Mine was when I was about 12 or 13 years old. My mum was a food vendor at a bus stop in Lagos at that time. I witnessed an accident from beginning to the end as I saw trailer that had no brakes crushed pedestrians waiting for buses at the bus stop on that fateful Tuesday morning.


There was a TATA bus in front that eventually stopped the trailer but a fully loaded 18 seater bus was compressed between the bus and the trailer. I saw scores of lifeless dismembered human bodies that day.



The papers later reported 12 deaths when I personally counted over 30 lifeless bodies. I was terrified for days.




The other one was just last month when my father died in my arms. That was the very first time someone would die in my presence and it wasn’t easy.

I saw corpses lay rigid on the ground, heads, arms and
legs everywhere. Bodies of those who went to petrol were burnt beyond recognition... Very terrible

mine was when I was at the hospital with my baby mama who is to be delivered of a beautiful girl....in the middle of the night, they brought a woman who has complications during delivery somewhere, she was bleeding and her husband was only on boxers and singlet.... the nurses requested for 4k before they could attend to her, husband came to the hospital penniless..... she was dump by one side until she bled to death on a cold harmattan night....I can never forget that day...the husband just start walking into the darkness, and the nurses were like he should coman carry his wife's corpse or else they will charge him if they take her body to the morgue...
I hated nurse from that day.

On sunday sep 12 2010.
I carried my late father all by myself into the ambulance.
Deposited his body at the mortuary and watched the mortuary attendants took him in.

My puppy swallowed 1 part of cow hoof.
I was watching her and hopping she would have an intestine blockage and die after some days.
To my surprise she was able to digest the cow hoof.

Mine happened on the 7th of may 2017. I was driving to church when the unexpected happened. I just went blank,really can't explain what happened. My vision was just blank and when i regained consciousness, i was already struggling with the car. I sha hit the street light on the expressway. D force uprooted the pole a bit and the lamps on it shattered. The car was a write off.

On a normal day, i would neva use seatbelt but that day i just used it and i thank God for that cos the car somersaulted after it hit the pole and i was upside down. Car caught fire too. Glass shattered,tyre was somewhere else. The car squeezed like paper. The only place that was not affected was where i was seated.
I did not even know the car was on fire cos i was struggling with the seatbelt till i started hearing ppl screaming "Jesus, fire" . Stupid seatbelt won't even budge. Ppl had 2 turn the car even as it was on fire and used their fire extinguisher 2 quench the fire b4 they could bring me out.
I came out with jst a little injury on my leg and scratch on my hand. No one believed i would come out alive cos of the condition of the car. Even when the lasema officials came, and were asking for the accident victim, i was walking towards them and they were still asking where is the person. Ppl had to tell them i was the one. They were shocked. They told me they were expecting a dead body nt someone dat is alive. Went to the hospital and i was nt attended to cos i did nt look like someone that was involved in an accident i had to go to another hospital. Thankfully there was no internal injury. Went to the police station and the police man on duty was surprised i was alive. Said when they brought the car To the station, him and his colleagues said the person driving this car will not survive it. Imagine where police man is happy to see you and thanking God on your behalf.
Though I'm still traumatized and always replaying the accident in my head every single day but I'm glad i survived.

June 2017: When travelling from Uyo to Eket, one rear wheel of the tanker in front of our taxi popped out and flew into the bush.
Thank God the taxi driver reacted quickly

Being involved in a car accident with every member of my family. flesh from the scalp torn and dragging down to the bridge of my nose. exposed skull, total loss of the right eye lid, dislocated an arm, sprained neck and didn't make use of both eyes for months cause of the extent of injury. going through the emotional trauma of not knowing if the rest of your family was okay cos we were kept differently. it was one hell of a time. Everyone made it through. 8 years down d line doing better after series of surgeries, improved eye sight, now have a degree and will be serving next month. shout out to my doctors at FMC umuahia who took care of me from 19th Oct 09 till 24th DEC 09, u guys rock. oculoplastic and plastic surgeons at unilorin teaching hospital una try no be small.

One night during my school days, I was going from China to gra around 11pm ,myself and a friend with the cabman started hearing gunshots somewhere BTW ozuoba and Mgbuoba so I shouted and told the cab man to start driving backwards instead of revising and wasting time.

We moved far away from the gunshot area for about 15 minutes then we started going back, I saw 2 police officers dead on the ground and the 3 one was bleeding profusely, calling for help, begging the cab man to stop and help him.

We drove past but my conscience won't let me rest so I told the cab man to revise so we could help the bleeding man, he complained, insulted finally we got to the spot where we saw the police guy, we quickly opened the door and helped him in, he was telling us to take him to one hospital around mile 1 and he was getting weaker .

FORTUNATELY, very close to rumuokwuta junction, we saw 2 very loaded police van heading to the direction we were coming from ,they already got the information ...we flagged them down and they quickly took their colleague into their van and left .

I couldn't go to the hospital to check on him if he survived or not because of fear, I honestly STILL REGRET it and I still remember the look of fear in his eyes, his voice begging me not to let him die still echoes in my head .

I hope he survived!


Later learnt that police killed some robbers so their colleagues came for revenge .

So on that fateful, me and my sister went to visit her bearing food and clothes for her and my dad (he was with her for two months). I was just ten and had just entered JSS 1, she was muttering some words.... calling our names (her children), apparently she thought she was at home.....she held on tightly to my hands. When it was evening.....she refused to let me go, my Dad had to lie that me and sister will just be right out to get food for her. We came back home to Ogbomoso.....I was disturbed all through the night, couldn't sleep....very early in the morning around 5;30am.....We heard the sound of a vehicle, a pickup truck and a knock.....Dad came in with this sober expression.....Mum was dead, her body laid at the back of the truck. I miss you so much Mum..., I so much wish you are still here..... I really can't hold back tears while typing this.

Our scorned driver trying to get even with another driver who rammed into his vehicle and sped off. Dude was in a reckless 'fast and furious' mode with helpless passengers, including me, begging for our lives. It was freaking scary.
