Economic experts have cautioned the Federal Government against further borrowing, saying the country’s debt profile of N19tn portends danger for the economy.

They said the country’s debt, which has been increasing in the last few years, was becoming unsustainable as it might be difficult to service it due to the revenue challenges facing the country.

Muhammed said Nigerians needed to be worried about the country’s debt burden rising at a faster rate than revenue generation.

He stated that if something urgent was not done to shore up revenue, it would be difficult for the government to meet its debt servicing obligation.

He said, “The debt profile is scaring and worrying. It’s not a bad thing to borrow but it is good to be assured of the sustainability of the borrowing. If you go on a borrowing spree, then it will be difficult to service this debt when you don’t have the capacity to pay.

“We are not earning as much as we should, and there is need for the government to focus on bringing in investors into these sectors that funds are being borrowed to finance. We can use the PPP model and allow people to bring their money, while the government provides the conducive atmosphere like tax incentives and others.”

I digged up JB 2014, 2015 and 2016 AFS. Bilfinger SE holding is still intact.

Disclosure: JB makes up one of my substantial holdings.

Oga i wonder why you talk about this Wema bank everytime.
How many experts/analysts have you seen talking about this stock?
Did you buy it just because the market is on the move or what purpose?
Stocks without fundamentals,no good market sentiments are too risky to discuss about now.
I am even selling off my skye bank today to hold my cash at hand.

what's amusing you? The stock is 10% up this morning with no offer. I'm not even saling now. My question is against the future...I think the bank's year high is .88k. Well let's watch and see what the next two days look like

Did you just say 10% up?
If you think the stock is appreciating now,i think now is also the best time to waka with your loot before your profit is erased.

don't underestimate the power of a bullish mkt. I don't think that any bank should be saling below .80k by weekend. Hope you are watching the move of Skye which is the worst performing bank in Nigeria now!

wema has released their 2017 1st qtr result, unlike Skye. If time is not taken, i think wema will get to 1N. My question earlier is just for me to fix an exit price

wema is .60k now, however I didn't say that I sell at N1. I said, I think it could reach N1. Don't worry I'll sale very soon, but not now now. Watch out what's happening in Skye. Which other bank is cheaper than wema, these are things you consider in bullish mkt

Many banks are still cheaper than Wema, eg Zenith, Gtb,fbnh.Though wema may be cheap in it's own class.
Except you are just referring to price tag which don't work in isolation in the market. prices work with other metrics.
