how do u save? When u receive 50k monthly and transportation and feeding takes up to 80% with relatives looking up to u. Will like to know ur technigues

Exactly! A lot of people just think of the money being earned. But how comfortable one will be depends on how much one is able to save after all the bills and day to day expenses are made.
Someone earning 20kper month/240k per annum cannot even afford house rent in an urban city

And how much are you earning? Somebody is earning more than 50% of Nigerians, he's permitted to blow his horn. In this economy, you're earning more than 200k per month, you better thank God. Stop trying to bring another brother down.

You didn't get my point. I only adviced him to hustle for jobs that pay more than what he earns currently.

Still poor. Fuel, feeding, rent and activity will consume that in 2 weeks.
If after tax, your net pay is below 9M per annum then u need to hustle more my brother.

300k a month is not poor for nigeria.

Seriously Nigeria is bleeped, I have someone in Spain that works as a cleaner in a hotel and her salary is €1,500/month
€1,500×400
=#600,000/month.
Her bills for the month is about €600, balance =€900. She pockets about #360,000 after expenses.
She's not even a graduate and here we are in Nigeria receiving #50k/month so pathetic, I weep for Nigeria.

So, no taxes in Spain?!

I have always said it that the problem of Nigeria is not unemployment but under employment. There are jobs but the pay is nothing to write home about. Most graduates go abroad to become either security guards or valets all because the pay is good. That's the difference between Africa and the western world. When you see them saying they have reduced employment by so so so percentage do you think its by office jobs?...hell No!!.. it's mostly menial jobs, but no one complains because the pay is very okay. The problem of Underemployment in Nigeria needs to be taken seriously.

No! The pay is not OK over there. The reason why the pay seems OK over there and they're not complaining is because with your meagre income, you can still have 100% access to the basic needs of an adult life - food, clothing, shelter, car; if you like. why? because the government over there have put in place solid basic infrastructure - subsidized housing (public/private owned), steady power supply, developed food industry to ensure cheap quality food, credit/loan facilities, access to decent housing/car dealerships, even their NHIS (as is in naija) covers to a large % beyond the government workers (as private sector drives every economy everywhere)... So the blame is still on Buhari and our leaders and heroes past!

Stutern, a Lagos-based online platform has published the salary distribution of employed graduates in Nigeria. Stutern carries out studies on employment in Nigeria and Nigerian universities and this year, they created something called the Nigerian Graduate report. According to the report released, statistics were obtained between 2010-2016. Stutern embarked on a study into the salary distribution of employed graduates and below is what was found out.

1. More than 50% of Nigerians currently earn N50,000 or less on a monthly basis.
2. 1 in 4 new graduates earn less than N20,000 monthly as starting salary.
3. Over 80% of employed graduates currently earn not more than N150,000 per month.
4. Most graduates earn between N20,000 - N50,000 monthly both as starting salary and current salary.
5. Only about 1.92% earn above N150,000 monthly.

Very poor and shows the state of negligence of the ruling class!

Even doing online works like eBook publishing on Amazon KDP, freelancing on Upwork, Freelancer, 99Designs etc. will earn far more than that monthly.

it is very OK, you don't get too rich or too poor. A major problem in Nigeria is the gap between the very rich, rich and average citizen and poor ones.

The "thiefing" politicians are scared.

But when they turn around and see the oppressed "hailing and defending" them, they become emboldened.

Those thieves bear 10% of the blames. The mumu masses bear 90% blames. One can only be oppressed as much as he/she can endure. But the endurance of Nigerians has no limit. They think it is more noble to die while crossing sahara desert than die fighting for their rights.

Even when given the tools to fight, Nigerians fight against the wrong enemies. Instead of blowing up churches or pipelines, let Boko Haram and ND militants turn their anger against the political class and you will see Nigeria progress at a stealth rate.

Sometimes in life when you have no other option, its better to remain humble and accept anything you can do. You don't have to be content, but its better than being sorry.

No offence, but most people talking about salaries of workers abroad are not taking very vital points into consideration. Yes the case of workers salaries in Nigeria is pathetic.Have you asked of the cost of living in those foreign countries? I am an undergraduate student in Mauritius studying business accounting and finance. I do part time security job in the evening. My monthly pay is Rs10,000(ruppes) which is equivalent to #100,000(one hundred thousand naira). But my house rent alone(self contain) takes about 60% of my monthly salary.feeding and other expenses never join oo.. so in these foreign countries, the more they pay,the more you spend. So forget all those talk about big dollar pay. Except a situation were you are a professional.
