In my own view For them to post almost 6 months old news today it means they are trying to trap some investors.

The result of First Bank has reinforced my earlier stance that I must watch some companies with nice telescope. Q3 EPS was N1.25 and Final EPS was N1.21. Meaning that they made a loss in Q4. I will listen to their Conference call to know what they will say about the future. Impairment has come down from 226b in 2016 to 155b in 2017. I am yet to see appreciable recoveries. I will wait to see what their Q1 will look like. The EUGAZ are catching up with First Bank in terms of earnings. Which means they are losing customers to other banks. There is one interesting income head that the current CBN governor created for the Banks. ATM maintenance charge of N52.50 per month. First bank has been religious about deducting this every month. GTBank has refused to latch onto this income. I believe they understand the sentiments of their customers. No wonder they had increase in customers in 2017.

They might not have made a loss in Q4. Most likely auditor and cbn clipped their wings

You no lie at all. The market has been slow and there is no hope of it getting better next month or the next or the next as we draw close the polls.

The only thing is that the bears give opportunity to smart investors to buy at low price.

@Ihedi seems your Oando heading for car park again ooh. This stock not good for hold, always demonstrating volatile tendencies - pump, dump, head for car park and cycle continues. We wait to see its behaviour in May after forensics....

These companies releasing the Q1 result without completing the release audited result. Do the board that sat for Q1 different from those that sat for the audited result, why should they release Q1 without dividend information in respect of 2017 audited result.
NSE the more you look the more you see.

That might be a great opportunity to mop if they dont do the Dangflour and Dangsugar "manipulation" afterall some people bought at 2.91 hunting dividend.

Dont mind those folks, my only consolation was that I got some decent units of D Flour at 13 b/4 closure

Just got a feeling that it might nt come down to this level at closure.

While we wait for gurus to comment, let me just add that there's a time for everything under the sun.

Seasons don't last forever. When the January bull came, some were so bullish that they thought it would last forever. Same with the present bear. It's interesting that some are already extrapolating this trend till next year. grin

Many events are going to occur that will affect the market in one way or the other. For example, budget approval is a key investment decision because it stalls projects.

To cut my long story short, the bull is still coming. When it does, some of you will be wondering what is driving it while some others will forget themselves as usual thinking it will last forever. cheesy

At least with my over 10yrs of investing in on NSE, I have witnessed the bad, the urgly and also the best. Presently, by God grace I don't incures losses again. I gained in capital appreciation and in dividend. At present, some investors are sleeping when they ought to have sold their holdings after price appreciation and dividend. There will never be a major price gains again with the general elections in view what will be happening is short gains and looses so my advice is sell your holdings, invest in may be TB for like six months then come back again when prices would have gone down cos some foreign investors would dump shares to keep their capital ahead of general elections and this will affect the prices to depreciate enmass. So investors be wise! I bought ucap 240k units @2.80 got a dividend of 0.35kobo per unit and sold for 3.76 now the price is dancing between 3.29 and 3.40, if I want to buy back @3.29 with the same fund, would get additional 30k units so that is the way to go investing on NSE. Am putting my money in tb and this will give me about 600k wen go back to stock, with all the money at lower prices, then will mop more shares giving me more money. My fellow that the way to go
