Your description of "feminism" in the novel seems like a stack contrast to the way it was was described in the novel.

How can you say that even now a girl child training is seen as a waste of resources on some places when I have seen countless times when fathers train their daughters in school and send their sons to learn a trade or craft, even while in school, parents send more money to their female child when compared to the male child.

How is a world without men not violent when we women are our own worst enemy, men can live together in a room without back stabbing, fighting and snatching girlfriends but its opposite for women. lost of gossiping, fighting, quarrelling, etc which is why many girls prefer men as friends.

Did men also invent lesbianism? Also have you not heard of boys being sexually harassed and raped by girls?

Seriously stop being biased.

You feminists really amaze me, I listened to Beyonce flawless song where she was calling her fellow women "bitch", that's degrading, for someone that is fighting for her own gender.

lol so there was no woman maltreatment in that book??, chiamanda brought two families, that of Mr Eugene n anuty ufeoma!! To depict a home operated by a man n a woman, how Kimbili and jaja changed after going to anuty ifeomas house!! Kimbili is the main character, so making a lady the protagonist already makes its feminist book!!!! Most feminist writers reacted to the fact women are hardly made the protagonist in africian books!!! Eugene was made the antagonist!! Just Google feminism in purple hibiscus!
I really don't understand where you get your ideologies from. I'm writing a book and the protagonist is a woman but it's not a feminist book. Have you read half of a yellow sun? The protagonist is a woman too and is it a feminist book? So any book where a woman is the protagonist is a feminist book? You're drunk in the redefinition on feminism.

And no, women were maltreated in the book, men were too. Jaja and papa nnukwu were maltreated by Mr Eugene. Mr Ade Coker was maltreated too or are you going to ignore it?

You're so into feminism that you think Chimamanda brought the two families to prove how a man and a woman operate homes. Mr Eugene was a good man, the only snag there was his religious fanatism. Chimamanda wanted us to know how the children would've been if he wasn't that way. She wanted us to understand that a different environment would totally change the children and their beliefs.
Please I want you to note that, it wasn't because of a woman operated aunty Ifeoma's house that changed Kambili and Jaja, it was all about the religion bigotry. It was the new environment and meeting people with different mentalities like the priest, Amaka, Obiora and Chima. A different environment free from religious fanatics changed them.

What is her concept? and why is it different from our understanding of feminism? and more importantly, how does it support yours?
Good let me answer you.
If a teacher ask a class to define happiness,
Many students will have a different definitions of it but despite their different understanding, they should arrive at a conclusion that happiness is different from sadness.
So is feminism.

Chimamanda adichie understands feminism as a movement to correct anti women prejudices in the society,
Someone like Nkechi bianze understand feminism as a movement to make women equal to men in all ramification.

Me Oriaku Amara understand feminism as a movement to create a world where gender should never be a barrier for anyone whether man or woman to achieve anything.

Simple.
People must have different views about a concept

You shouldn't have added 'Feminism' while searching.

In those days and even now, girl child education is still an agenda embarked upon by many NGOs,
Yes, many see training a girl in university instead of a boy as a waste of resources ,
It do happen in some low income class families,

You can't compare men and women when it comes to corrupting the world, let's not go there.

I don't see Beyonce as a serious feminist,
She has never been, everything is for the camera.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other. it is still the same thing.

There is no major difference in any of the definitions.

Feminism was born out of an idea of a male dominated world. So equality between the sexes and correcting anti women prejudice is the same thing.

Nonetheless, how does gender wars and gender bashing translate into your definition of feminism which is "feminism as a movement to create a world where gender should never be a barrier for anyone whether man or woman to achieve anything"

>Many young girls still lacking access to proper education
