Ofcourse, my idea of world class is you must be at least top 5 in your position at any point in your Career, not necessarily now but at any point in your Career or at least win the player of the season at a Major European league(EPL, Laliga, Bundesliga and seria A)

The only world class players currently playing in EPL are :

Coutious, D.Costa, Hazard, Fabregas, Kante, Harry Kane,Hugo Lloris, Aguero, Kompany, D.Silva, Yaya Toure, Coutinho, Petr Cech, Sanchez, Ozil, De Gea, Ibrahimovic, Pogba, Mkhitaryan,Matic, Mahrez and Baba Wazza.

Luiz, Alderweireld, Kocsielny, Mata, Azpilicueta, Jesus, Lukaku,Mane, Lacazzete and Bailly are good players but are not world class.

Azpilicueta is just a very good player that hardly puts a foot wrong but, is the 3rd choice RB at the national team behind juanfran and Dani carvajal. He is good a good player but not world class.. Kompany at his prime will walk into any national team

If Kompany was a Spanish player, Ramos and Pique would've made sure he rots on the bench. The Fabregas that you listed as world-class played understudy to Xavi and Iniesta. To get a shirt during Spain's dominant era no be moi-moi.

So national team levels plays a part in it. I still consider Kompany as a top defender, though. Koscielny is a quality defender, the team he plays for are not top quality.

There are exceptions to every rule or to some rules, and using my European titles benchmark will see Dortmund topple Assnal, but I believe Arsenal is bigger than Dortmund.

When it comes to total trophies, Assnal beats them. When it comes to number of leagues won, Assnal beats them. Assnal loses out against them in the European scene but with more financial warchest, fans, more power to compete for players over Dortmund, I'll go for Assnal being bigger than Dortmund.


It's highly debatable, but I think I'll go with Assnal on this one.

Assnal have made the UCL final though not as recent as Dortmund's. Finalist doesn't matter anyway, it's the trophy that counts the most. Plus Dortmund aren't the force they used to be when they reached that stage.

Arsenal FC is clearly a bigger club than BVB Dortmund. One could even argue that they are bigger than Inter as well.

Inter's 18 League titles are cosmetic dressing; they won 5 on the trot during the collapse of the Italian league following matchfixing allegations to Juve and AC Milan.

The San Siro is not their exclusive preserve as they share it with AC Milan.

They are no longer internationally more recognised than Arsenal, Worth far less and do not control the sort of followership (both social media and otherwise) that Arsenal FC does.

I don't know what else can be used to rate which the bigger club is, but using UCL titles is grossly simplistic as Celtics, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest have done exactly that and are still minnows in the grand scheme of things.

That being said. Azpilicueta never reached the level of Kompany. Kompany at his Peak was among the best.
