Did you guys read this?
Drop Box visa applicants say U.S. is revoking and cancelling valid visas of Nigerians.

Mrs Ibidapo, who did not want her real name used so as not to antagonize U.S. embassy officials, said her visa was abruptly revoked by the United States Embassy in Lagos, for no reason after she was invited to the embassy and told to come with her valid US Visa.

” I have been crying everyday with no-one ready to tell me why my visa was revoked, I have never overstayed in the US and was there last year, without any incident, she said.

She is not alone. The number of Nigerians having such visas revoked by the US embassy in Nigeria, has risen sharply in the past months.

There's the story of Agatha. She's previously been visiting down south Colorado with her two year visa. She now decides to visit up north Pennsylvania for her Nephew's graduation this June.

I Googled Pennsylvania and realized it shares a border with new York. This will look suspicious in light of the recent Canada Asylum wahala. Especially when the US Immigration cannot find any connection between her and Pennsylvania. Once your travel plan deviates from the norm you become a suspect.

We pushed the Embassy to take these drastic steps. They have appealed over and over again but we refuse to heed. We are driven by this selfish desire of every man for himself, all others be dammed. This should be embarrassing to all of us but a proverb says: the mad man is not ashamed, only his relatives are ashamed on his behalf.

Many will still continue this path, and more stringent measures will be applied.

this means that only those going to the southern part of US are safe for now, so even if you have a genuine reason to visit a city in the northern part of US ,you are still a suspect...e go better !

by the way is it that the canadian border is porous or how do Nigerians try to get into Canada, I watch the documentary on the Canadian border patrol on TV and it looks very strict and effective to me.

The Canadian border isn't porous. The problem is that Nigerians are trooping to the border and seeking asylum
.Some say they are being persecuted because they are gay, some claim female circumcision and all sort of stories. And of course they are so many,so that got the Canadian government concerned that something isn't right

So ok, they revoked their visa. But dont you know thats deception? Thats scam.

If they hadnt issued visa people wont book hotels and buy plane tickets to begin with. So can the victims get their money refunded to them from hotel and airline.

Even the visa application fee has to be refunded back. The visa revocation is not because these people did anything wrong. They acted in good faith. This is wickedness

i agree with you on this, why issue a visa ,allow the fellow to buy a ticket of over 400k book hotel for close to $2000 and then send the fellow back at the airport, the embarrassment of coming back to your house and family members who are expecting a call from you in US upon arrival is already a big trauma to your psyche.. I mean wetin you wan talk say happen to you for airport, they will even think that you carry drug for luggage say customs catch you ...

It’s not a scam. We actually are the scammers. Thousands of Nigerians obtain US visas “in good faith”, only to end up seeking asylum at the Canadian border. Go figure.

The US is not responsible for refunds if your visa is revoked. As they have maintained, a visa is simply authorization to appear at a US Poe to request entry, which is at the sole discretion of the cbp. You should plan accordingly. I understand the frustration, but this is squarely a consequence of our own lack of honesty.

You say wetin

So can people get their lodging and plane reservation back?

Why issue visa if it will later be revoked? Since its the job of cbp at poe to grant or deny access or entry to the soil why is consulate interferring in that role.

They should allow people proceed with the issued visa and leave the officers over there at poe to make the call.

This your answer is not good.

My dear this your case get as ebi, to the best of my knowledge U.S. embassy don't call non imigrant applicant for interview , you book and choose the interview date on embassy website then go for your interview that day. If someone fill the application for you he/she should also book your interview date. I will advice you to read this thread from the beginning. Hope you did not enter one chance tongue

A visa is a privilege, not an entitlement. The problem is that many of those with revoked visas have not told us the whole story.

There is no "best response"... only the truth. The idea is NOT to obtain a formula to beat visa interviews.

1. Your sister invited you for...……

2. You intend to visit some nice places (like?) for tourism.

Answer this thing like a Nigerian abeg.

I'd like to answer like a human, not a Nigerian, as that is basically a meaningless statement or basically alluding to the fact that the default Nigerian state is to be dishonest and act entitled to foreign visas.

The VO may have gotten the entire story, but how are we sure? Just a few posts above, someone is asking what he needs to say in order to con his way to a visa. If his visa got revoked after he was found out, he'd be here caterwauling about lost flight ticket costs. Until we take responsibility for ourselves, we will continue to be treated with disdain and disrespect.

Those people are not going to get a refund for anything, America never promised them entry to the US, only a visa to present themselves at a US port of entry. You should plan accordingly.

The way you respond to post sef.
Why won't they get too many immigrant when VO will only issued visa for those people that cooked stories for them.
Genuine applicants will be denied because he/she doesn't demonstrate well, like is compulsory to learn how to answer questions at d us embassy...

Why can't they forget the interview thing and start issuing visa d right way by verifying documents before visa is approved.

Visa revoked is just nonsense to me.

The thing tire me o.

Interview person and convinced they merit visa and then go back to say no they cannot travel. These people see us like this now and so they treat us any kind of way, on top our money.

Nigeria is the biggest spender of any foreign nation on US tour. Look in America the consumer with the money is the boss. We are not getting visa free or jumping on plane free. We deserve some decent treatment.

I can understand not giving visa in the first place....but to give visa and then revoke it? All because some Nigerians are sneaking through to Canada. Are all the revoked visas intended to be used to sneak through? If it is the determination and discretion should have been made upfront during interview and before visa was stamped.
