Good morning House. Pls I wish to apply for Australian PR subclass 189 but I av a restriction. I am a graduate of Economics but I av been teaching for the past 3 years. I wish to come in as a teacher because economics is not available under subclass 189.My assessment organisation is aitsl. What course can I take that will yield a positive review from AITSL.... Pls help

I think they only accept degrees in education.

If you have PGDE, it will fly.
Better to check AITSL site.

She only needs positive assessment (education) and having her occupation on the same list with yours. Is she an Accountant / Auditor? If yes, she may go with ICAA (CAAZ). Please check out @toslad).
hello praiseisgood , No she's not any accountant/auditor. her first degree is chemistry and works as a teacher in a government school. thought she can get an accessment from her own body and if positive, the 5marks can be added to my scores or can that only be done for same field spouses?

Anyone who has been assessed should help me with answer to enable me to know my next action.
Somebody help with this please.

Hello, please kindly attend to this question. I have been reading this thread for some time now. I must confess it's a bit diffcult to understand somethings. And I haven't come across anyone with a case like mine. I studied a 4year course (sociology and anthrpology) in a state university and I work as a sales and marketing rep in an oil and gas company which is not related to my field of study. Will my job contradict my course of study during assessment? On the other hand, am also a fashion designer. I saw it on the list of occupations. Can i choose it if the demand is not high and how can I get supporting document since I am self employed in that angle. So sorry for the long post.
we are on same path , studied sociology and anthropology ,worked in my husband's company for 2years before I went for a diploma course in fashion designer , I work for myself and no bank payment since my clients pays in cash and direct though i have CAC license but no tax payment ..hubby wants me to stand as the principal applicant cos of my skilled occupation. oga dey fear to write any exams .Infact I'm confused

What is your husband's occupation?

@horlakay,

Why can't you process PR nominating materials engineer than going as a student.

To answer your question, I will pick project management over the other one.

Dear Gurus. I am new on this thread and I have read from zero page to the page 15. I however have a peculiar case and would like your opinion on how to go about it.

I have the following:

HND Secretarial Administration from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic
BSc Psychology from University of Ibadan
MBA Marketing from Lautech

My husband is a Medical Doctor (MBBS) and also have a diploma in Anaesthesia both from University of Ibadan

I have however been working as a Marketer in a commercial bank professionally for about 7 years now.

I am at a loss to what to go for as the only thing relevant to me in my opinion is Marketing Specialist 225113 under VETASSES.

Will I qualify for this as I have been working as a Marketer for 7 years even though my BSC is in Psychology?

Thank you as I await your professional advice.

@Christyline,

How long has your husband been practicing?

@horlakay,

Without work experience, getting a 70 for ITA maybe difficult. The student visa may be a good option if you can finance it.

Hi eveyone,i have just been reading posts from accountants,engineers and other sciences proffessionals on this forum. I am a lawyer but i am discouraged because it seems there are no chances for Nija lawyers in Australia as i have not seen any lawyers showing interest in migration on this forum.Though solicitors, judicial and other officers in which category i fall are part of the occupations list.Somehow i feel i have no guidance.Oga Bellong and others pls help.Any info about solicitors and judicial or other legal proffessionals in Australia?Thanks

You must first be called to the bar in any jurisdiction of Australia before you can submit expression of interest. Google the law society of the state of your interest to understand the process.

You sure understand that law is differently practice in different countries and jurisdictions. You have to be able to practice law here before you can migrate as a lawyer.

It is a long process mate, that is why you don't see anyone talking about it. If you are married, your spouse can be the principal applicant if the occupation is on the list.

Good evening all. I have been over the moon since I found this link, all I needed was guidance and I have got all that here. Thanks guys.
I have a little problem however. I studied industrial chemistry in school but I got a job in a commercial bank as an internal control almost immediately after school which was 9 years ago. Internal controls are assessed by vetasses. My question is can i be assessed as an internal control irrespective of my degree in chemistry?

Not a GMPC.....

You really do not sound like a #GMPC because you have asked an informed question smiley. However, you need to check on Vetasses site, there is a pdf for all the occupations assessed by them and the caveats. That will answer your question.

Hello Bellong, I am new to Nairaland, God bless the mastermind and all the contributors to this topic. Please, I will need help in assessing my realistic chances for skilled immigration to Australia with the following points and profile.

Age: (25 points)
Education: (20 points)(ANZSCO
Code) - 133111 - Construction Project Manager
IELTS: L8.0, S7.5, W7.5, R7.5 (10 points??)
Work: 3yrs+ (5 Points)

With 60 points, I presumably stand a better chance with the subclass 190? My main question is that I have a 5yr degree, MSc both in Estate Management, and a PhD in Construction and Project Mgt all earned in Nigeria Universities.

With these qualifications what are my chances for a positive assessment with Vettasses for Construction Project Manager, with a 3yr+ work experience as a Construction Manager with almost identical job description with (ANZSCO Code) - 133111 - Construction Project Manager?

Thank you for your help in advance.

I honestly don't understand what you wrote here bro. Have you seen the Tuition fees you'll have to pay?

Even acceptance fee alone is generally more than the combined total of everything you can possibly spend on PR even if you take like 5 English tests.

At least one year will still be deducted from your work experience period by Vetassess. so getting 5 points from work experience may not possibly be feasible presently.

Guys,
please, has anyone experienced this before? While trying to pay for EA assessment using first bank card linked to a Dom account (Dollar), I got a message of invalid transaction on the site. I tried severally and was getting same message. I called the bank and I was told that because the site does not request further security (card pin or one time password), firstbank will not allow the transaction to go through for security reasons. That except I visit the bank to fill a form to indemnify the bank, I can't proceed with the transaction. (Though the EA payment portal is a secured site starting with https://..........

Did anyone experience this scenario? Please I need some guidance to pass through this dilemma and I will apprreciate this

Thanks

Some banks require you fill an indemnity form to be able to do online (FX) transaction and I think First bank is one of such banks.

Just walk into any of their branches to do this, it shouldn't take more than 20mins.

GTB and some other banks do not require an indemnity as you would be sent an OTP when you do online transactions.

I hope this is helpful.

If you are sure you will be positively assessed as a Construction Project Manager and obtain 20pts from English as you anticipate, Skilled Regional Subclass 489 is sure bro, that is 75pts altogether, which is better than student visa.
