CHAPTER ELEVEN

ARIC P. O. V
I began breathing laboriously as soon as the pain subsided. I can't even pinpoint where the excruciating pain came from. The bullshit pain just attacked every of my body part and to make matter worse Vagan is nowhere to be found.

I tried standing up but went down for the second time.After trying to find my feet for the umpteenth time,i gave up and I just laid straight down on the grasses.

I jolted up from my sleep,picking my sword in one swift motion and stood in a bear stance.I looked around and Vagan was laughing really hard. Mehn I had made a fool of myself.I just sat back down and relaxed my back against a tree.

"What happened here Aric?.I just heard your scream and I ran down here only to find you asleep" Vagan said recovering from the laugh.

"I don't know.I was on the verge of looking for your old self but couldn't as a pain I've never felt before enveloped me" I replied rubbing my hands through my disheveled dark hair.

"Hahahahahahah.... I didn't know the great ARIC SHANE can get freaked out by just a pain" The sage said rolling on the floor with laughter making his stomach vibrate.

"What the heck is wrong with this old man.Laughing like someone that just won a jackpot"I whispered in my mind as I was just shaking my head.

"Did I just hear you say jackpot?" The laughing sage said.

What the Bleep!!!!!!!!

"So you can read my mind?"I asked.

"Of course yes,your mind is as open to me as water...hahahhahahahahah" Vagan said bursting into another round of laughter.

All I could just do was look at the sage and wonder where he gets all his powers.

"We should proceed in our journey boy. Time is against us" Vagan said and got up.

"Time??.Wait Vagan,after I get my powers what is it that we want to be fighting.this one you are just shouting since that there is no time,i don't really comprehend your bullshit"I said also getting up.

"Well, you don't have to comprehend my bullshit.Just do as I say and what's that on your left arm.

I checked my left arm and released a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"What is this?"I asked showing him my arm.

KING GREGOR P.O.V
"Thank you sire,i will perform the ritual as you've stated" I said

"You are welcome my king" Seth,the diviner said standing up and preparing to leave.

I looked at the old diviner steadily finding his way out of the court.This man has been a soothsayer for all the kings that has ruled this kingdom and am sure he will still foretell the future for many kings to come.

His staff had become his third leg over the years as he can't walk well without It. People say an infant has four legs which is the two hands and two knees, an adult has two legs and old men and women has three legs which is both the two legs and a walking stick.

I wonder how that statement was formed,anyway it's right though.I watched as Seth was trying to manoeuvre himself out of the court. His bending frame and white loose garment tied at his left shoulder was even making things difficult.

I got up and went to assist the diviner.I put one of his arm around my shoulder and the other arm held the staff. That way we were quick to get to the door.

"my son make sure you do as I say"He said before exiting.

I nodded and ordered two of my guards to help the old sire to his house.

I got back to the court and sat on my throne examining the five red candles the diviner had given me.

"It's high time we see each other green-eyed creature" I said in my mind.

The door of the court opened and my little heir came in.

Dressed In a sky-blue jean,a white shirt and with his brown hair brushed and styled,he looked too young for a boy of fourteen.He had a sword strapped to his back creating that fear in anyone that wanna harm him.

"Dad,it's time for training" He said.

SEBASTIAN P. O. V
"No Peace,you have to place your arms this way and then shoot" I said demonstrating.

We were outside the house and i was teaching Peace some advance moves in archery. Stuffs like how to catch an arrow bare handed and the no-look arrow shooting. Well she already got the two and now the next step is combining the two methods at the same time.

"Peace,there are times you run out of arrows during battles and what you will be left with will just be an empty quiver. At that time you will be vulnerable and weak unless you are a good swordsman.So mastering this two methods will make you have an edge when battling" I said giving her more enlightenment.

"that's right dad,so how do we do this move?"She asked.

I looked at the eagerness of my daughter to learn just like that of Aric. I would have been much more happy if Aric were to be my son but I should just let fate has it way.

"Very good question.So all we do is simple.lets assume you are out of arrows and all you are left with is nothing.Now I will fire an arrow in which you will catch with your hands and you will fire it back straight away" I briefed her.

"That's nice but are you sure you can catch the arrow" She asked me.

"Your just being paranoid my daughter,fighting was what I was born to do" I replied laughing.

"ARE YOU READY?!!!!" I shouted when I recovered from the laugh.

"More than ever" She replied and readied her stance.

"Now close your eyes, let me go hide.Remember you must fire back in the direction of which the arrow comes from.

She nodded and gave me the just-bring-it-on look which got me satisfied. And with that I was out in the bush looking for a nice place to hide.

I found a tall tree a minute later and climbed it.I could see her moving in circles and listening for the slightest bit of sound.

I notched my arrow to the bow and pulled it looking for the right time to fire. As soon as she got her back turned to me, I fired.

I watched as the arrow got near her and what she did next got me thinking of Aric.

She did a side flip and caught the arrow in mid-air.And as soon as she landed,she fired back.

Mehn that was freaking awesome!!!!!!!

I was still shocked about the move when I realized that an arrow was coming my way.

I caught the well aimed arrow inches from my left eye.If I had slacked a bit,mehn I would have been turned into a one eyed man.

CHAPTER TWELVE

ARIC P. O. V
It's almost night already and we are yet to find the ring. The gods had made things easier for us or so Vagan had said when he saw what was on my left arm. I checked my left arm and the arrow was still there glowing in a glorious manner.

Sage Vagan had said that the arrow was the guide to the lost ring and we must follow it strictly else we will be lost forever in this temple.I checked the arrow and it was still pointing forward.

We were now in a large dark opening and the only source of light was the magical lamp Vagan brought along.

"Am tired Vagan" I said

"I was about to say the same thing Aric, let's make a camp here" He said.

I brought down my backpack and began looking for a suitable clearing.I found one and I began making a tent.

In no time I was done with the tent and started making a fire. I collected the sticks around,put them together and using two stones, I ignited the sticks.Vagan sat down around the fire and I sat beside him bringing out waffles and porridge from my backpack.I served the food into the plate I brought along and handed it to the sage.We started eating and in two minutes time,we were through. I packed the plates and used nearby leaves to cleanse the plates.Mehn am not used to this kind of life but I just don't have any choice.

I came back to my initial position beside Vagan as soon as I was through with the plates.Vagan handed his pouch full of water to me and I drank to my satisfaction.

"This will still be enough to feed us for five days" I said pointing at the food and water in both of our backpacks.

"Yes my son" Vagan replied.

"So tell me what is it that will destroy the world and all that?" I asked.

"Hmmmmmn,Aric there is a long way to go and it won't be long before the world will be turned inside out" The sage replied almost crying.

"What's wrong with this geezer Mehn.just keep lamenting about a goddam war. This is bullshit seriously" I thought.

"A war is coming up boy. I can feel it,sense it, taste it and also hear it.Just promise me you will make the world proud" Vagan said looking at the burning fire lost in thought.

"Well I promise to bring peace to Nissin if it's within my capacity" I replied.

"C'mon give me your hand boy" I did as he ordered.

As soon as our hands met,an invisible force made me raised my head upwards and I was sent to a place I don't even know about.

I emerged at a dark room illuminated by candles placed on the wall and except that there is nothing of great importance.I was still moving around the room when a man came into the room. The man should be in his late 50s.He had a chalk and eight candles in his hand.We locked eyes and I was frozen where I was. I had intrude a man's house.The man looked away and dropped all that was with him on the ground.

"Hello" I greeted.

No answer.

"Hello"

Still no answer.

I gave up after trying for like six times and decided to move closer.I got to where the man was and tried touching him but my hand just went through him.

"WHAT THE Bleep!!!!!!!" I gasped.

The man turned and walk right through me as if I wasn't there.
"This is getting serious mehn" I said.

I just resolved into watching what the man was doing and by now he was drawing something with the chalks he came in with.

After about five minutes,he was through with the drawing and I was amazed because he had drawn a pentacle which means this man must be a powerful sorcerer.

He placed five candles on the edges of the pentacle and placed the remaining
three on the edges of the triangle drawn in the pentacle.

He sat down at one of the edges of the pentacle and began some incantations which goes thus:

"# I CALL UPON THE POWERS OF EARTH IMBIBED ONTO A PENTACLE.
O GOD KRONI!! I SUMMON THE FERAKUS IN THY HOLY NAME. SNADONKA OF THE FERAKU DEMON, I SUMMON THEE. I USE THE POWER OF PENTACLES TO SUMMON THE GREAT DEMON.ARISE AND LISTEN TO MY COMMAND.
I SUMMON THEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!#"

"I shouldn't have come here in the first instance" I said in my mind as what I saw next nearly made me blackout.

In the triangle drawn at the centre of the pentacle,a hole emerged and a FUCKING MASSIVE BEAST CAME OUT!!!!!!!!!!.

The beast was about ten feet tall, large and veins was just bulging out from his neck.The beast had a green skin and two massive horns that is enough to scare a Griffin.The creature turned and I was surprised to see that we both share the same eye colour.The green eyed monster turned and the muscles on his arms and legs is enough to make you faint if visualized.

"WHAT DID THOU WANT FROM ME YE MORTAL?" The creature asked looking at the man.

Even the earth rumbled at the sound of his voice and then the man raised his head to talk but was not able to as the door opened and another man came in.

But this second man looks like Sage Vagan. I took a good look and found out that it was sage Vagan maybe when he was younger.

"What have you done brother?" Vagan asked and the earlier man turned his head away from the beast and lost complete focus.He summoned a spell and bits of rocks emerged from the ground.He then sent it towards the direction of sage Vagan. The stuff hit the sage and he was sent reeling backwards from the force of the spell.

Sage Vagan landed on one of the candles and all other candles was blown off.I looked at the creature and he smirked.The beast stepped out of the pentacle but the earlier man was quick to observe that and so summoning another spell, he sent it to the direction of the beast but the beast just smiled and brought his massive hand straight down on the floor of the room making the man stumbling and fell from the impact of the force.

The beast carried the man up and placed his right thumb on the man's forehead and began saying some incoherent words.

Suddenly both the eyes of the beast and the man began glowing yellow and something was been passed out of the beast to the man.

All the while sage Vagan was busy doing some rites or so I had thought.sage Vagan cut his hand and he drew a circle with the blood coming out of his thumb.He said some words which were:
FORMATION OF A REALM.
INCOTINE NIDAN SANGANISTI BAKUSA INTELLIPTI EN GURAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A big hollow circle appeared in front of him. It looks like a portal but much bigger. I turned my attention towards the beast and was surprised to see that the beast was getting smaller while the man was getting bigger,taller and more stronger.A minute later the beast had turned to ashes and the earlier man had turned to the monster. The only difference is that the second beast formed had the head of the man.

The man-like beast advanced towards sage Vagan but an invisible force sapped him into the big hollow circle little Vagan had created.

I opened my eyes and the first person I saw was sage Vagan.

"so my son,what did you see?" The sage asked.

I looked left and right and found out that I was still in the tent I had made earlier with the fire still burning.

"I don't understand any of them Vagan" I said.

"Let me explain to you Aric.The man you saw was my apprenticeship mate.We served under the same lord and that was like nine hundred years ago.It got to a time when the position of another lord was to be taking and since we were the only two sorcerers capable, we were told to engage in a fight in which I eventually won. And so in his angry state,he tried calling upon SNADONKA,a demon to destroy the world.Am sure you saw that beast?" he asked.

"of course I did"i answered.

"He succeeded in doing so but he lost focus when I barged in making the beast to break out of the holding spell.
Now,the beast did something which I don't think you really understood.The monster placed his soul inside that of my apprenticeship mate named Michael.That's why you saw that the beast turned to ashes" Vagan said.

"Is that all,what was the stuff you did all about?" I asked.

"I created a realm in which I sealed with my blood for the beast to be placed in so that humans won't be harmed but that move cost me a lot" Vagan said with his eyes watering.

"Am listening" I said.

"I lost every of my family and half of my magical powers was sapped away.that's what comes with formation of a realm" Vagan answered already crying.

that picture is just a description of what I meant by a pentacle and if you really observed the picture there is triangle formed at the middle... just that there were no candles at the edges of the triangle..... so you just assume it was there........ thanks for reading

CHAPTER THIRTEEN.

The market was busy and crowdy.Everywhere is just so congested that I keep colliding with several people. I can't even count how many people have said "sorry" to this afternoon.The sun was even making matter worse as it was just visible in the horizon and scorching like never before. I was happy I wore a light blue shirt coupled with a black trouser and a matching pair of boots.The atmosphere was kinda smelling bad and that's due to the sweat being produced from everyone in the market coupled with some stale stuffs some traders are displaying on their respective counters.I adjusted my old,brown hat and approached the section where potatoes are being sold in the market.

I bumped into a lady.oh! No.I bumped into a girl,a very pretty one spilling all what she held on the floor of the market.

"Am really sorry miss" I quickly mumbled bending down to help her pack her things.

"it's nothing" She replied also bending to get there stuffs.

"Mehn, that was a hell of sweet voice" I said in my mind.

We both locked eyes when she bent down and i was carried away. She had a fluffy brown hair which was neatly packed and brown eyes that is enough to wake a dead man. I looked further down and saw her splufic lips glaring at me.I resisted the urge to kiss her lips there and then but something caught my attention.A chain which was gingerly worn on her neck.

I pried more closely and I ascertained my already brought up hypothesis.This chain got me thinking Mehn. I was brought back to the market by the sound of her voice.

"Thank you so much Mister" Her voice rang in my brain.

"Your welcome" I replied absentmindedly.

I just stood there dwelling on what the girl has left on me.
"Where could she have gotten that chain? "I said in my mind.

Even the feeling I got when I set my eyes on her is also something I just can't forget.Like the feeling of someone I know.My brain is really hurting right now due to all the thinking coupled with the hot sun.

I was wondering who the girl could be when I remembered that I had forgotten to ask her about her name.

I turned to ask her but she was gone.
Real! Real! Gone!

Dammit man!!!!!

I snapped out of my thoughts and proceeded with the buying I came to do and in less than 5 minutes, I was through.

I got to our home which was at the outskirt of town and was welcomed by my mom.

I stepped into the house and mom came out from the kitchen dressed in a short pink gown with an apron tied across her waist.

"Welcome Albert" Mom said as she collected all the foodstuffs from me.

"thanks mom but that gown is too short you know" I said pointing at her gown.

"Of course I know but don't worry Albert, I will change it" she said and disappeared into the kitchen.

I roll with my mom. We see each other as mates and I really love her.It's just a pity that dad is no more.

Mom said he has been long gone even before I was born. It's really hard growing up with no father but I have to move on with my life especially when I have a loving mother.

I touched the pendant which was attached to the chain placed on my neck.Mom had given me a fortnight ago when I had my fifteenth birthday and she said the chain was one no one can ever possess except me alone.

I keep wondering how this mysterious girl can have that chain. I twirled the pendant of the chain and the words "GARRICK SHANE" was boldly written at the back.

I was almost done with the preparations of the rites and all that's left is to step into the triangle I had drawn which was surrounded by five red candles.

I was on my black trouser only and ready to see the creature that finds its way to my dream. I went to the corner of the room I was and picked up the three gem stones. It's the stones that will prevent me from being trapped in my own mind forever as what am about to do is something powerful and dark magically.

I stepped into the middle of the triangle and I began casting the spells.

"# GUDANA SHORONE BREGDAN HORUS SHOKUS SHOW YOURSELF GREEN BEAST!!!!!!!!! DASAHI JEJERUL DUN PAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "#

The room began shaking and there was a gust of wind being blown to me directly. I raised my arm so as to shield my eyes of the dusts accompanying the wind.

I pulled down my arm and I was back to the cell-like room I always find myself when dreaming.

I was seated at the edge of River Astra. My legs was in the river and I was enjoying the river waves splashing on my legs.

My mind flashed to my encounter with the boy at the market.He looked so much like Aric if not for the brown hair he had and it's kind of amazing that we both share the same kind of fluffy brown hair.He had the same green eyes that Aric has, same height and kind of same voice.

Or are my being paranoid??

No it can't be, my observation is kinda right.I will have to dwell on that later.

I really wish Aric is here.I held the chain on my neck and kissed it.

"Am missing you Aric" I said looking at the horizon.

I examined the chain and it's was a product of good work. I held the pendant attached to the chain and turned it where "Aric Shane" was boldly written.

"King Gregor made that himself when both Aric and Garrick was six months old" I heard the voice of mom.
