And contrary to popular belief, side chicks aren't always play things. Some would call it off unilaterally, no longer feel it, or even scheme to topple the main chick.

Moreover, financial security is the #1 reason on the list, which means the OP knows just how often it is the primary reason. Doesn't mean there aren't other reasons (whether primary or secondary) like you're opining.

He's mistaking normal cheating with being a sidechick. They are two very different things. A girl can cheat on her man for different reasons it's not always about the money.
But for a girl to willingly become a sidechick to a guy, it mostly always about the financial rewards, nothing else.

U need to come to Benin and see how young ladies who are sidechics are making a lot of fortune from married men. There was a story that was posted here on nl last year about one young Bini lady. I think her Facebook name is Mamus or something. She was a sidechic to one guy. This guy is made and he bought her a brand new car and opened a big boutique for her. It was the guy's wife that brought the issue on Facebook and exposed the girl.she immediately deactivated when other ladies started hurling insults at her. What of Toke Makinwa. Hope u have heard Toke's now a side chic to one 71 yr old rich dude. Why is it that in Nigeria we hardly see ladies accepting to be sidechics to men to who are broke as hell.

You can't use definitive words like "only" when discussing most sociological issues.

Ladies do a lot of sieving. And if you think no lady gets lonely to the point of considering some guy they fancy who unfortunately has a girlfriend, then you have a lot of catching up to do. Unlike most guys who'd screw most of the gals they interact with if given the chance, most gals don't have the same predisposition with the opposite sex.

Can u imagine this man that is so tight fisted and lives in a rented single room..this man bought land for one young single mom. It was revealed that the single mom was his sidechic. How d man take get d money u might ask. He had to borrow the money he used in purchasing land for his single mom sidechic from money lenders.the tin cause serious yawa b/w him and im wife but d man no care.but then he's a govt worker and at least he can borrow. exactly! A girl can have sex with random men but that doesn't mean she's a sidechic. ShE's free as bird...she has sex with who she feels and when to have sex with. There are ladies like that. But for a lady to stick to one man and perform wifely or girlfriend duties when she knows u have a main bae then she has assumes the role of a sidechic. And majorly ...men who keep sidechics spend on them enormously. Agreed. What he's trying to say is, the other 4 reasons won't work on their own if there's no financial security involved. No Naija girl will just agree to become your backup girlfriend just because of the "thrill" alone or because of "freedom" or simply because she's "lonely"
