The journey of DF from N1.00 to N14 was one BOLD JOURNEY of MANY potholes, several Millitary/SARS check points, VIOs, FRSC...etc etc
Armed robbers were severally spotted, the vehicle grounded until the operations ahead were over.
Tyres got busted, severally dust gathered on the windscreens and visibility severely compromised.
Countless negative factors surfaced, both anticipated and not
Yet the bus is still ADJUDGED safe and the passengers continue to smile ahead to an undisclosed location.... grin
Many dropped on the way and made seats empty which were taken over by other travelers, some to nearby bus stops, some to distant bus stops.
Many times the bus reversed to fix a broken wheel or take some air or even dozing travelers who dozed while the bus sped too fast past them.

Your stock may be on such a ride. Just close ALL the glasses, put your seat belt and you are free from external noise.... grin

My dear, the rate at which you move from stock to stock, you don't appear to be like an FA guy. We wait!!! We analyse!!! We iterate all possibilities and then take a plunge to buy.

We are patient. Not fazed by volatilities because we know what we bought.

I can't see those qualities in you.

The TA guys can assist you. Don't get offended bro.

Brokers be making tonns of cash on many while they take all the risks.
The market is a game of temperaments.
As a pro-fundamentalist, I can reiterate that in my 19 years in the market, nothing beats buying and holding a fundamentally sound stock with an eye on the numbers (just in case of -ve changes). If u only want to trade wit a certain amount for short to medium term, then TA is most ideal.
Imagine those who bought DF for N1.00 and held till now, versus those who hv jumped in and out 5 times!
I pray people dont always have to learn the hard way.

Please do not get carried away by the current bull run, if you are in any stock stay put and take profit when due, if you are yet to get into any stock careful not to catch a stock retracing from yearly high....

NSE-All Share increased 489 points or 1.28% to 38676 on Thursday January 4 from 38187 in the previous trading session. Historically, the Nigeria Stock Market NSE reached an all time high of 43031.83 in July of 2014 and a record low of 19785.03 in December of 2011

From the chart 1 below we are yet to break the NSE all high even with last years bullish run, more so with the current January run the NSE is yet to break Dec 2017 yearly high (Dec the NSE failed to break the 40,000 mark....it tells me if we run out of steam in January a major retrace is coming.

January/ February periods are usually peak periods before a break in momentum for upside continuation in some stocks and vise versa trade carefully. As seen from chart 2

My research if you have good entry price within the last year - Time to exit is almost here January/Febrauary

Come back in April/June and fish for bargains while accessing overall market sentiment. May this year bring us all profits.

If I can perfectly time my entry and exit prices, I'll prefer to buy DF 5 times than wait. Also, I don't care much if brokers make money off me as long as I've made more on my trades.

E.g I have exited my transcorp today at 1.70, it probably has the potential to go higher but I'll prefer to thread on the side caution. Capital preservation means a lot to me. Will wait for pullback some other time and re-enter.

I'm just a rookie by the way(newbie as people call it here grin) , maybe I'll later learn the hard way but for now, these short term trades seem to be my preferred strategy.

You did not do wrong by selling today.
I think today should have been the best day to sell fcmb and diamond. Both has met their new 52wks high and now looking for support.
For Transcorp,I think next week should be ripe for the sales. Its new 52wks high is coming by next week. This is good for us who are looking to buy back at support.
The conclusion of the whole thing is are you making profits?

SELL HALF IF YOU ARE LURED TO AND LEAVE HALF IN CASE THE BULL PERSISTS..........MY OWN GAME.

MY CHOICE AS TO WHETHER TO SELL TRANSCORP AND BUY FIDELITY OR FCMB

Looking at the charts, Transcorp seem just about to start trending. FCMB is currently trading at a supply point (the supply seems not very strong), with another one ahead at about 2.52.

For Fidelity there is a stronger supply point ahead at about NGN3.00.

Therefore, if I am worried about Transcorp, I may sell some transcorp, I will put in a limit order at about 2.10 (then adjust depending on how market plays out) in order to have some cash to play other equities.

As per the closing of today, there is really no need to panic, but Fidelity is likely to pull back soon.

The charts are shown below.

Caution: Investing is a risky venture. This is just my opinion and I cannot be liable for any loss suffered as a result of following this recommendation All data used are assumed to be correct, but you may need to verify some of the figures independently.

NO

January with reading above 0.4 (preferably above a reading of +1) but so far the month of january just started, also look at bearish months for the years with January reading above +1...
Agbalowomeri:

I do not agree with most of your submission

Which part?

EDITED:

I noticed something in your Bull/Bear historical data: Years with Dec readings having highest bullish data, is mostly sustainable going into the next year. We can say this year is most likely bullish with NSE index at a highest level in Dec for year 2017.

Again timing is key....know your exit and entry. Do your own DD, this is me check & balancing my investment rationale.

Two consecutive Gap ups already. I know the guys here have already sharpened their cutlasses to spill blood a little. Today is going to be bullish. but not to worry, its just the start of a very good year. pullbacks are normal in NSE but Trade your Plan and Plan your Trade

Can this be the reason fcmb is fighting to take back her position in the stock market.
If this report reflect on the 2017 audited result of fcmb,I sight a decent result with juicy dividend.
Q1 result of 2018 we may see fcmb overtaking fidelity.KM5 is also sighted in this 2018.I will take back my position in any pullback i see now.
