they re heroes coz at dat moment dey gat to do wah dey have to do..... its call self defense for those dey killed nd dey successfully held onto d money wch automatically makes dem heroes.

They are both heroes they dont deserve to be arrested cos they are minors. If not because of of corruption these guys should have been taken trained to use their instincts with skills and given a chance to serve their fatherland. #My opinion though is based on my teenage fantasy days[i still imagine though] where i imagined being a trained special agent and took out [through assasination, and or exposing their wrong doing] all these corrupt old men holding the nation to ransom not excluding our present baba bubu.

A teenager pulling the trigger in a life and death situation can never be implicated.

It is a case of kill or get killed.
The kids couldn't have been capable enough to render the army of robbers incapacitated when dangerous weapon Is on display.

But, being able to handle firearm effortless as a teenager is questionable. They will be grilled on that.

A hero or killers??
They are both!

But for a good reason.

Their handling of firearms and guns are based on instincts..... Survival instincts. If you noticed most of those they shot were caught unawares. They were not really involved in a one on one gun battle involving guns and wits whereby the opponent is ready.

Have you ever handle a pistol before? or a load gun?? forget what you see in TV it is not about point ,take aim AND shoot unless the guns have be set ready.

These boys change bullet magazine, how is that even possible instincts?? No no... White movies doesn't always tell the whole story. Anyway, I won't drag this point until you can get a grip of a gun put at safety mode.

As for the police, to aid their investigation, arrest must be made, statement must be taken. And these boys are the key players. So, yes the police were right to arrest them.

The flash back at the beginning of the story is spot on. Almost everyone, I included thought that they were special force commandos on a rescue mission.

I would have twisted the story of I were the writer. But being unpredictable with the keyboard or bic in your hand is one of the major hallmark of a talented upcoming writer.

"You are under arrest''
"You are UNDER ARREST''
"YOU ARE UNDER ARREST''
Those were the words that kept ringing in my heads every blessed seconds of every blessed day. It's been two days now that we have been arrested. We were arrested on Monday afternoon or is it morning and this is Thursday.
Our families have done everything humanly possible to get us released, all to no avail. I hear the voice of my dad and mum everytime as they tried to negotiate our release. For my dad to be in the station pleading means he left his work just for me. It really hurts me as I also hear my mum's voice almost crying. They don't even allow them to see us.

I am really mad with anger at this idiots on uniform.
One, they locked us up for no reason whatsoever. Perhaps they thought we were members of the gang. It's really crazy. We should have escaped with the money rather than risk our lives to save the school. Am sure the robbers would do more than just take the money. Even the director, whose as we saved did not do anything to help us. Such an ingrate. He just took his money and disappeared.

I stared Emmanuel sitting at ine corner of the cell and I felt pity for him. He jumped off a two story building and he hasn't received any medical attention since. He is lucky not to have suffered any bodily injuries like sprained only few pains in the muscle and general weakness.
To worsen the case, neither of us has eaten anything for the past two days.
Not that those nincompoops didn't serve us anything, they did but am sure my goal would not even eat such food, iced beans without water to drink. Not only that, we actually fear they may poison us, from the way they stare at us like expecting us to be dead. So we threw it out through the small window.
We were actually kept in some cells in the police station, the criminals in the other cells were not much as we were kept in a little cell with poor ventilation.
Thankfully, we were not tortured.... Too much. At least not too much beating, no hot iron, no shooting on our legs, just some interrogations. That's fair enough.

I was hearing the distant chatter of the officers. Why can't they focus on their work. I don't think they have any work though. Then, their voices went higher a pitch. I tried to make out what they are saying and it looks like they were insulting someone. I shocked my head. This has been their regular pattern. They insult anybody that comes to make a complaint. Then suddenly, everywhere became quiet. No one said anything. I strained my ears to try and hear the tiniest of sounds but nothing. I was scared and worried. Has some robbers attacked and come for us? That is very unlikely as I heard no gunshots.
I listened harder trying to focus on the littlest of sounds but I heard nothing. I stared at Emmanuel but he looks too weak to notice anything.
Then I heard salutes. "Shun sir'' no Oo sir, sir. Goodness who were they saluting. The governor?
Then everything became silent again for about 15 minutes, nothing not even a whimper. Now that is very unlikely. Then I heard footsteps approaching us. Immediately I ran to a corner and sat down feigning sleep.

The footsteps came closer and stopped at our cell. I heard the dangling of keys and opening of padlock. I opened my eyes and saw an officer, the inspector standing, standing at the entrance of our cell.
"You two stand up and follow me'' He said pointing to the two of us. Wow that was nice. Most of the time they came here, they keep shouting and barking at us like rottweilers. I look at the inspector's face and what I saw surprised me. I saw fear on his face. He was scared but of who/what. I tapped Emmanuel and I helped him up. We came out of the cell and the man locked it. Then together, we went through the small passage with cells lined up on each side. We then turned left at the end of the small passage and climbed a couple of stairs which leads to the police counter. We we got to the counter, we were met with a peculiar sight. All the officers were there and on their kneels.
WHAT THE HECK? I glanced at Emmanuel and saw the surprised look on his face which was soon replaced by an amused look then we started laughing. We both laughed so had that tears started forming at our eyes, soon enough we began coughing cause our throat was kinda sore. But surprisingly, non of the uttered a word, they only stared at us with venom and anger, but Who Cares, not us anyways.
We managed to compose ourselves and the man leading us went left and we followed him. I then noticed that we were heading towards the D.P.O's office. We got to the door of the office and the inspector knocked twice before entering and we followed suite.

The D.P.O's office is a medium type office. The walls were a combination of blue and black and there was a fridge at the left corner of the office. It has a large table on which different papers are arranged on it and three swivel chairs, one large one(obviously meant for the DPO by one side of the table and two small ones opposite it. But surprisingly the DPO was seating on a small one while a strange man is sitting on the much larger one and has his back to us.
I was not really surprised with the figure I saw standing at the left side of the office. Looking surprisingly great without the normal tattered look prisoners is the one and only Dan. He doesn't have the hungry nor the tattered look of normal prisoners but looks kinda well fed. My eyes travelled to his laps where I shot him and I saw that it is bandaged and he is still leaning on the other leg. The only look that is on his face is the look of anger, suprise and fear.

My attention was drawn back to the man backing us as he turned slowly on the chair to face us. He stared at Emmanuel and I. Then he made his focused on Emmanuel for a while examining him before bringing the focus to him. The stared at me and I stared back then a staring contest ensued.
I broke the eye contact an examined him. He was clad in a white designer top over a pair of black shinos and a cool white and black trainers. He looked simple yet classy. I get this feeling that he is someone important as my eyes went to his gold wristwatch and then back to his face. I arched my brows up and gave him the "Who are you'' look

Heroes if I may say, given the life and death situation they found them self in.
There's a lot a burst of adrenaline could do when it comes to situation such as this.

Heroes in the sense that they had enough courage to do what they needed to be done and they weren't tempted by the money

BUT

The law is the law, you can't twist it just because of age and emotions na, they killed people, no matter how criminal those people are, it is not in the job description of a secondary school student to be a vigilante.

My advice is they should get a good lawyer, the judge should be lenient enough considering the good deeds they have done

Self-defense, they are not guilty. "A person may use such force as is reasonable in the circumstances in the prevention of crime, or in effecting or assisting in the lawful arrest of offenders or suspected offenders or of persons unlawfully at large.

Dude what the boys did is "very" legal under the law, it is called SELF DEFENSE and if it involves killing the opponent to defend your self do it

Emmanuel and Bolu are heroes and killers at the same tym coz although they somehow saved the school,they killed recklessly and they seem to be experts in the art.!
