Jones has been subbed off early in the england vs Germany friendly, I really hope its not serious. He just can't seem to stay fit even to save his life. |

joeace2020: He can play France's domestic league matches but won't participate in UEFA Champions League and the Europa league. Not necessarily for Marseille though, since they've terminated his contract. |

Leyqute: Okay i see.. and he can't move to another European club too right? |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 8:26am On Nov 11, 2017 |
joeace2020: He should be able to move to other clubs in Europe but won't be able to play European football for the length of the ban. |

Yes , but I think that's part of a bigger problem. Slow speed of play and predictable passing. Telegraphed passes done slowly are total poison to a team trying to attack . What happens is that much of our passing is often slow and predictable. This makes it much easier for opposition players to close us down and tackle. Chelsea last sunday were passing and moving at speed using less predictable lines and moves. Yes , Hazard is an awesome player but it's not about him , it's about dynamic , creative football. When teams start playing that kind of football you see one touch moves and quick 1-2s , a third man making a run inside the full back , a quick lay off followed by a sharp turn and run behind the centre back or even a back heel. Then some midfielder turns up in the box when the defenders aren't expecting it and scores. We all know what good football is because we have seen it so many times and it's bloody effective. You don't need a team of Hazards , just players who already instinctively know where the ball is going to go before the opposition can read it. Being on a wavelength with other players. The ball is then gone before the tackler gets close. Defenders don't know who to pick up and get drawn out. It doesn't have to be tippy tappy or Brazil 1970 to be good football , just pacey and dynamic you just have to move the ball around more quickly and let the opposition run after the ball rather than players . If teams do that then space starts to open up. The interesting thing is you can do this as a form of counter attack whilst keeping half an eye on your defending. Infact to defend well away from home in big games United HAVE to offer more attacking threat on the counter. If they don't then then opposition will just come onto us in waves trapping us in our own half (eg anfield , which I thought we were lucky to survive 0-0) Player (a) has to know before the ball gets to him what the next pass will be (player b) , that player who is receiving the ball starts to sense the run of his winger (player c) even before the very first pass is played. Meanwhile , player d has sensed this and has already started to make a dummy run to draw the fullback away. Two seconds later the winger is racing to the by line and whips a cross in for player a (who incidentally hasn't stood still but has made a run into the box ) to head a goal. Something like this cannot happen easily if you pin players down to positions , park the bus and fill players with a fear of losing a goal. They will just slow things down and make predictable passes. Mourinho's style inhibits free expression and encourages anti football. It slows players down and pins them to positions and they take extra touches and take too long to decide on their next pass. And then , when the ball is lost , we are not aggressive enough to win it back , thus forcing us to shuffle back into two lines of 4 hoping to get back possession rather than win it in their half. Its a thing of the past and it bores and frustrates the hell out of me. And it started the moment we went to Anfield and Jose drilled his players to bus park with awful football rather than trusting them that they can actually play a bit. Since then the confidence has gone and fear has set in. The irony is that United played quite well the first 10 minutes v Chelsea. The ball was zipping around a bit and we looked a bit dangerous. But then.......zzzzzz A comment by @desmondisback @redcafe. I think this sums up why we are where we are at the moment. |

patrickmuf:At 28, i think we should cash in on him, and go for a swift dynamic player. Forsberg of Liepzig is my pick, the guy is very good. |
