Stop arguing nonsense. In the U.S. u KNOW a group a group of robbers won't dynamite a bank, or go house to house, or set up a road block to rob and kill people, or kidnap u or snatch your child. As a regular person you FEEL safe. Not so in 9ja. You could be lynched for something u never did.or gratuitously killed by SARS just for being in the wrong place and nothing will happen. No compensation, notjing. Stop arguing nonsense.

First all, you did not address any point that l made. 2nd all, the piece you quoted is a subjective one-sided argument, that did not take into consideration the so many other ill factors affecting the black community as a whole, which in turn affect their wealth. I would not want to go into all that as well.
Lets address the ease at which an average Nigerian fresh graduate can make it in this country and live a comfortable life afterwards as opposed to such graduate in UK/Canada/Germany who immediately becomes a middle-class family after graduation. The OP that posted this said he was able to make $30,000 since graduating less than 10yrs ago. How many of our parents, whom have worked their whole lives, (l am not even talking about people who have just worked for 10 years) , can lay claim to such amount of money as savings?
Lets talk facts. What year did you graduate from school? What have you been able to acheive since graduation? How many of your friends with whom you graduated together are making a comfortable living for themselves? How much are you making/month or per annum? How much have you been able to save? How many family members/friends of yours have successfully done business? How many people have you seen gone into small/medium scale buisness and have made it within a space of 10years. Lets talk these facts and prolly you can convince me.

P.S. Dont take my questions as insults or an act of being rude. I just want us to argue based on relatable facts.

Living under their parents? That's what America is known for. Most graduated between 22yrs-35yrs in America still live with their parents. O boy all these do not help. If we brainstorm and we got d solutions it ends there. The onus is on those who are in corridors of power to do d brainstorming. Many of them were living in d diaspora and see how d system works there but fail to do what needs to be done.
I have even been oppurtuned to write and speak directly with a handful of them but it is obvious they dont want to make d much need ed sacrifice for nation-building.
So i ve no time to waste but to ensure my destiny is not shaped by those bastards in power for myself, family and my geberations after me.

You definitely have time engaging her, ignore her, your response to her is giving her few minutes attention, don't dignify her with another response, I have long ignored her and she has fizzle out because I deliberately don't want to engage her, responding to her is a colossal waste of time, those of us who live in the West know the huge difference between living in a dead rotten jungle called Nigeria and living a a place where your quality of life is guaranteed, ignore her, and see how she melt out like candles under a hot sunsad
Advice taken sis. My response torments her and it gladens me to see her bp rise cos of me.
I recall a particular thread on nairaland where she was disgraced for her comments and the responses she got. My continued response to her exposed her stupidity which gave others on the thread ground to lash her.

What are you doing with the light? Nothing but prowling Nairaland aimlessly talking rubbish about Nigeria. Jobless illegal immigrant. If you've got nothing to do keep talking. All your posts are repetitions of the same statements, my advice; get lost. If you keep shut no one will notice your absence, how boring can your life be?

I live in Nigeria and identity with things here, you live in Norway yet you can't get lost and mind your business, abi dem don reject you for there? Do you even mingle with those Norwegians at all, I doubt because you are a misfit, always alone, talking about Nigeria 24/7.

I moved home this year from the US after a medical degree, a master's degree, a PhD and medical specialisation. That's after 15 years. My objectives were clear: to develop my specialty and to ensure knowledge transfer to Nigeria.

It was rough but I got used to it. The biggest problem of Nigeria is also it's greatest strength; the people. I will advise that you find the right people to help smoothen your transition. Find people who are not interested in grabbing from you but in genuinely helping you resettle.

You must come with a mndset that it won't be easy. You will be your own city council. You will have to generate your own power and water.

They will never pay you enough. At least that's how it will seem at first. It used to take less than a week to use up what the Government was paying but as you settle into the Nigerian system it will get better. Since you're in I.T I expect that you'll have quite a number of opportunities and a different set of challenges.

The difference between you and is that I obtained citizenship and I still go back and forth with all our plans with the knowledge and technology transfer.

I can tell you this. Once you are settle in and you're generating the right kind of income Nigeria is a decent place to live in. It's a fertile ground and someone such as yourself will be amazed as to how much you can accomplish.

So have a clear road map, find the right people, be mentally prepared. If I can do it so can you.

When people of substance talk one can discern it easily, not people like Nigeriandodie an unfortunate illegal immigrant hiding while taking pictures of water melon and bananas, jeez the poor fellow even took pics of a stolen chicken, smh

Thanks for passing knowledge to others, your gesture won't be forgotten. Ironically, I find those with nothing to give back are the ones boasting more on here, people who lack skills and Knowledge are the ones speaking loudest

Nigeria indeed is a cool place to be, unfortunately when one mentions Nigeria people are quick to judge based on Lagos traffic and fast life style, I wonder if Lagos is the only state in Nigeria.

Even in Lagos, if one can work close to where you live, you will cut down on stress by 90%. Nigeria has too much to offer but Igbos are determined to be a nuisance to us.
