Ah shocked Why evul? Not this kind of worst scenario pls.I am referring to the worst case scenario that is worth it.
unite4real:

You asked for worst case scenario right? OK.

At 0.5% worst case, you will earn N2,500 for 182 days and N1,250 for 91 days.

The very worse case is that your principal is preserved tax free.

I seriously think the rates will go high next year, 2018 is very strategic. Asides the fact that they'll need to raise money for budget, election is around the corner. They'll need momey to finance the 2019 election, they'll start new projects nd run to finish old ones just to gain favor. The government will really need funding next year. What do u think?

You can get the rate from any Stanbic branch. It is just a matter of asking your account officer to contact the main Stanbic office (global market) that is in charge of Treasury bills secondary market, and you will be provided with all the tenors and rates that are available. Of course you need a very proactive account officer. You also need to be quick in accepting the offer, when you get an offer you like. There are other customers all over the country and outside who are similarly interested.

^^^^^ I find It's better asking customer service than your account officer

Tbillz does not do a nyfin for towards their target so they might not be very responsive to your questions

Pls has anyone liquidate a Tb before the maturity date. How is the percentage of the interests that one will forfeit calculated & what is the penalty.

This is because I did a Tb of 2m for 180 days @ 13% rate & which is to mature on 3rd Nov but I liquidated on 24th Oct just 10 days remaining but 61k was deducted from the principal amt . I feel the deduction is too much or is it ok from anyone's experience.

I think most banks takes minimum of 100k for NTB,
30,000 can go for Saving Bond or Mutual Fund.

Aside from that, your request is not very clear, try to be more explicit.

OLOBAM:
kindly help with this calculation. 30000 invested at the beginging of every month for 10years at 10% per annum. 30,000 will be added at beginning of each month.

your response will be highly appreciated. thank you

Secondary Market becoming more profitable nowadays

I think Banks are selling of old subscriptions or more people are coming forward to liquidate. I could be wrong though!
Either way, rates will soon caught up with Primary market realities,

lol

what's your point. secondary has always been better. I just wondered why people always form sharp and informed chasing after primaries. I don't stress myself looking out for dates. I just go, ask for available secondary options and invest.

today I simply got 16% for 100 days

primary probably good for the big multimillion boys/group of boys.

Do you mean 61k was deducted from the 2m that was meant to be returned so instead of recieving 2m; you recieved 1,939,000?

With primary if you tick reinvestment option, you dont get to loose a day... It will be reinvested at the prevailing market rate automatically...

Also if you have up to the CBN minimum amount of 50m you can bid for yourself and probably get a better rate than the banks sometimes.

When the rate was stable at 18% and above for 364days the primary market was always better because even if you go to invest a day after...they'll always give you something a lil lower.

It looks more attractive now because the rate @ the primary is falling..what they are selling at secondary market now is what was bought higher earlier in the primary market. So it just a matter of timing.

Please House chairmen/Chair-ladies and landlords who has an idea of when the NEXT CBN OMO auction would hold, more like a schedule if possible, because most banks seem not to disclose this information except if you have a good insider in the Treasury or Investment banking department.
