Is she working presently and earning something? Has she being in a salaried employment in the last 12 months? If yes, & If you have savings that can that make up the £18,600 or exceed it then you 'll need to add your statement of account to hers.if you have any huge amount that dropped into your account which will reflect in your statement, you 'll need to explain with proof how the money came about e.g. sale of property, rent etc

House... I just booked my life skills A1 test today and it's scheduled to hold Dec 7. My question is this: can I still go ahead and submit my application and then when the result gets out I send to UKBA or I wait for the result first before submitting. Thanks

Thanks for this. The TLS portal for my husband has now been updated to received by ukvi for a decision after I took your advice to complete the complaint form on the site...........53 days post biometrics........ this cold is no joke o.

Lamakinde:

You can actually lay complaints on the site. There's a column for complaints and your e-mail. They actually replied after I have sorted it out. They mentioned that they noticed I have figured it out myself and close the complaint.

There is no need to submit online now, just wait for the result.
Fine you 'll be able to submit online, pay and book an appointment, infact u 'll be able to even attend the interview but the issue is u r expected to send documents to Sheffield max 2 weeks after biometrics, what happens then if d 2 weeks elapse b4 Dec 7-14 ( u 'll get your result a week after)

But u can register on uk gov website and start filling but dont submit. Also download the financial form, go thru and start getting all necessary info. Get ypur paper and pen ready and go thru this thread, ask questions and gather any gatherables, cover all loopholes and be super ready. Remember and plan when to take your TB screening test too.
This is just my opinion ooo. Thanks

Congrats on the baby. However, as much as I don’t know too much about the process, I think the £18,6 is a major rule and it has worsened with the fact that she’s preggy, because now you need £22,4 or so. An alternative would be for her to save up to £16k, in her account (I think).

There’s another way I read about, where she can emigrate to another European country then have you visit her while she’s working there then after 3 months or more, you and your family will emigrate to the UK without wahala. If she doesnt earn up to the £25k due to the baby, and your own savings cant also reach that sum, then the emigration way might be a better option.

Since the wife will be the sponsor and bringing only the husband, then it's £18,600 not £22,400 moreso she's a British citizen which means baby will also come out British and no cost for that.

Hi @Knwuna as @ Lexusgs430 asked earlier, is it the pregnancy that caused the drop in her income? or better still is she on maternity leave hence the drop in income and Is she in a full time employment before the maternity? If your answer to this questions is "YES", then she would be assumed to be earning the amount on her contract and not the amount she is earning now that she is on maternity. But if its the other way round, I would suggest you guys wait till she puts to bed and resume back to work. You could read up the UK website more to know what your chances are though..

Congrats on the baby.... I was in the same shoe, as wife had to stop work while she was pregnant. We had no choice but to wait till she delivered, nursed the baby, get back to work for 6 months and now putting in the application. But if your wife does not earn up to £18,600 annually even before the pregnancy, you guys need to wait until she gets a job that meets that threshold, work for 6 months with the same employer, have a condusive accommodation for you guys and have well over #1m in savings to process your visa and run your application. I'm sorry, that looks harsh but there is no other way around it except she or you has an amount in savings combined with her annual income to meet up the threshold that you guys can defend. Then your application is good to go.

How much does she earn? 'She has rented he apartment' ? Is she now squatting? Does she work full time? Was it the pregnancy that lead to drop in wage and hours? Does she meet up all other application prerequisites?
She earns £17,800 per year..she lives in a rented apartment alone..she works full time..she still works her full shifts.. yes she meets other requirement.

Hello house..please i still need your advice on this matter:

My wife is kind of suggesting that she will acquire a loan from her bank to sponsor my masters program in Uk to enable stay closer to her during this period..Do you think its a good idea to do such please i need your opinion .
Note: She works full time,..she lives in a rented apartment..she is pregnant and she earns £17,800 per year which is less than £18,600 per year that is required. and she meets all other requirement..
We are just looking for a way out because she's alone

The only problem with this plan is the fact that most UK schools don’t take international master’s students till September next year. So if she won’t be able to nurse the child and take more shifts to make her annual salary 18,600, then this might be a good plan.

On the upside, it’s easier and less expensive to apply from the UK. So it might be a good plan.

Does any of you have the required amount in savings, to compliment your application? If not,
Unfortunately, you would have to wait till baby is born, Madam would have to pick up a weekend job or so to make up the difference or she might get promoted at her present job (then part time job, might not be required afterall)....

£18,600 wage strength per annum, forms a key part of the spousal application process......

What's the entry period for the program? Have you factored in loan repayments, into her current wage (considering other expenses)? Have you considered the fact, that the student visa application might be declined?

I hear interest rate has gone up today, so borrowing would now be slightly more expensive........

Interest rate is now 0.5% from 0.25%.

Hi @knwuna the other option i am thinking of is if you both can raise between £18k and £20k to cover for the discrepancy in her income. But bear in mind that this has to be saved in either of you's name for 6 months.
If you are wondering how i arrived at the £18, this is the summary.
18600 - 17800 = 800
(800×2.5) + 16000 = 18000.
Also bear in mind that loan is NOT an acceptable route of acquiring you savings.

In response to your question;
1. You do not need "certain" amount in your account since you wife earns the required amount.
2. You would need to write an English test (A1) BEFORE your application.
3. Try and search using my name for one of the posts i uploaded here about supporting documents OR READ FROM THE BEGINNING as the "Chancellors" and "Vice Chancellors" would advise.
