument I thought was closed 6 pages back. I'm at a loss as well to what the argument is now. Religion? Insurance? Disrespect? Discontent? Which is it? TWoods quoted my post and I totally understood his joke, don't know what the argument is now.

wait ooh.. you are a dude ooh...
whats really annoying you with his post.. that he's plain cold or writes indifferently or is it something else.
by the way, why do all religious folks thinks they need to take it upon themselves to defend their god.
it's your religion, practice it with your maker, if someone irks your belief live him to his/her faith. all these preaching and clarification is just watered down extremism.

whoever said anyone was stuck here in Nigeria. if this country is hard or soft its all about perspective and what you do for a living.
even some so called US citizens are suffering more than the dude sleeping under oshodi bridge so please, don't go singing its "grace" and "favour" to give birth in the states. there are tonnes of places one can give birth at.
giving birth in the states is a "choice".

please let's all re-position this thread back to its true purpose of archiving information for future parents who wish to give birth in the states rather than whine about our personal issues.
