Just saw an application refused for "insufficient funds to pay for tuition" only.

Reason? Applicant was careless to print the tuition reciept from the school without noticing that the reciept number was not included in his printout. It was his fault and he acknowledged it.

I guess CIC tried to verify the payment and didn't also request a new proof of payment from him (it's possible they thought it was a smart move). Every aspect of the application was solid. Funds available and waiting in his account in canada for living expenses is $C20, 000. First year tuition fully paid but that little carelessness will cost him a new processing fee.

Abeg, make we dey check every details! Even if you took first in sightseeing, allow another person go through your application. It could save you something!

A riduculous reason of refusal. This one dey pain!

Hmmm. Bro, this is unbelievable. Wait, is the above reason from the GCMS note? Insufficient funds could mean something else but not the above reason. CIC can easily confirm payment of fees via any means including simple phone call to the contacts on the offer letter.

Please I need help with respect to payment of application fee for admission into u of Manitoba. Each time I fill the Master card details and click on the submit button, a blank page comes up. I called the help desk and I was sent a document for the 'global pay' option to be taken to the bank for payment.

At the bank, I was told to continue trying the online payment option on the school's application portal. The blank page still comes up. I have been on this for over a month. Please what else can be done? I'd appreciate all the help I can get; I am running out of time. Thanks

Well, it looks unbelievable but it is what it is! GCMS file pointed to unverified proof of funds available for tuition.

How would the school verify the payment if the reciept as issued by the them is different ? It could be that the number was the only thing needed to confirm it from their system. The school issued a reciept to PA that had the reciept number on it. While PA tried to convert the reciept to a PDF file(wasn't on PDF), he didn't copy all the details. The number was at the tail end and he didn't include it in his own printout and it cost him.

Affirmative bro! It was unbelievable till both documents were cross checked and the difference was noticeable.

I think he is also fortunate the issue of mis-representaion didn't come up.

this type of VO's are the ones that look out for the slightest reason/s to deny an applicant undecided cry . Very unfortunate for the applicant. Some VOs would have contacted the applicant or school for verification (using student ID).

It would have been better if issue of misrepresentation had come in my view as it will had given the applicant the opportunity to respond to this with his/her proof of tuiion payment

Especially dealing with Nigerians and our smart nature. Anybody can fall victim. Also, those folks are making huge money off applicants.. Rather unfortunate.

This very sad considering the waiting time.

This is what we keep saying, various factors come into play during visa application; documents, human factors, VO discretion.

Like you said, thank God they didnt say anything about misrepresentation...

From my above highlighted, technically i don't think you stand any chance. All I see is ''purpose of visit refusal''. I may sound blunt but it is the gospel truth I make onto you.

I would want to seize this opportunity to encourage some of you guys here especially those who must have applied with pgd/c and got refused once/twice as the case may be. The broken heart you get when refused as a result that your second class lower degree result couldn't get you masters admission in Canada and you just want to spend millions for PGD. I would want to advice such fellows to narrow their search to Europe, especially GERMANY and embrace the free tuition education in their education even in masters. As long as your CPGA is from 3.0 or better in our grading system and schools have your programs completely(100%) taught in English, you stand a big chance. Why not embrace this opportunity than continuously giving yourself emotional pains. Don't tell me language barrier b/c your international program is never taught in German and it is also easier to learn the language if you know you don't want to continue staying in naija.

I made similar post last year. 6 guys who were silent readers on this canada thread after being refused are in Germany studying their masters program, tuition free, working and earning Euros, I got to join them in their international group c*** this morning as one sent me PM yesterday. One on their behalf, who left last month told me michV that your brought hope to my life. I may want to tell you that the very same guy had 3rd class and he is now in one of the top 15 schools in Germany studying masters right now. This morning he called me again and said michV send me your account number,to be contd wink .. Germany is the giant amidst the European nations and ranked no.3 in their educational system globally. Those going for pdg/pgc on here and getting refused for visa should embrace this opportunity.

Sorry....I had to quote the entire post.

Boss, this is awesome post.

In my case, when i was applying for Msc. I applied to every top country in europe. But most schools denied me admission (even with good grades), the ones that accepted me, mehn, the visa runs discouraged me because no funding. And then along came China.
This one was God, as in, I applied to the lab, got accepted after series of interviews and was recommended for the Chinese government Scholarship. Lo and behold, the government approved my scholarship. We were 9 students that were approved for my university out of over 100 applicants.
China provided me with the opportunity and means to improve on myself. Boy, I learnt alot and still learning. Everything I learnt will help me even in my PhD in Canada.
In a nutshell, if you have the chance to go somewhere else, please do. Your canadian dream will always be achieved even though it is delayed now.

My opinion.

Boss,
It is not a question of VO or agent. What @michV is trying to say is, the person in question has a very slim chance of been granted visa.

Since S/he has a Bsc, s/he should spread his or her tentacles.

Yes, the case you mentioned above does happen but more often than not it is always 10/100...

Quoting the text in BOLD @michV seemed pretty negative about her chances. I'm here in Canada and I have met different people here. Most of them who finished from Nigerian Universities with 2nd Class Upper went to college. Most of them even have jobs already and some got PR. So unless you're in the system I don't think you should discourage or bring your negativity here.

He is not discouraging anyone, all he is saying is, having alternatives is also good.

Yes you are in the system but the current trend of rejection based on the subject of contention is alarming.

But then it is his opinion though, the concerned party can choose to ignore it.

Good evening boss...

Some Universities in Germany are NOT tuition free for Non-Eu students. You'll pay,.

Even in Tuition free Universities, You'll still need an average of €7000 per year, for accommodation, feeding etc.

€7000 is #2765000-2800000 estimated using Nigerian Form A payment method (Bank/wire transfer)

Places like Hamburg is freaking expensive, and you'll likely require more than €7,000 per annum

Medical insurance in some locations are €100-140 pm (That's expensive)

Not all programs are offered in English language, you may want to do a program, but it is only taught in German language.

You'll need a deutch or Fintiba bank account (where you'll lodge the €7,000+), for visa application, which takes about 8 weeks in Nigeria to Open.

You'll make an appointment for your interview, latest 6 weeks to the start date of your school..

German Embassy conducts Interview, you must be physically present.

You can only work LEGALLY for 240 half days in a year.

So, is Germany good, hell yeah..

Especially if you don't have a very good CGPA (3.7 above) for Masters admission in Canada, though a good CGPA does not guarantee that
But that doesn't mean that their education is of low quality

But the language barrier will surely pose a serious issue, before the completion of your program, it is highly advisable to be at least an intermediate/advanced speaker of German language, most employers don't employ people that can't speak German except in some very few cases..

Germany also has almost similar time zone with Nigeria (GMT +1 and GMT)

Anyways, this is Canada thread, there's a German thread for more information
https://www.nairaland.com/3052025/general-german-visa-enquiries-part

Personally I prefer Canada.
But Germany is also cool, and as a football lover, I am inclined to Germany.

If you are young and have plans to play football professionally, Germany is the right place for you,

By Young I mean Secondary school age (10-20), not football age
wink wink

PS.. If you do a Masters program in Germany, and you get good grades, you stand more chance to get admitted for a PhD program in Canada, that's if you are still interested in moving to Canada.
Same applies for a Degree program in Germany, then Masters program in Canada..

Lastly please, nobody should send me a Pm regarding any of this information..

I don't think anyone is saying going to college is a bad option. Getting a study visa with a college admission is what they are concerned about. We have seen it from past experiences that it is quite difficult and ones application needs to have that extra oomph before it gets approved.
