What are the similarities between the research areas the school offers and your career goals?

What's the content of the coursework offered there (curriculum)?

What appeals to you about their faculty members aside class attendance e.g. current academic projects?

pls check ur mail. thanks

You would need to provide some docs like admission letter, recipient details, passport, etc. Walk into a branch and ask for the list of what they need. Submit, then fund your account and wait. That's all!

neurosci:

So no one has an answer to this question? Okay, those of you in the US; how have you been paying your fees from Nigeria apart from using a domicialiary account?

If the statement is not later than 6 months, then you're fine. All interviews are unique, so you may or may not be asked for it eventually (I wasn't asked), but it's safe to take it and any other supporting documents with you.
pls isvit advisable to use foreign statement of account. The one i used for the sch?

VISA Approved today at Abuja. 7:30am batch. I'v been mostly silent here. My transcript is as follows:

Me: Good Morning (smiling and maintaining an eye - contact with him)
V.O: Good morning

V.O: Pass your passport and i20
Me: I obliged

V.O: Why TAMUK?
Me: I chose TAMUK cos it offers a concentration in renewable energy and biofuels production processes; this aligns with my ultimate goal of being a specialist in Alternative energy (got a similar line from Chrisdavinci's transcript)

V.O: What was ur undergraduate major?
Me: Chemical Engineering

V.O: How did you know abt TAMUk?
Me: I researched on schools online with a bias towards my research interests. I drew up a list of 5 schools out of which I got two offers [V.O Chipped in; what's the other school..Missouri University of Science and Technology ]. I made use of online resources such as msinus.com, U.S News and World Reports.....

V.O: Who would be paying your fees?
Me: I received a scholarship that qualifies me for a measure of tuition waiver in the form of in-state tuition (got a similar line from iCool's transcript) and my mum will be completing the rest

V.O: What does she do?
Me: Told him

He demanded for her financial statement, showed him and he approved my application. I'd love to thank everyone on this thread for making things easy. Everything you need to succeed at the embassy is present here. My piece of advice to hopefuls is that; settle everything mentally. Be prayerful and remember the Consulate officers are humans; eliminate all forms of fear. seeker88 and chrisdavinci during ..thanks for helping me out during my application. Thanks all

pls your mail

Good Evening House! Thanks for all your hardwork smiley

I am about to begin processing my app to Uni of Minnesota for a Masters in Accounting in Jan 2018 (currently in the process of renewing my international passport).

I completed my Bsc in accounting in Malaysia and got a 2.9/4. I want to know if I'll still be required to write any exams like GRE or Gmat before I'll be considered for admission (considering i completed my bsc outside Nigeria) ....thanks!

It is a generated code. It should start with letter, in capital letter. Have you completed it? if so, did you send a confirmation to your e-mail? If you can't find the confirmation code, you must fill another one.

Even if you completed your program here in the US, you'll still need GRE if the school is asking for it

I really wanna appreciate God almighty for everything. I have been on this journey since part6 (2014) but my visa was denied three times, so I had to take up other alternatives here by working at my place of work till God will say YES,. I also applied to Canada last year (Brandon University, Masters in Environmental & Life science) but visa was denied after 9weeks for Travel history & insufficient funds. All I believe is God's time will always be the best.. (Story for another day before Oga justwise go vex)

Fastfoward(Today). As I wake up around 3am, I think say na 7am.. Naso I rush do some normal routine serenre, dey rehearse how i fit take compose normally infront of the VO without fucking up. @Fredoricko called me some minutes later to congratulate me in advance, lol. Didn't leave my house until 5am, mhen, the rain wey fall today na ontop my head o. As I manage reach obalende, naso the rain con heavy, Mogbe,. I just pull off, carry my documents under my singlet, buttoned my shirt up to my neck, make rain no drop onto any of those stuff..

I got to the embassy around 6:10am.. I quickly joined the queue for 6:30appointment, Naso person shouted my name from the queue. *Ojah, wetin you con do for embassy*. (In my mind, I con meet my grandpapa). He is a friend from Unilag, going for MSc in Chemistry at MTSU with assistanship. Naso we con dey follow eachother like instagram on every stage from outside till the biometric stage.
Unfortunately, he was denied, as I stood behind him, as directed by the CGI guy, to be interviewed by the same VO (woman in her early 30s) in window 5..
The guy sef bleep up. VO was asking him "Why the school" and the guy dey tell VO say the school get nice building bla bla.. As she give am 214b, my mind cut.. Naso I carry myself go meet her..

Me: Goodmorning Ma'am

VO: (Didn't answer), Pass me your documents.
I obliged, Naso she dey type for some seconds..

VO: why are you going to USA

ME: I am going to USA to pursue my Masters in Geosciences with concentration in Palynology & Paleoenvironmental studies at GSU

VO: why Georgia state University

ME: I chose GSU because they offers concentration in Palynology.......(she cuts in)

VO: (Re-adjusts mic).Calm down, I don't really know about sciences, just explain your research interest to me so that I can understand..

ME: Like I said earlier (Now talking slowly and she was looking at me) I'd be going for MSc Geosciences, with concentration in Palynology, & Paleoenvironmental studies,. During this time, I'd be working directly with Dr ****** , we would be working on the Application of Plant pollen, its fossils and other palynological evidences in reconstruction of Past environment of the Quatenary(Pleistocene & Holocene Era).

VO: what course did you study in your undergraduate?

ME: Botany, I majored in Environmental Botany & Palynology

VO: (Nods*, and looking through my i20), You were given tuition waiver?

ME: Yes ma'am, Full tuition waiver with stipends.

VO: (Typing and looking at her screen). You applied to University of Baltimore before?

ME: (Mheen, my mind first cut, as Ubalt stuff was 3years ago and I was denied 3times in 2014).. Yes ma, I applied to study Forensic science but my visa was denied due to my inability to show home ties.

VO: Tell me about this course.

ME: I'd be required to complete 36credit hours in 28months. 15credit hours of core courses, 9credit hours of Electives, 3credit hours of seminar and 9credit hours of research thesis. (VO cuts in again, and fear come over catch me)

VO: what courses will you be taking?

ME: Physical & historical geology, Advanced Aqueous Geochemistry, Advanced Geoinformatics, Environmental Geology, Environmental conservation, Fossil plant & Paleoenvironment, Geobiology, Hydrology, Climate & weather.......

VO: (types like 2mins, Naso she put hand for where her blue papers dey.. My mind Don cut!.. She just carry one white paper from the upper box and drop my passport with her). You will get your visa in 3days at this location bla bla bla.. Naso I collect my i20, sevis printout and the white paper

ME: Thank you ma'am.

Special thanks to my bosses here.. @Slimmy2005, this guy perused my ds160 over and over again, he also paid the app fee of TAMUK without collecting a dime from me.. Thanks boss.., @Bobority, thank you bimbo, always helping me anytime anyday, God bless you dear,. @Mystiqme, Oga mi, thank you boss (This guy paid for my i20 to be sent through eshipglobal), i owe you big. @Walspring, thanks for the sevis payment, your head is valid,. @Baodium,@Djmakson, @bayocanny @Happney65, @Fredoricko, @Ponpon, @hublot, @mimi17 @Libber my baby, @amofum..
