Hello Fam. Please I need you your help. Can I change my point of entry? I told the VO that I will be giving birth in Texas but I want to use a hospital in Califonia instead. 1. Will I be turned back if I land in Califonia instead of Texas? 2. Will a change in state reduce my chances of visa renewal in future? Thanks

I have many questions please I need and answer.

First they should have passports ...then you fill the form from http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-ds160complete.asp ...and also contact doctor and hospital in the area where your uncle lives....you need to do all this yourself.

Can my mother go with my wife to the US for delivering purpose as she have not traveled out of the country before ? If yes (elucidate more about it). Yes. Search for mother, mummy, interview to see other people's experience. Many people's mothers and mothers in law who have not travelled before have applied and gotten visas.... apply and be prepared.

My wife and I stay in UAE we have 3yrs UAE residents visa which will expire on 2020. You may be asked why you are having baby in US and not UAE...be prepared to answer...only you know the answer.

I have a landed property and a car also, is it required? Depends on you. Take any document that supports what is in your application form and what can prove that your visit is temporary and that you will be back in Nigeria after a few months. Page 105 of thread 1 also has a list....but...everyone's situation is different

What are the expected questions during the interview? As my mum can speak English and my wife also. Check page 105 of thread 1 for list of questions. If they can speak English. Ok. If not they can ask for interpreter.

Is there any age limit for pregnant women ? Bcus my wife is just 20yrs +4months? No age limit ..as far as i know....so long as the married person is an adult...i think that's 18

Showing the bank statement, which person among us will the money be in his or her account.? Whoever earns the money. If you are the sponsor then madam should go with your bank statement.

Maximum of how much do we need to have in our account before starting such movement,? Depends on your budget. You should usually have enough money to cover what you will spend on hospital, ticket and any other expenses. You can search for budget sheet here on NL...even on this thread 6...there are many examples. Don't transfer money from one account to another...just take the account that has the money....hopefully that is yours.

I have an Uncle who is living at N.Y. and is ready to provide accommodation and later of invitation please my brothers and sisters direct me on what to do from the first till the last step. Page 0 already has a step by step guide on each stage on this journey from getting visa for your wife to getting baby's passport after birth in the U.S....you can ask questions if unclear or search using the search button at the top of the page for a specific issue but you will need to do it all yourself...

Thanks as I wait to be notified

Depends on the reason for the change....one mama said she was asked at POE why she changed....it was because the uncle she planned to stay with had travelled.....so if the reason is solid...i don't think it'll be a problem...but you may be asked.

I would say be careful if your reason is for cheaper hospital...in recent visa renewals some mamas who applied through drop box have been called for follow up interviews....and some VOs are frowning at big discounts.....you may also be asked to explain why you changed.

Good Evening my people. My wife will be going on her missionary journey sometimes in may and I want my mum to accompany her. My wife got her visiting visa in march 2017, we both went visiting for 2 weeks in sept 2017 (cos i have visiting visa too). She took in after this trip.

Now we want to go give birth and after alot of reading here, we plan to just send the change of intent mail for her to travel with her current valid visa while we apply for a visa for my mum who wud accompany her.

Pls is this a good plan? Or would it be best for her to apply for a medical visa? she still has a valid visiting visa which she used for that purpose?

Pls which visa should my mum apply for? Medical or visiting or B1/B2 (confused at this point) and what documents is she to go with for her interview? Also she has never travelled out of Nigeria before. will this be an issue?

Trying not to make a mistake, pls help me out my mamas and gurus in the house. Thanks.

Since your wife has used her visa for what it was issued for,I don't think you guys are likely to have any issues.i also don't think it's necessary to apply for a new medical visa.
Your mum should apply for b1/B2 visiting visa and tell them at interview that she's accompanying her daughter in-law to birth. She should go with your wifes Dr's correspondence, her visa page, your bank statement as the sponsor etc.Her nor have traveled out of Nigeria is inconsiqential. Just read up here, you'll find similar scenarios.

Good day wonderful people.

I recently just signed on to this wonderful family although prior to now I usually check out comments of nairalanders via google search and I must say that I am inspired.

I and DH decided in December to take a 3 weeks trip to the USA in 2018 because we never got the chance to have a proper honeymoon when we initially married because I commenced child birth almost immediately (I was heavily pregnant at the time). Fortunately for us we recently discovered that we are pregnant for our 3rd child January 2018 and we have decided to birth in the USA this time since we can afford it. I work with a multinational and husband works with one of the best indigenous IT firms in Nigeria. We also have a registered growing business here in Nigeria and a couple of properties here and there. We have been out of the country severally and I once with our first child to the UK BUT never together.

Now to my questions:
1) Can we apply together as a couple bearing in mind that this will be our first attempt at the USA embassy? If yes what sort of Visa should we be looking at bearing in mind that I am pregnant now and will be due in September hopefully. We intend to have our holiday before I birth and will be using that same trip to birth our child. I do not intend to lie about my pregnancy status if asked. We do not intend to go with our 2 other kids at least for now because school will be in session.
2) What documents should we have handy with us to aid the application process when asked
3) We are looking at birthing in Texas and will be staying with my husbands childhood friend who is a citizen and works in a Oil Rig in the USA, will this be OK?
4) Do we have to make a deposit for delivery to the hospital via to Visa interview date to aid our chances?
4) Will appreciate any relevant info on cost of birthing via CS in a reputable hospital in Texas
5) I will like to know if its BEST I apply alone for now and maybe after birthing and back to Nigeria we can then apply as a family or a couple for holiday later in the future.
6) Will it be OK to apply separately. My husband applies first while I take my time to get all my documents then apply later.
7) If my husband applies first bearing in mind that his major intention is for holiday with me can he clearly state that if asked and hope it will not affect his chances as I currently do not have a USA visa but will apply after him.

I will appreciate if I can get a feedback soon while I continue to check other comments in other post.

Really appreciate.

Answers to 1) 5) 6) 7) applying together or separately.....up to you....people here have done both....most important is that VO believes that you can afford the trip....whether holiday or birth......and that you have enough ties in Nigeria (like work etc) such that you will return.

2) documents - see page 105 of thread 1 or post by zoemummy page 343 of thread 5. It all depends on your own application and what you say in your DS160 application form.

3) doesn't really matter whether you know anyone in the U.S. or not..... you can fill your friend's contact on your form where asked.

4) paying a deposit can show your financial strength although it's not a pre-requisite...showing bank statements is more common. To find hospitals in Texas (the most popular state on this thread) search using the field at the top of the page or google....there is also an advert on NL here for a facility in Texas

Hi everyone. I have been a silent reader of this thread since part 4 and I have gathered enough information to proceed with the birthing process.
My DW is 3 months gone and we want to start the process early.

I'm a car importer and a car dealer, I have been into automobile business for the past 5 years but i register my company over 2 years ago. I import my cars from USA as I have all the required license to buy from the auction.

I got married august 2017 and me and DW traveled to Kenya, Tanzania and Dubai for our honeymoon. Also, I have also been to South Africa once before getting married.

DW is not working yet, infact she just got her appointment letter yesterday from civil service commission in Lagos and she has upto 6 weeks before she can submit acceptance letter and start working. I want DW to give birth to our baby in Houston, Texas and we have prepared the budget sheet, about $15,000 and I will be sponsoring the trip.

I have my company bank statement and also my person account statement with enough funds to cover the trip.

Now, I do receive car payment to my personal account sometimes, and I'm wondering if this won't affect us?
Also, I don't have a fixed salary but I make between 600K to 1M monthly, I don't pay salary into my savings account from my business account, I hope that won't pose any problem?
Should we apply together based or she should apply alone?

pls, any advice will be appreciated. , I really don't have to visit US but my wife is my priority so we can give our baby that dual citizenship.

thanks

Thanks mamaron.
I have completed the application. My confirmation page sent to my email. I have been looking for the link for paying visa fees and nothing heĺps. My last application, i was shown a link to print out and take to bank. Or should i just go to Gtbank and pay visa fees? After that, what next? How do i proceed with submitting receipts and
booking appointment. Am sorry but i have really tried and cant figure it out. Thanks

mamaron:

Are you sure you have the right web page for Nigeria? I don't think you should be able to use an old confirmation number especially a Tanzanian one. Once you start a new application it should give you a fresh number that you will note down with your surname and date of birth and a security question....in case you don't finish in one sitting and have to go back to your application.

The Nigeria link is http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-ds160complete.asp

Once you have completed the form and paid the fee to GTB you can then book an appointment. After this is done you should see an option for expedite appointment.

Their requirements for medical reason for an expedited appointment are very clear:

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-expeditedappointment.asp

Requirements are Nigerian doctor's letter, U.S. doctor's letter and proof of funding or payment for all medical services (doctor, hospital etc) ....this can be your receipt or bank statement.

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by freshdad: 11:24am On Feb 06, 2018
Not necessarily. its not like the UK who see it like desperation. The refusal letter always says if status has changed. you can explain the change in status properly and carefully at the next interview. Myself and wife we denied at the first interview and I went straight to the bank to pay for another application for her and got a 2weeks date. the rest is history

Sorry I'm asking this question late in plain terms from the DS160 questionnaire, an abridged version though, but just to help us all:

"Have you ever sought to obtain entry into the United States by willful misrepresentation?"

I ask because I'm wondering if the above isn't assumable as what transpired between you and the CBP. I don't feel you have anything to lose by agreeing to this yet again compared to not agreeing this time around. Just my thought sha! Regards....

I don’t think God took control of anything. You just got awfully lucky that he did not ask you to login to your bank account and prove that you indeed had $12000 on your card. This was a tiny issue so I’m not sure why you felt the need to lie so effortlessly.

very correct, during my last trip i had money all in the acct and a few dollars with me,i was asked to login to my acct to prove i had enough funds,i told them no internet connection on the phone, the took my phone and signed to their network and was able to login and show them that i had enough funds,i wonder what would have been my fate if there was no money in it

Wow, this is my first time posting and you post got my attention. Also in this sort of dilema, had my baby in Texas and I didn't know i had to get all these zero balance letter I'm reading. About to renew my visa and have been calling the laboratory and paediatrician no luck o. Will be waiting to read how yours goes.
chibertha:
Good day house @Omodadi2 sorry.

In 2015 Feb I put to birth in Houston at WHMC paid all my bills as per self pay $4000 for me and $362 for baby both well baby well mama 3 days stay.
I paid everything as per the offer before leaving the hospital.
Got my Zero balance letter and receipts for both accounts.
Then my visa expired in May 2015 and I renewed it in October 2015 via drop box.
Now went to renew Jan 2018 via drop box but passport returned and I am advised to schedule an interview ( yet to do that)
So I started arranging all necessary document's "every every " thinking i am good to go, untill a member of the house posted her transcript on how she was denied visa at her follow up interview because of itemized bill.
She came to see what it looked like and I put up what I thought it was only for me to see the real thing. Obviously I knew I didn't have it. So I called the hospital to send mine the reception referred me to hospital patients account services (which is in Georgia) trust me I called sharp sharp , only to be told that my sons account has $4230 debt on it.
Wow I screamed no way and asked why and how but the guy just said it's been there since 3 years.
I went gagas and called the main hospital line again requesting to speak to a financial counsellor (as I could not get hold of the person that signed and issued my initial letter)
I was again given a number for the person. I called and it went into voice mail and was given her email. I sent her a mail stating my findings and my need also attaching a copy of my Zero balance.
However I kept calling till she picked. My God she was so apologetic saying the person whose job it was to strick it off did no do so.
That she would send me updated receipts and zero balance letter and follow up till the $4230 on my sons account is struck off.
She has sent the above but no itemized bill that I would have to wait for a week before it comes.
As for the follow up interview I will not schedule until I get an all clear from the said account.

I believe a lot of us can learn from this
I will also keep you posted to the end.
Sorry for the very long post.
Love you all.
