PRESS RELEASE:

MALICIOUS, UNSCRUPULOUS & UNVERIFIED ALLEGATION MADE BY SEGUN ARINZE AGAINST DOREN SPECIALIST HOSPITAL AJAH

The attention of our organisation, Doren Specialist Hospital Ajah, has been drawn to the malicious, unscrupulous, and unverified statements and images made by Mr Segun Arinze and shared by him on his social media handle in respect of a man whom he falsely alleged was refused medical attention by our hospital.  The facts of the matter are:

1. The said man was rushed to the hospital on 21st February 2018, at about 11 am by a group of people who gave a history that he was electrocuted.

2. A doctor from DOREN Specialist Hospital promptly assess the man and certified him DEAD AT PRESENTATION.

3. The people who brought him were informed that the man was dead and were advised to take the man to a morgue since the hospital does not run mortuary services.

4. The people who brought the dead man rather than take the corpse to the morgue, resorted to create a scene and disrupt the operation of the hospital
Please note that We at DOREN Specialist Hospital as a point of duty, attend to all emergencies as they present and do not put cost as a prerequisite for first aid treatment to be administered.

Having said this, our media team and some concerned (unbiased and truth loving) Nigerians swung into action to address Segun Arinze’s post on his page and he took it down.  We even engaged him privately to address his post but he turned to say that he is a public figure, we should talk to him on the public post.

Now that he has taken the post down, we are still battling with the ripple effect created by this unverified fake news.
To this effect, we demand that:

1. Segun Arinze should return to the same channel used to spread this fake news and tender an unreserved apology to the management and staff of the DOREN Specialist Hospital.
2. That at the same time he should publish his apology in the online media platform and at least two National newspapers.
3. That he reaches out to all the social platforms who are within his reach, who had re-posted and re-tweeted his fake news to withdraw their posts and tell the true side of the story.

One thing about some patients is the wahala they like creating.... Just like baba morufu that started shouting after his daughter was certified dead (DOA) after doing self medication for days at home... Blaming the hospital for been lacklustre bla bla bla ..

I slapped him like 6times to bring him back to factory mode. Then I bounced into my office just like how the doctor in the CCTV walked into the building. BADASS#

Yes. All I need to certify a patient dead are my stethoscope and my pen torch. You don't have to bring the patient into the hospital before I can check the patient with those. And I can quickly check for all signs of death within 30 seconds.

Nobody likes bad press. If I allow you to bring an already dead body into my hospital, what will start flying around is that he/she died right in my hospital or due to negligence on my part. Again, nobody wants to make the news for the wrong reasons, especially here in Nigeria where people "dive" into conclusion without verifying information.

Interesting to see the defense Doreen hospital could come up with after two weeks or so.

What's more interesting is that the doctor attended to and certified a MAN dead outside the hospital, right on the streets like a dog, even a Fooolani cow deserve better.

Looking at the timer from the video they uploaded, it took this doctor mere 28 seconds to decide this man was doa without as much as a stethoscope (none on the doctors hand or neck). Very sad, indeed.

If you no get money for this country, forget it. Would they have treated the man or corpse same way if he was brought in an Suv?

It's safer to confirm outside, because if the person is certified dead inside the hospital, you may not be able to contain the problems relatives will cause. Besides, they will spread the news that the person died in the said hospital which is bad PR for any private hospital.
