2. Can i apply with my family or i should apply first, then file for family wen i get there?

In your best interest, I would suggest that you apply as a family. You may choose to land first, while they join you at a later date (not exceeding one year after medicals is passed). Legend has it that it is easier for "Lie Mohammed" to speak the truth than for one to sponsor a spouse to Canada

I don't think this legendary story is still so. There is now a fast track process to bring spouse over and takes maximum of a year for the process to be completed. Your spouse should however undergo the medical test with you.

People that adding spouse as accompanying is severely affecting their points can actually consider going alone and sponsoring their spouse subsequently. They would then have the following options

OPTION A
1. PA lands in Canada
2. Files for spouse sponsorship (no specified time restrictions)
3. Application is granted within 1yr.

OPTION B
1. PA lands in Canada
2. Files for spouse sponsorship
3. Spouse goes over to Canada on a visit visa
4. Spouse applies for extension of visit visa and open work permit pending when sponsor application is granted.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1163&top=17

The above is sweetened by the fact that for sponsoring spouse, it is not required for the sponsor to show that he is earning a robust income in Canada.

Contributions and critique of the above options required please.

Anyone?? Please??

Hi keep hope alive,

*Striking varsity non-teaching staff may call off strike Wednesday*

The Federal Government has agreed to source for about N8 billion to settle the Earned Allowance of striking non teaching staff of Nigerian Universities within the next five weeks.

The workers have therefore been asked to suspend their ongoing industrial action by Wednesday, March 14 to allow full activities to return to the campuses.

This decision formed part of the agreement reached between the striking workers under the Joint Action Committee and the federal government after two days of conciliatory meeting which also agreed that no worker will be victimized on account of taking part in the strike action.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, Minister of State for Education, Prof. Anthony Anwukah, President of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), Comrade Samson Ugokwe, President of the National Association Academic Technologists (NAAT), Com. Sani Suleiman and General Secretary of Non Academic Staff Union (NASU), Com. Peters Adeyemi.

The workers had gone on a total and indefinite strike action on December 4, 2017 as a result of failure of the Federal Government (FG) to implement some of the contents of the Agreement of 20th September, 2017 between the Federal Government and JAC.

The agreement, copy of which was made available to The Nation indicate that the government and the unions agreed that: “Government is to source for eight (cool billion naira within five (5) weeks to pay JAC of SSANU, NAAT and NASU members and members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), who did not get paid in the last disbursement exercise.

“The Federal Ministry of Education  reported that the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has started payment of Salary Short falls and the process is still ongoing. The FME is to synergize with the concerned institutions to ensure compliance with Presidential Initiative on Continuous Audit (PICA) requirements to facilitate payments of JAC members in the Universities that are yet to comply.

“The National Salaries Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) is to rework the 15th December 2017 Call Circular taking into consideration the observations of JAC of NAAT, NASU and SSANU with a view to ensuring that it complies with the National Industrial Court (NIC) judgment.

“The Federal Ministry of Education has made submissions to the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) for onward transmission to the National Council on Establishment (NCE) meeting, slated for 18th March, 2018, in Owerri and is expected to report the outcome in 5 weeks.

“The Federal Ministry of Education had put forward an application for the visitation panel to the Presidency and is to follow-up and report outcome in 5 weeks. The main thrust of visitation is to re-energize the Institution, unearth corruption and maladministration in these Institutions.

“It was also agreed that the Federal Ministry of Education would set in motion appropriate machinery for the release of White Paper in respect of previous visitation panel reports already with Government.

“The Honourable Minister of Labour and JAC leadership agreed that the ongoing strike would be suspended by Wednesday 14th March 2018, after due consultation with their National Executive Councils (NECs). No Worker would be victimized on account of this industrial action.”

Hello Mzstephh and other pharmacists in the house,
I am the primary applicant but would like to evaluate my wife's BPharm certificate. We are not sure which NAPRA to select while paying on the pharmacy gateway portal as we are yet to decide which province to settle in.
Can we just choose any?
Mzstephh:
Hello Sir, I did go through the whole process. I evaluated my pharmacy degree (certificate and transcript) using PEBC the pharmacy governing body in Canada.
First step is registering on the Pharmacy gateway for canada portal : https://ipgportal.pharmacistsgatewaycanada.ca/home.aspx
Second stage: getting your transcripts and certificate sent directly from her university to PEBC straight, notarising the copies of her certificate.transcript, international passport etc. You also pay a fee. please see this link : http://www.pebc.ca/index.php/ci_id/3114/la_id/1.htm
Let me know if you need further help.

Option A is the best. Option B might not work why?

The spouse would most likely be denied a Visit visa to Canada because of the sponsorship application in progress (True story).

What if the visit visa is obtained, spouse comes over, then sponsorship application is made? Visit visa can then be extended.

I wish I hadn't waited but found a way to send it early. Cos that's what I eventually ended up doing.

Well this is good news for those still waiting.

The approach makes a lot of sense where there is trust between the couple, particularly as many couples do not actually intend to land together. In many instances where the husband is the PA, the strategy is for him to land first, settle accommodation and job, before madam and kids come over. Moving everyone from the get go is not always advisable, particularly for those that have a limited supply of dollars.

That POF that is estimated for family of three or more may actually not be enough.

Why didn't you state it ? There are atleast 2 questions specifically asking you to declare if there has been any visa refusal to any country. Also, 2017 is not that long ago that they wont find out the truth if they decide to check with their US Contacts...
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Newmum0615: 8:32am On Mar 12, 2018
My dear, I assume you already know the answer to this question.
You were specifically asked if you or your spouse have ever been refused a visa; if you answered 'No', then you have misrepresented facts. There may be consequences. Better to raise a CSE and notify them. I hope that they accept your reasons for not declaring it in the first instance. Good luck.

Raising CSE on this issue is one kind sef.

@Onyi888; I suggest you spend time on Canadavisa forum, check for people who have had similar issues and how they rectified it before taking action. Seriously for the CSE, I cannot think of what reason you will tender that will not look somehow, that is why I think you should research for precedents. Maybe you will just say you forgot and apologise profusely .....let other people weigh in, someone might just have a good idea.

Why I am being cautious is I have seen people declare other pertinent facts after being issued visa (not Canada) and the visas were revoked.
