Does she have a valid point or just looking for traffic on her blog? Does she hate Nigeria, West Africa or the whole African continent? She gotta make up her darn mind. |

Ricardo also commented this: I have had the misfortune to work in Nigeria for over 2 years and its not 1% of Nigerians, its like 80%. |

Seajae:I think its a "he". I also think this was informed by racism and hate more than anything else. There are too many generalisations. There are bad eggs in Nigeria, no doubts about that, but to say ALL NIGERIANS are like that? That's an overstretching of falsity! |

Emmanuel, who claimed to be a Nigerian, commented this: I am Nigerian and I live in NIgeria at the moment. I have also lived in the US for years…earlier on. |

Racist comment from Mel: I agree with EVERY word you said! The Nigerian men come here to our colleges and try to date all the White, bright, and light-skinned women. I kid you not, at the undergrad I attended, the other African men dated African females, but the Nigerian was the ONLY African preying on the White and light races of women. The undergrad that I attended was extremely diverse and like dated like with the exception of the Nigerian men always trying to and sometimes succeeding to build relationships with the prettiest Caucasian girls — one a good friend of mine! |

I have been avoiding everyone from that land; in fact, I have been avoiding everyone from West Africa in general because I did some research and I found out that the countries around Nigeria are just about as bad as Nigeria. This one weak me finish. The guy is not exaggerating tho I purchased DSTV explora2 from this dstv installer shop, he sold it for me at 42K incuding installation. When I visited Dstv office at GRA yesterday to link 2 decoders na him i ask the guys there for the Explora 2 price and he said it's 20K. The guy scammed me almost double the price, Corruption is in our framework. Almost everybody wants to use opportunity to scam you. |

fuckerstard:But he is generalising. The truth is that people that give Nigeria bad images are in the minority, contrary to what many think. For every internet fraudster, there are hundreds of honest Nigerians! |

Why won't they say this? Since of these are racists who hate anything that isn't white, but some are saying the truth. I was attacked in a thread for saying an Igbo woman shouldn't make fake gucci and versace shoes. They were mad at me because to them it is okay to make bootleg items. With trash like that why wouldn't Nigeria be backward. |

Some things written there are so true, some Nigerians are shallow minded which is why the "Churches" are thriving. Parental guidance is at an all time like low. |

most time i dont blame such people tho over generalized but there is a huge atom of truth in it Nigerians only like to get offended when others(non Nigerians) say the truth...thats the only time we r united but with the afonjeezys renowned in cybercrime and our ipod developers and our robot habokis Nigeria has become a laughing stock among nations sadly its the middle n lower class that feels the effect mind you every Nigerian is racist one way or another (cutting across skin color, religion,weight/fat-shaming , NCAN-ism ) etc

Although some of their points are true but I disagree with the rest. I can't agree that all Nigerians are bad. We still have very good folks who are upright and are doing very well. Even some of these so called white people are worse than Nigerians. I won't blame them but our leaders who have failed this country through greed and selfishness. Most people doing yahoo yahoo stuff and engage in other criminal activities are doing so because of the non - availability of jobs. Let our leaders fix basic amenities like light good roads etc and create a good platform for youth development and watch unemployment decrease rapidly. |

That Blogger is a fool. A big fool, I wonder the type of things that comes out of their mouth, so almost 180 million individuals are scammers and all Americans are saints?. The worst is when fellow Nigerians support such trash. Americans have the highest rate of con artist in this world. Ponzi is actually the name of an American investment Banker......imagine the level of scam you must have done for a scam to be named after you. Nigerians are learners where Indians and Russians are when it comes to scam. I have been scammed by a Macedonian before but that won't make me to label them all as scammers. Bunch of racist umu ndi ara |

Nigeria is losing out fast. In fact no more hidding place at all. There are good ones here but the rate they are joining the bad is outrageous. Some will even stone you here for calling their son who steal a criminal by asking you is he the only one that do steal? Arrest someone who loot they will call your action witch hunting, that if you must arrest any, you have to begins from the day Nigeria was founded. Waao! Meehn its so bad. |

I am a citizen of a country without a leader, a country where every way na way as long as it leads to somewhere. The above account I believe it to be true, the whole truth, nothing but the truth. What do you expect when even the leader of the supposedly giant of Africa has scammed his subjects not once but twice! So help our country men and women, save us from evil doers Lord. Amen. Nota Belle: Please who has heard from our President General himself? I hope nothing untoward has taken place. |

This guy is not lying at all. While I lived in eastern Europe, I got to understand these things more. I met some guys who were internet scammers. All their Nigerian friends who lived there (and i mean all with the exception of none) were internet scammers too. Eventually one got arrested (he's probably still in jail now) and several others fled the country for fear of being arrested too. One ran to Ghana after he was caught withdrawing money from western union with fake documents. He was under strict investigation and fled the country using a fake passport (which is another crime). Apparently he would create fake bank websites that are identical to the original websites. Imputing your credit card details in those websites would result in him getting all your information and subsequently he would "wire" out every penny you have. I also got to know that they did a lot of online shopping with stolen cards. We shouldn't play the"racism card". The op is 100% correct. This op isn't exaggerating at all. Nigerians have also destroyed the reputation of Malaysia. A cyber cafe was busted in Lagos for habiting fraudsters and the locals all came out to support the fraudsters. We don't need to lie to ourselves, the op isn't saying that EVERY Nigerian is bad, he is simply saying that an overwhelming majority of us are bad and that is the gospel truth if we mean to be truthful to ourselves. Look around and you'll find that several of your colleagues steal office property when the opportunity arises. |

There is absolutely nothing racist in the op. The reason Nigeria keeps getting worse is that we fail to tell ourselves the truth and look for possible solutions to this menace. konfused: |

pls don't bring racism into this. The writer has obviously made thorough research and has revealed things that made me suprised as to how he managed to know. I saw that comment of yours and I almost wept for the mindset of some people. They kept attacking and raining insults on you when you spoke the plain truth. They were openly supporting piracy and plagiarism. Which way Nigeria? fallout87: |

This is awkward... ![]() An ignorant racist writes nonsense and some Nigerians are accepting it as gospel truth. While we accept that Nigeria is a country bedevilled by corruption, this kind of generalisation has rendered the article nonsensical. How can you say 'every Nigerian is a scammer'? The most notorious scammers in history are Americans, Europeans and Asians. Every crook hiding in cyberspace can claim to be Nigerian because we already have a bad rep. I dismissed the entire article when the silly writer inferred that Nairobi is in West Africa. I cannot take the thoughts of such an ignorant person seriously, whether black or white. As for the Emmanuel who commented on the blog, he evidently belongs to that class of Nigerians in Diaspora who display their rock bottom self esteem and inferiority complex by being more American than the Americans. Crap!

fratermathy:Is he really? Can you actually say the number of people involved in 419 is less than a million? If you have to debate that in your head then that's not generalising. |
| Re: Why I Don’t Like Nigerians By Robert Lindsay, A US Citizen by GavelSlam: 6:02am On May 17, 2017 |
Ololade1999:I disagree. I know quite a number of Nigerians based in UK and US, with all the opportunities such societies provide, still doing yahoo or credit card fraud. Realise some of these people have masters degrees and all. Also, the leaders we get are products of the society. Our society thrives on tribe, religion, nepotism. Value of hardwork and scholarship has long been abandoned. Think about the sheer number of people MMM slapped. That's our society. When you find university professors, Church clerics involved in such ponzi schemes you know your society has failed on many counts. Funny, they were all warned. |

fratermathy:oniovo be truthful to yourself, isn't this country corrupt?.. the youths are criminals.. yes I said so.. about 20-15% are into fraud.. go to other countries, Nigerians there are I. e pushing drugs or doing yahoo. and funny enough we don't see anything wrong with that.. how can we develop with this kind of mentality?, Just take a trip to warri , abraka, Lagos, owerri and see for your self. Sometimes I regret been a Nigerian.. how many times have you heard of other countries been persecuted due to drugs trafficking? , 60% of all reported case in Africa are Nigeria. although the guy op generalized a lot.. |

The writer sure used a lot of generalisation in his article which is quite wrong because tying up an entire people with a single shoestring is completely improper. Having said that, I think the writer was right in most of the issues he highlighted. The name 'Nigeria' has been brutally murdered on the alter of corruption and greed by our politicians, 'yahoo-yahoo' boys and girls, and drug dealers. Nigeria has become the scum of the earth because of the shameless activities of these criminals who commit crime without any remorse. We live in country where criminals are worshipped rather than shamed and prosecuted. These days in Nigeria, it's not uncommon to find young boys /men who proudly proclaim themselves as "yahoo boys" without the slightest of shame. How did we get to this point as a people? Why are Nigerians dotting almost every prisons in China, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam ...? How did we get to this unenviable low as a people ? Let's stop playing the race card whenever a white person refers to Nigeria as a country full of crooks. Rather, Nigeria should begin to look for ways to redeem its shameful image in the international community. |
