Abi, let's kuku give kawhi the MVP, even IT sef deserves it more. grin
Any chale with internet access can type anything online. A team with Victor Oladipo as its 2nd best player isn't who I would tag for contention. I liked what Harden did over the regular season but to flat out trivialize RW's achievements with a mediocre team as if Harden woulda done better with that OKC didn't sit well with me.

Lol.. Congrats baba, i think a repeat is not far fetched for your Pens.

These Caps sabi fall hand. Well, hockey is very unpredictable irrespective of home ice, and maybe that is one of the reasons i love the game.

Ovy must be feeling sick to his stomach.
I am not dreaming repeat just yet. Sidney isn't quite a 100 yet and facing two of the top 4 teams in the playoffs was really draining. You have the dangerous Preds (they remind me of the 12&14 LA Kings) who I tip to beat the Ducks (who robbed the Oilers) on the other side

Capitals choking is a given, that one no suppose suprise you. Ovechkin would forever be in Sidney Crosby's shadow

You did not miss much. Low energy, couldn't rebound, played zero defense, static offense; tried to shoot 3s and go for the occasional contested layups. Pretty much MDAs typical moves (which necessitated why people call him a one trick pony).

Rest of the piffle you'd read from some posts are just that...piffle.

I thought I would see a game 7 truth be told. I even wanted it.

Gordon, L Will (y'all lost a first round pick for dude), Anderson were absolute garbage in this series. At least it will be a while before people tell us how great your bench is.

Harden folded. 2 shots first half with all those TOs.

But more than anything, MDA was severely out coached last game and this. Still don't understand the 7 player rotation and refusing to try midrange shots today. It was too static.
Re: The NBA Begins by Eruditor: 4:06am On May 12, 2017
Rockets were supposed to be that great team that could cope without their star player. Star player played garbage, Rockets lost.

Do you know sweet Lou? Do you know Gordon? Do you know Athreeza? Yea, I do. They are as good as their coach, system and star player- their individual talent is being overstated. Dem no gree.

The bench is this and that, that's why they are 3rd seeds. Ok. They just lost like a 7-seeded Memphis (exactly what Most pundits thought they would be when the season began).

They only beat OKC because they had better players? Okay. Then why all the hullabaloo about them losing to a Spurs team that supposedly has better players?

Maybe coaching has to do with it? Not necessarily better players.

Maybe a better system has to do with it? Not necessarily having better players.

Spurs lose their best player and go on to trounce Rockets (thus proving my point).

L-egends? Change narrative and make it about MVP.

The moment i heard kawhi was not playing I knew it was over. This rockets team, especially harden has been known to play absolute garbage when they think they can get away with it. And I know popovich factored this.

We have the better offensive team but we are nowhere near as disciplined as the spurs.

Hahahaha when Telemundo people don confuse. They start regurgitating what we told them eons ago. Premium verbose megedefegede

The same coach internationally panned for his lack of defense our in house Telemundoist told us had conjured a system to stop Westbrook. we told him a certain player was pivotal to that and the ineptitude of his teammates made it easier he argued and pulled a strawman. Oya where was the system in this series? Salvador is now telling us D'Antoni has always been a one trick pony. Confusion na wa. Hehehe

Telemundoist expects role players to carry James Harden over the course of TWO playoff series. Someone tell this rookie that is not how it works.

Lmao e say na prove point. Oturukpeke. What system was Portugal running when they beat France without Cristiano Ronaldo their god? Rookie can't kuku tell difference between one off event and long term absence

I hate to ssay this cos I was rooting for a Rockets - GSW finals but I hope the veteran analyst has realised the holes in the rather weak arguments he put up when OkC went out after the first round.
Faced by a better team, Harden crashed and hit the ground really hard. Going by that argument, he isnt even worth an MVP mention cos he couldn't bail his team out when it mattered.
Westbrook even did much more for his team, fought on both boards to the end and didn't take the cheeky route out (fouling out) to save face.
My point is, objective analysis is expected if you wanna be considered a bball know-it-all.
Oya lets kuku give the MVP to Kawhi, and then when the GSW takes the series in 6/7, last last we'll give it to Curry grin grin

Uncle Anthony still played 7 guys.
Harden choked the last 2 games that mattered is a different conversation from regular season MVP. And Westbrook not making it to semi doesn't make automatically mean he would've done better against Spurs defense. He wasn't different against Warriors last season playoff Semis with his 4TOs in last 3mins of the Game 6.. Just saying.

Brother, understand. Certain people hate losing arguments. Rather than man-up and accept it, they will change the story and hyperventilate about illusions.

MVP conversation finished tay tay. Isaiah T. would have been my choice but when the list was whittled down to those 2 I chose Harden and explained why. We all knew RW would win even before his series against Harden as the journalists who voted had pretty much made their opinions heard, so be careful not to listen to revisionist nonsense.

Oya series started, what were the myths I kept attacking? 1. The strength of Rockets bench 2. The underplayed Role of Billy D 3. RWs fault.

Each time people would pretentiously accept that RW had faults but then lump everything on Oladipo and the others I kept saying here that RW should get a chunk of the blames. I said after that, Billy D should be censured as well for not helping his MVP help the others. Countless times I showed how RW always played well from 1st to 3rd quarters but then lose it all in the 4th EVEN WHEN HE WOULD BE PLAYING AND THE GAMES WOULD BE CLOSE.

I made particular reference to the game RW went 4/19 in the 4th. In another game he was 2/11. To all these the response I kept getting was, V. Oladipo went 4/17. Kanter cannot defend PnR bla bla bla.

I reiterated that as lucid as those facts were, they were little compared to RWs role. No, they did not listen. They said Beverly was a beast on both ends. How that Sweet Lou was the second coming of Jordan. How Gordon was a 3pt God. How Ariza won a ring with Kobe. How Ryno was a white KD. How ROCKETS COULD WIN GAMES WITHOUT HARDEN ALL BECAUSE OF HIS BENCH.

Class captain even said that it had nothing to do with system even when I kept saying Billy D was getting out coached by MDA. He said it had nothing to do with Harden (as the team could cope without him). Kept showing me 18.8ppg of Lou and huge numbers of Gordon. My reply was always, that Harden and MDAs system helped them play that good. I even went as far as reminding people of their antecedents in their former clubs - Pelicans, Lakers and so on.

"They were injured in Pelicans. Lakers were sure to tank". OKAY.

They are quoting when they asked me what system Rockets will play when they face Spurs or GSW and my reply is also on this thread: "they will lose both series because the other teams have been enmeshed in their system(s) far longer than Rockets never mind having better players".

Series started and before game 6 Harden was averaging 28/8/7 yet his team was down 3-2. Kawhi and Parker got injured and funny enough, Rockets lost both games following the loss of the Spurs starters (including their best player).

I am here thinking, I thought Rockets could cope without Harden, why are they losing?

If Harden was not that important to them, why then lose by 39pts in the only game he scores very low?

Since Rockets bench is so great why not win this game inspite of Harden so that Class captain will be correct?

What happened to the magic of Sweet Lou, Ryno, E.Gordon and Anderson? Are they not better than D. Murray, D. Green, J. Simmons etc? Was Gordon not touted alongside L Will to be 6th man of the year?

If they want to be logically consistent with their arguments then Harden's players and not him should be panned the same way they argued for RW. I am the one being consistent. I have blamed Harden for the L. Blamed MDA next and let the SUPER bench have it easy.

But they have swept everything under the table now. What I am now seeing is how system does not work yet abeg no be system basketball Pop use yesterday? Did Spurs not frustrate Rockets PnRs? Did they not pack bodies in the paint to prevent layups? Did they not guard the 3pt line and force Rockets to make tough shots? Did they not use their big men to outrebound Rockets because Rockets had no interior presence barring Capela? Did they not move the ball to play post with LMA all game?

Was LMA not bad almost all playoffs long until yesterday? Was Gasol not poor all round 2 series long until yesterday? Does it not prove my point that without even having better players, a good coach with a right system can make average joes look good?

But was that not my point all along? I said you guys were giving too much credit to the Rockets bench. That they were not world's apart better than OKCs bench. That MDAs system was making them look better than they actually are and that Harden was running a more inclusive govt than RW which is why his team was winning.

I definitely agree, but playing ahome with their backs against the Wall I expected a blow out win I won't lie.

Why did MDA bench triple Dekker even when his presence in the first half helped y'all reduce the deficit to 18 and he made 2 huge 3s out of 4 tries?

Rockets bench has the stats to back it up.

I have never challenged their numbers. My argument however has been consistent: that in a better system those OKC scrubs will do better than they did. That system could have included RW not trying to do all when it mattered. I digress...

If you watched that game on TNT, JVG and Mark Jackson were discussing LMAs big game yesterday and trying to explain what happened systemically. They concluded that having to play through Kawhi affected his rhythm and that yesterday, without Kawhi he found his rhythm which helped him make more shots.

Mark in particular said "people tend to attribute rhythm to only spot-up shooters but even players in the post need to find their rhythm to make shots" (I am paraphrasing).

I was here saying Oladipo, Kanter and co were playing off rhythm. Someone else kept saying what type of off-rhythm will anybody need to be in to go 4/17 or make 2/21 from the FT. Even Birdman was saying the same thing about Oladipo. Dem no gree.

Do you agree that in rhythm, a D Murray can outplay a Harden and it will not be that Harden is a scrub?

Who is talking about MVP matter when voting don close a month ago. More verbose megedefegede. And rookie thinks I lost argument. Hahahaha. Delusion odikwa dangerous oo. Like Ronaldo playing then awarding himself Balon D'or.

When we told boy scout not to expect Harden to be carried in another series. They were telling us tales by moonlight. Even with a good bench we still have to explain to the rookie that the star has to perform at a certain level?

We told rookie too that it is typical for star player to want to take over in the 4th especially when the team cannot hold on to leads when he sits. Because when it goes south it is still ominiknowest people like him that would ask Paul George why he allowed C.J Miles take that shot

Why was Harden the master facilitator not facilitating and making others look good like you claimed? If system was all that mattered then how did OKC with just K.D easily beat an arguably stronger Spurs team with this same Billy D as coach?

When the supposed star of the team is dropping 2/11 with 6 turnovers or shooting 3/17 from the field. Is it now the bench mob that would bail Harden out in another series? That's not HOW IT WORKS MATE

Who would watch that shower of shyte served by Harden yesterday and still talk about Westbrook, MDA and other Telemundo related yarns. People hailing Westbrook and hailed Lebron despite losing to Golden State in 15 are not fools. You can't put that rubbish Harden served yesterday and try to garnish it. Kolewerk

If Harden didn't play it would have even been better

Double G stuff. Garrulous garbage. grin

Did Beverley not force RW to 7/27 all by himself in game 5?
RWs FG% was low because of shot volume but his teammates combined with over 130 more shots than him had higher percentage because...?

Harden is being defended by someone who said he let his team down when it mattered? grin

LOL, Man like Harden. Damned if he doesn't and damned if he does. If his team wins even with his huge numbers- they helped him. If they lose, even with his huge numbers, his fault. RW on the otherhand can do no wrong. He wins, he did it all alone. He loses, his scrubs let him down. Decale, please remind me of the post I made here about PG13 and his teammates (mentioning you because you quoted me and told me to free RW).

A- Harden did not facilitate and went 3/17
E- He was absolute garbage. The reason his team lost.
E- WB did not facilitate and went 4/19
A- his teammates are scrubs he had to do it on his own.

grin cheesy

Wait, KD is now JUST KD. That is like saying, why did Cavs with JUST Lebron beat an arguably stronger GSW in 2016? These jokes, you can't write them.

You knew the bench won't carry Harden so they lost you blame him. Yet you knew too that OKC bench won't carry RW, they lost you blame the bench.
