I need an advice on what to expect on a situation i just noticed on thursday night. A United states company CIO, Chief Information officer, sent me a mail on thursday night.

The subject of the message is the name of the company and the content is just TEST. The mail was sent using the firstname.lastname@company.com .

I then decide to search for the name on the company website and i found out he is the third in rank of the company and happens to be Vice-president/cio.

The interesting part is that i own a two word phrase domain name in which the first word is the same first word as theirs. Now, My question is

As a Guru in this industry and From your experience, do you think they are interested in buying my name or the CIO is just playing around with my Email? Or what do you think, generally in this kind of situation?

Personally, I m suspecting its another type of scam that i might not yet be aware of, which is why i m putting it to experience gurus to help me burst if its a scam...

Do not reply. If the domain has 3months or less to expire, and they haven't said any other thing in the next 2 weeks, renew the domain and sit back and watch.

don't bother replying to such messages except if you have excess time. They normally target newbies. In domain experience so far, Not every message you got, you must reply to. That's why I put most of my domains at a BUY IT NOW price.

Up to a month plus now.... GoDaddy has bug issues with add payment method.... Up till now I can't add payment method in order to register a domain.... Pls any alternative to register my new searched domain name?

If you have a Nigeria paypal you can add it on Godaddy or if you so like, you can use your mastercard or Visacard directly on Godaddy.

i m sorry oga expertix as i wont be posting the name here so as not to trigger traffic i dont need.

All i can say is that its a two word phrase(8 letters) that is popular in the US. Its not a product or service name. I m not sure its going to sell, but i ve kept it cos i like the name.
