but common sense should tell you that it is wrong of anyone to harm d igbos resident in the north for the action of a man agitating down east. nothing justifies that! if they are angry with nk,they should make itopen n confront him.

What of the anti-Hausa/Yoruba music that is also in circulation in the East?

It is easy to play the victim when the truth is half-revealed.

That said, no one should have to live in fear in his own nation. The federal government has to seat up to its duty of engaging the hate propaganda permeating the Nigerian political stratosphere of the day.

Secession can be successfully accomplished without hate messages and threats to lives and properties.

I have been saying that. We can successfully divide this country without spilling any blood. If we can't live with each other peacefully, we can peacefully go our different ways.

Nairaland, is a breeding ground for hate. So much venom coming out from people because they think they are antonymous.

But this is what the people truly feel. Should we continue papering the cracks? The union ain't working bro!

Don't cry for any Igbo person killed in the North.

Agha akara aka anaghi eri ngwuro. So osisi nuru na aga egbu ya kwuru.

Thinking of war, the North is geographically disadvantaged. Igbo and SS chasing them up from the south while Boko Haram is chasing them down from the north. Where will they go? If ND militants can access 50 cals from the porous borders, will Nigeria military fight with their outdated AK47s? A lot of countries have oil in their backyards so their is no incentives to assist Nigeria like in the 60s. I hope Nigeria is not relying on highly demoralized military that cannot fight ragtag Boko Haram food soldiers. That's assuming that the Nigerian battalion that ran into Cameroun ever came back. Push comes to shovr, a lot of you will be drafted to fight the war. Then you can put your gragra where your mouth is.

It's obvious that most Igbo posters here are already scared of what may befall the great Igbo nation because of the hate speeches emanating from IPOB and Nnamdi kanu. 1967-2017, no lesson learnt.
I just pray everything is resolved amicably

It's not foolish. At least if I arm myself (assuming I'm in the North) I will kill at least one or two people before I am finally felled. But a sitting duck is the foolish thing to do.
If the Arewas know that they may die the process of slaughtering the Igbos, they. may have a rethink before they attack.
And of course, there will be reprisal attacks in the east.

If anything will happen the north wont announce it unlike this declaration that was released. Nothing will happen.

But let me tell you, once the north is out for a goal, no amount of your defense will make it rethink. Secondly there are 10 times igbos in north than Hausa in the south. Your reprisal attack is as good as nothing

We don't wanna go invest in the east. When I did my one year vocational course in the east, most of us Yorubas were scared to our pants as we crossed the niger bridge. The place looked dull, dingy and desolate. The soil was red, the people aggressive and it all just seemed out of place. We(yorubas) were always huddled together when we went outta the school compound because the people just seemed weird and knew we were Yoruba. On one occasion, an old man threatened to inflict harm on me just because, according to him, yorubas were responsible for their loss in the civil war. Can one just imagine that, what do I have to do with their loss in the civil war? I would not advice any Yoruba to invest or live in the east because the igbos themselves always want to escape the place so why should a foreigner go there?

The onus is on the igbos to stay put and develop the place. Maybe them other Nigerians will be willing to live and invest in the east.
[/s]

You must have been a Jack ass to be treated that way because there are thousands of Yoruba peeps that are happily doing businesses in Igboland

As for the development part, tell me a place apart from lagos in your brown roof region more developed than the southeast?

Yes. People are tired of Nigeria, but most of those spewing hate speeches cannot even condemn their various leaders looting away their common wealth.
The Hausa cobbler or suya man trying to eke out a living is not the problem of the Igbo apprentice learning trade from his mentor. The Yoruba, civil servant rushing off as early as 4 am, is not the problem of the Hausa cobbler or Igbo apprentice.
Our leaders have failed to make the common wealth of Nigerian useful to Nigerians and all we feel is that hating or killing the weak is gonna solve our problems.

It is just the way the igbos are. Please read there was a country by Chinua Achebe. There was a chapter where he aptly described the Igbo as having this unnecessary hubris. I guess it is what makes them who they are. And it draws undue hate and resentment from others. What can we do? This is the same thing that has impeded them from ascending the throne of Presidency in Nigeria and threatens to deny them the highest office in the land if votes are to be cast.

Nigerians tire for their matter abeg.

When Ojukwu asked for the easterners to be allowed to go and develop their East, your fathers and their oyibo enablers killed millions of them in the name of one Nigeria. So why murder all those people in the first place if you don't want them to all over the country? Only a Blackman is capable of the level of malice and deceit going on in Nigeria
