I find it difficult to agree with this post. I do not have statistical figures, but based on everyday observation.

What is the cost of renting a 2 bed flat or even a self contained
What is the cost of transportation to and from work Monday to Friday
What is the cost of lunch for 5 days multiplied by 20 working days
Sundry costs are borne including laundry, light, water, etc
Throw in girlfriend bills
Most of the people I meet at my hangout come in almost everyday and drink at least I bottle of beer
Shirts will be changed
Lastly they are not politicians
50k bawo

Are you sure you are in this country at all

People are just coping here

After every expences and house rent i will be having 200$ its not balanced, I think doing business is what suits nigeria.

lets leave the work for politicians to work.

I have always said it that the problem of Nigeria is not unemployment but under employment. There are jobs but the pay is nothing to write home about. Most graduates go abroad to become either security guards or valets all because the pay is good. That's the difference between Africa and the western world. When you see them saying they have reduced employment by so so so percentage do you think its by office jobs?...hell No!!.. it's mostly menial jobs, but no one complains because the pay is very okay. The problem of Underemployment in Nigeria needs to be taken seriously.

Sadly the problem of unemployment and underemployment might not be taken care of soon for the following reason:

The youths that should be demanding for better governance are blinded already by ethnic and religious bigotry, as well as foolish sentiments premised on political affiliation. That is why you would read comments as foolish as "shey na only him loot?", "as long as you have not arrested all the thieves from the other parties/ tribes then you must not arrest the thieves from my party/ tribe.

Such asinine remarks explain why Nigeria is in this parlous condition.

I am not joining issues with you, years back when I worked in the bank, i earned at least triple the figure you mentioned. I was however not a contract staff nor was it my first employment, so i can understand if you fit into the later category. My position still remains what it is.

Any person earning below 100k in a bank is not a banker but a contract staff.

He is employed and falls under one of the category mentioned above and he earns 54k,is contract staff not a worker'he is,he was employed.people even earn less Dan 50k in other sector and dem still dey groove.

Please if you are travelling out avoid going to Asian countries as their racism is very high. Infact there is a video goin online about how they kill people in some of these foreign countries just to take their kidney Etc.
But if you are determined I believe you can still makr it Nigeria,a simple business technique is to look for something you have a passion for be it selling or rendering services and beat your cost down so that people will patronise you more.and you make your gain base on turn over and after a while you can start increasing your goods or services to normal by then they can no longer stop coming to you because humans are creatures of habit and once they are hooked it takes forever to leave that thing even common naira land some people are addicted and can't stop.

People who encounter problems abroad are folks who didn't follow the legal routes, over stayed their visits thereby going the routes of illegality. Why should you emigrate to a foreign land without any plan or illegally and expect to enjoy privileges accorded to legal residents?

Additionally, doing business in Nigeria is not for the fainthearted. I operate one and I have not seen light for almost two weeks. It has been generators all along. Not everyone can withstand such.

Of course. 90% of opportunities in nigeria are based off connections, not education or qualifications . That's another reason why nigeria will always be backwards.

And how much are you earning? Somebody is earning more than 50% of Nigerians, he's permitted to blow his horn. In this economy, you're earning more than 200k per month, you better thank God. Stop trying to bring another brother down.

So you are one of the Nigerians who deceive Nigerians to go to Oman and they end up stranded in oman after collecting their money

God is watching people like you. If what you are saying is true, post your oman number I will call you and meet you anywhere you are in Oman.

For those who care to know, be very wary of any rosy story of jobs outside Nigeria, many have been duped by such stories.

I was about replying you with real evidence but on a second thought I didn't find anything meaningful in proving my self real for you, if you like believe you u like don't am not forcing any1, and again in my post I only talk about how they're paying in Oman, never told any1 about that, go and check my profile and all my post

only very few people earn good salaries in this country. That's common knowledge.

The fact that a person goes to work every morning dressed in suit and tailored shirts doesn't mean they earn well.
they could be earning 50k per month.
Those that earn N20k how do they dress? Jeans and sandals.

The truth is that nigerians are not educating themselves in the right way.
You're right, they don't know their rights as citizens, and they will continue to accept their atrocious living conditions, because that's all they know. Eveything in nigeria is surrounded by religion. The only reaction that nigerians know is prayer. Pray for politicians who will continue to steal and embezzle the money into their pockets. I just feel sorry for Nigeria. Its a never ending cycle.
I couldn't agree more safiaa.infact I was having an intense conversation with some friends last night about the mentality that's got such hold on us.well there is no saving us from it anytime soon
