Ishould sell my Diamond bank on Tuesday grin grin grin grin

No wonder te bank rarely pays dividend cheesy cheesy cheesy

Diamond bank is the most stupid share on NSE. I made a loss of N300k on that stock last week and i have sworn never to buy it again.

I didnt know much about the fundamentals of the company before i sank my fund there but after my loss, i had to research and my findings revealed i was foolish from the word Go.

Diamond sold about 20% of their equity to a foreign partner two years ago in order to get the necessary funds to boost their Tier 1 & 2 capital. That partner has been trapped in the Nigerian market since then and has been desperate to leave.

Hence, the profits of the company for the past two years has been channeled towards paying off the partner and this is expected to continue for the next two years. This same partner has fund managers in the country who manage their holdings and they have been divesting from the company gradually which is why you will notice heavy dumping whenever the share price gets close to N1.

They applying a two pronged approach in leaving the Nigerian market:

1. Sell back shares to the company in return for profits declared ( hence no dividend to other shareholders)

2. Sell shares to uninformed and stupid shareholders whenever the price is right, to reduce their holdings

Guys, CBN is loosening adverse policies on banks. Banks result this year will be far far better than last year.

Oando is already proving me right. Next is fo.

Have you taken time to study the 2016 & QTR 1 2017 results of both companies throughly? If you havent, please do.

If i were you, i would wait for QTR 2 result before concluding. Those stock are high risk at the moment and just the way OANDO climbed in one week, it will come down in 3days if QTR 2 shows any flaws.

ZENITH BANK CLOSES AT 19.13 NAIRA, WHO CARES?
The last time Zenith Bank stock price closed above 19.13 was on 03/07/2015 and ever since, it has acted as a resistance pushing down the stock more and more. Who then cares that Zenith Bank SP closed at 19.13 on last trading day last week? Of course, BullBearMkt does.

What this could imply is that if successfully made 19.13 the support level, the price likely heading for N25 or above with a pause close to 23. Otherwise, if the support cannot hold at 19.13, then there is high probability that the price will pullback to the highlighted area or below for a major pullback.

However, with the ongoing positive sentiment generally in the market, especially towards the banking sector, the odd is in favour of price surge higher.

RISKS
-NSE All Share Index is now in overbought level and could possibly reverse downward anytime. However, with the existing market sentiment, the index can continue to rise at its overbought level
-Zenith Bank to Raise Fund. This is a swing trade and not to be held for long term; exit trade immediately there is news from the bank regarding this

Happy Holidays from BullBearMkt!!!

Mistake #1: TA is not given any order or issuing any command for market to obey
Technical Analysis is the forecasting of future financial price movements based on examination of past price movements. It gives good entry and exit signals.

...Fundamentals cum sentiments drive financial markets.

Just like any other analysis, TA does not result in absolute prediction, hence why you should always use STOP LOSS in your investment decisions.

You are very correct bro and we are on the same page.

The issue is that most people tend to take TA very serious and leave out the fundamentals + market sentiment.

TA is good. But if TA says buy and the fundamentals has issues, please flee. Also if TA says buy but market sentiment is not favorable to the stock, kindly sell too.

Above all, do your due diligence.

Thank you sir for that contributions. I tend to support the latter more. Allow me to re-phrase like this:

...If market sentiment is favourable and TA says BUY, that is a GIVEN, price will rally
...If fundamentals has issues and TA says BUY, that is probable. Probable in the sense that price could possibly rally, however maybe limited. Examples abound recently
...If Fundamental is favourable but TA says don't BUY, the price is going down
...Fundamental+Sentiment+TA=Best Investment Decision (combination)

I respect your post above. Cheers.

Your submission sums it all and i prefer this. I have been following you and Fxuser for a long time wnd i must confess that you guys are the best thing to happen here. Please keep it up.

Let me share something with you: I have never been a fan of FBNH. I came across a TA analysis by one of you guyz on it and it aroused my interest. I had to go read up the 2016 Financials and QTR 1 2017 page by page. Then i saw ihedioramma's post on it. That was a classic case of TA ok, Fundamentals being brought to ok status, and sentiments ok (noticed an individual bought 458million units in one day).

Immediately, i purchased 4m units and as at today, i have a gain of 4m+. But i wont sell. Even for N15!

Why? Thats a N25 stock undervalued by fundamentals.

HOW I PLANNED TO SWING TRADE DIAMOND BANK
Reading through post from @Cadillac15, I was moved by the reported loss and decided to look more into the stock. Interestingly, over the weekend, Diamond Bank stock is on my BUY list for Tuesday market!

Reasons
-Weekly is bullish and showing accumulation
-Daily recently pulled back and last 2 trading days bullish on high volume
-General market sentiment is positive especially towards banking sector

To play smart, I expect little pullback from the current price and then target to take initial profit around recent swing high. Since I know my prediction could be wrong, my STOP LOSS is planned just below 0.85.

Having said that, I will be a long term buyer if price is downgraded to 0.80 or below.

@Processor01, it's not that you place the STOP LOSS as soon as you enter a stock, what it means in essence is that you planned ahead that as soon as the stock price approaches your planned stop loss price, you quickly enter it and exit your trade for nominal loss.

Ordinarily, i wont give a hoot about you given my review of your posting style and comments since i knew your handle. I have classed you from time in the category of peterichy (the octopus), the other one Tritri calls the big foolish guy, and the other handles ihedioramma calls a woman.

I know your penchance for supporting failing stocks up to their death and my only worry is that newbies get deceived by your comments daily.

Which is why i would advice anyone reading this never to take you or any of your stock recommendations serious.

Despite my doubts about OANDO's dividend future, given the hanging debt on their neck, I would buy OANDO any day than put my N1 in FCMB.

Bros. That i dont post here doesn't mean i am a newbie. i follow this thread more than any other thread on nairaland and i can call 20 handles here without looking at my phone.

It might also interest you to know that i have made money from Diamond previously (bought 82k, sold 87k, large vol).

But it annoys me when institutional investors get involved in the manipulation of prices. If you want to leave a company, leave the way you came. Dont come and dump shares on poor uninformed masses trying to make ends meet.

I wont stop you from entering but it is my duty to let you know where you are entering before you do.

Follow TA alone and enter at the current price of 93k. You will beg to sell at 88k like i did.

Dont mind him. He thinks he is talking to a baby. I dumped my shares on Tuesday at 88k when i saw what was going on. Could have waited a little for a rise but i refused.

The current rise is being spurred by market sentiment due to GTB, Stanbic, Zenith and FBNH rally. That doesn't mean fundamentals has been rectified. Even Skye grew by 4k at a point.

If you are deceived to buy he-goat as a cow, with a promise that it will convert to a cow overnite simply because it has four legs and feeds on grass too, then what you will continously have is a goat.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Chibuking81(m): 11:33am On May 29, 2017
Always follow your heart.
1.Don't buy because others are buying.
2. Try to stay away from any stock that try to give you HBP.
3. Law of diminishing return always take place in NSEM, some stocks has seen their pick, reverse will be the case within this new week, while some down stock will move up.
4. I hate stock market manipulators, be careful of some manipulative stocks.
5. One of the best way to buy/ invest, is to know company recent history of EPS.
Any stock that maintain growth in their EPS for q1,2,3,4, is good stock, but anyone that loses but still grow in their stock price is a manipulative stock.

Thats the issue. People will never talk of good stocks. They prefer to trade it silently until you notice. We are all here to make profit and as such, one man's loss will be another man's gain.

Its very rare for people to openly mention their goldmine when they are not done mining yet and i would not have mentioned FBNH if i have not gotten my required units.

But there is a way you can know on time. FOLLOW THE TRADE VOLUMES! No big investor is a fool and it is very rare for an individual to suddenly purchase a stock with N1B+ if he or she has not seen an info you are not aware of.

Hope you learnt something?

The big guys are exiting this stock. But they have to do so at target prices. The catch is that it is easier for them to exit in a volatile (up and down) situation.

If the Nigerian investors who want to buy are united, they should simply chill, do not bid, and this stock will go down to N0.8.

Then they can buy. The current ups and downs end up providing liquidity for the foreign guys to exit at higher prices.

This is, trying to cause unnecessary panic for its shareholders.

Do you have a copy of the agreement between Carlyle group and the bank.

Care to show us links indicating Carlyle are hastily trying to withdraw all their funds from the bank?

This information would have been relevant, if you posted it when the economy was in deep recession and foreign investors were fleeing in their numbers. And not now when they are signs that the economy is recovering and foreign investors are gradually coming back. You're now telling us that one of is them is crying and desperate to leave by fire by force.

Uncle, if your jijo with the bank did not go as planned, it's not enough reason to spread FUD with irrelevant links

Disc: I hold a significant amount and my position is negative. But the bank is not as bad as this oga is trying to paint it.
