It qualifies as two certificates since you already have a 4-year degree in addition to the diploma.

dedalove:
Thank u @tbaby2015. The postgraduate is a one year certificate program not a degree. WES report says it's equivalent to a Canadian postgraduate diploma (one semester). The one semester in bracket is my worry. The 5 years bachelor degree program was made equivalent to a Canadian 4 yrs bachelor degree program. I intend to claim two or more certificates. Citing that one semester in brackets is just my concern. Pls help.

I had to dig into my computer to get the log-in details when I was curious to know if I need it or not.

For the PR, I don't know cos I think I made a new profile and application for EE and that's where my PR application is. Anyway, I have supplied the UCI in the PR application now.

bbaby84:

My bad. I did a paper application for my tourist visa.
I'm curious as to why you asked if you already had the information? Shouldn't you be applying through that account for your PR?

@Tollu congrats on your PPR. I wanna ask a brief question. My Wife EDD is in April. However I am expecting my ECA result in 2 weeks time. Do you advice I enter the pool before our child is born? Or we could wait until we complete the child’s documentation and then enter the pool afterwards . My estimated CRS result is 458.
Congrats once again

Thanks anaxagoras and safe delivery to you and wifey! I'd say dive in. It isn't hard adding a baby at any point before landing (I'm not sure how it'll work between ITA and AOR but you guys certainly can be the first).
And who knows, you just might get PPR before baby arrives. Who knows what can happen with CRS scores tomorrow? Your tentative score is cool though.

If you don't like unnecessary back and forth, it also doesn't hurt to wait till after the baby is born. This might mean applying in May. Depending on when exactly baby arrives and gets passport.

Is like you didn't get my question. I once applied for Canada visit visa and I was refused. So, am assuming I will have a UCI which I can't even find now.

Yes, you already have a UCI number. If you can't find it, don't stress. The officer will either use your initials or passport number to sort your previous history with IRCC. That UCI you forgot/can't find will then be quoted and entered into your new application or any further correspondence from IRCC as it is your unique client identifier on the database for as long as you have an immigration history.( both approved or refused applications). It won't change. So if you can't remember, fill other details but ensure you declare previous refusal(s).

Thank you guys for your input. My wife and I are already adjusting to the realities of a possible denial. we are trusting in GOD and just wanted to give it our best shot. She started Speech therapy and Behavioural Therapy and She has improved a lot. As for trying other Countries, we are weighing all our options too

The Lord is your strength.......i was told once abt a philipinno family who got refused because their child was special needs. But they got a lawyer in canada and somehow contested the result and they won. The only diff is that they were already present in canada.

bbaby84:

Your assumption is invalid as you cannot have a UCI when your visa was refused. However for those that were issued a visa, it's the 8- 10 digits at the bottom of the visa.
Actually, all applicants who once applied for a Canadian visa have a UCI. All information concerning reasons for a refusal or an approval as inferred by an officer are stored in the GCMS using the client identifier of the applicant for future reference. So yes, there is a UCI for any applicant who had applied for any type of Canadian visa.

which one is better? the pr route or the student visa route?
Ethelia:

yes. you risk having your student visa refused. applying for pr shows the officer you intend to remain in Canada. they might feel that if your pr application is refused and you are granted a student visa you might be willing to remain illegally. #my2cents

The PR is better if you ask me. Get a good score in your english test and do you ECA, thats it. Dive into the pool and await your ITA.

Hello good people. Please I'm a silent reader and I appreciate all the input. I have written IELTS LRWS 887.57.5 ECA will be out this week.
I have some clarifications to make as regards my CRS scores and POF

I'm currently on 412 but was told I may have calculated wrongly. I'm married, 29years, BSc, 5years experience (in 3 different jobs; Public Relations, Administrative Officer & Customer Service). No family or ties with Canada

Seniors please kindly help with calculation and what NOC can I claim seeing that my PR and admin jobs are from 8years ago

For POF, I want to use my spouse's account. He has some funds in it but got a loan to the tune of our needed POF for just a month and we intend to plunge it into Treasury Bills for 180days, get the certificate, particulate the funds and return loan.

Please, is this advisable, has anyone done TB without the money being there for the entire number of days?

Kindly help a sister. Many thanks

Yeah..thanks
Sugaro:
I think you should do things properly, so you don't complicate things for yourself. If you want to change your name do so by newspaper and affidavit, the acceptable means and not one and the same affidavit. If you are not ready then pls renew with your maiden name
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Newbeecey: 12:32am On Feb 12, 2018
Thanks....I was actually more worried because like I mentioned, if I do the name change now, things like my PoF which is in Tbills and my maiden name would require some form of further identification or no?

Kontagious:
If you want to do a name change on your passport (at least for married women), you'd need your marriage certificate, news paper publication of name change and maybe declaration of marriage. With this three documents, you won't need a one and same person affidavit.

However, you may choose to renew your passport in your maiden name, it's absolutely fine. If you do this, it simply means your PCC, Medicals, IELTS TRF (if you'd be taking the test), Name on EE Profile (be you PA or dependant), ultimately your CoPR and even PR Card - save to say other documents and processes to do upon landing - will all be in your maiden name.

I don't know process of name change in Canada but I do know to get those three documents earlier mentioned in Nigeria wouldn't cost you much time or energy, so why not change it now. If you do have the documents though, then effect the name change but you wouldn't need one and same person affidavit. My opinion.

hello everyone, please I need clarification from you guys on this issue. Am currently a PhD student in Cyprus, my wife and a baby are in Nigeria, please for medicals; do we have to do medicals in same place considering the location difference? or I have to travel down to Nigeria to get it done? thanks in anticipation for your responses.

You can get your medicals done in any Country. I confirmed this from CIC.

Again i appreciate all your prayers and advice.. Thank you delta 007, we will wait for the Procedural Fairness Letter and will respond accordingly. Someone on the thread also recommended taking out insurance to cover the Costs as part of mitigation. i think we can afford it. If anyone can recommend a lawyer who can help with our case as soon as we get the PFL. we dont mind too.

Cheers

Delta007:

Canadian PR Applicants may be denied entry to Canada if their health or any of their dependents' health (whether accompanying or not) is a danger to public health or safety; or will cause excessive demand on the Canadian health care system or on social services in Canada.

School aged children diagnosed with Autism, legal blindness, deafness, etc are flagged because these conditions require special care. If the applicant's family is admitted to Canada, the system is such that the child will get the best care and social support and he (the applicant) will not pay a cent other than his taxes. The healthcare system does not have a cost recovery component where an applicant can choose to reimburse the government, however there have been cases where applicants have put forward a mitigation plan, with success.

@hifyty, I will not resign yet. It may be a longer journey but it is not insurmountable. There is a spectrum of autism, the higher end being extreme and requiring all hands on deck. You will likely not get an outright rejection, unless you choose not to respond. You may be required to go for additional tests and depending on the results, you may want to start thinking of some mitigation measures you can put forward. Again, the context is to minimize the burden on the Canadian healthcare system. Please spend some time reading through this, if you have not already done so: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/standard-requirements/medical-requirements/refusals-inadmissibility/excessive-demand-on-health-social-services.html

All the best!

but how does that now affect the choice between PR and Student visa? both still land one in Canada where you need to work your way back up to the top. The only difference is that with one you have permanent status and with the other student status with its various limitations. I really haven't heard of anyone getting depressed in Canada o

Hi dear,

Please how long did it take to receive the new passport and do you have contact of anyone there that could be of help.

I have been putting off changing my name due to perceived stress involved.

OYASALOF:

That's what I did even though my passport is not ready, it saves time of supporting your application with other documents along with your passport that has your maiden name. Just try and renew your passport with your new name and you'll be needing : marriage certificate, newspaper publication, affidavit of change of name, husbands passport data page and your old passport. Did my own in alausa ikeja @ 45k. God bless

Too bad for the guy, but I refuse to let that discourage me or others. Just as there are sad stories, there are also a lot of successful ones. I know many Nigerian trained doctors and lawyers practicing in Canada. So why should I choose to believe the negative experiences of others?

I can see that you yourself created that thread, so if you believe that what are you looking for here again? encouragement or someone to convince you otherwise? Anyway, this thread is not to convince people to go to Canada (it really is a personal choice) but to assist those who have already made up our minds that we want to go there.

Hi Cannygirl,nice Monika.

I got the same CRS putting in your details. I'll advise you have your spouse take the IELTS as well, this could add up to 20 points to your CRS and you could also get his ECA to boost your score. You can't use customer service as it is NOC C unless you were a manager. Check the other 2 under NOC A B or O

Now, as regards borrowing money. Please don't. IRCC advises against this.

First of all. Your current score is 412 so it's not like you are guaranteed to get ITA sooooooo quickly (not impossible though) .

Secondly, VOs are notorious for requesting for updated POFs months after you submit your application.

Therefore if you borrow, buy tbillz and then refund the money, what happens when they tell you to send an updated POF. My honest advise would be to look for the money elsewhere please. Don't embark on a lost battle from start. My opinion though

I have been having issues login in into the Express profile for over one week. it keeps bringing the following error:

Error 1: Your Username may be missing, invalid or incomplete.
Error 2: Your Password may be missing, invalid or incomplete.

is this a general problem? i would really appreciate your response. Thanks
