do you know that if that was nigerian in another country that the immigration found out that he or she overstayed, they will send you to face immigration charges immediately? yes she said it was manipulated but what if she is lying?

The 2 months visa she received at the Nigerian embassy doesn't mean she is allowed to be in the country for 2 months, how long she is allowed to be in the country is based on the discretion of the immigration officer who stamped her in. I'm guessing she was stamped in for 30 days, but she stayed for 5 weeks. If my permutation is correct, she overstayed and is subject to a fine. This is how it's done worldwide. A Nigerian who gets a 6 month visit visa to the UK/US doesn't mean he/she can stay in the UK/US for 6 months, how long he/she stays is dependent on the immigration officer at Heathrow/JFK who stamps him/her in.

We all know our public institutions reek of corruption, no news there.

How can they tell her she overstayed. Even if she overstayed, that does not mean she cannot travel out of Nigeria. Why holding her to ransom. Tell me one country you travel to and their immigration officer are demanding for money the way they do at Nigeria Airports..
