Thank you Benolola for that story.
People will give half stories and cause mild panic. Now this makes sense.

As for the people talking about revoked visas, read this slowly

" IT IS THEIR COUNTRY AND THEY ARE FREE TO DO AS THEY LIKE. BLAME YOUR GOVERNMENT THAT HAS ALLOWED YOUR COUNTRY TO GO TO THE DOGS. IF YOU ARE PAINED, ELECT A CORRUPT FREE GOVERNMENT AND BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT"

You are welcome Hon. LadyG

Let me add this for the public to note because most of us Nigerians are so quick to forget good that's why bad politicians keep winning elections.

I respect the US for making their US visa process simple and straight forward compare to other countries. This process has granted so many Nigerians the opportunity of visiting the most admire country in the world and reduced the abroad shakara of Nigerians within Europe & Asia. They even provided a reward system for returning back by granting 5 years drop box renewal process.

Instead of Nigerians to appreciate the US some individuals here in this forum have condermed the US embassy. I laugh at times when I read some ignorant posts.

Nigeria is going through a lot at the moment and funny enough it's difficult for you to contribute to the development because the very obbressed don't like to hear the truth. There are a number of Nigerians who took the risk left their comfort zone abroad to contribute to the development but what did they get? Frustration from the very obbressed they have in mind to help. I am a testimony to this fact so the best option is to keep praying for our nation.

Until Nigeria elect an average Nigeria who had the privilege of experiencing good life abroad then return back with passion for that country we will only be playing. I don't mean politician or big man child but a no body whose mentality have been built up over the years no more thinking like the average Nigeria mind set about life.

What's funny about the whole thing is

Those people supporting the guy all stayed abroad making destructive criticism on social media as if their noise will make any changes.

Also some that doesn't support him also stay abroad while some stay back home just going for tourism/visit.

So btw d two now who is selfish?

Everybody knew things is not working in nija at all so by staying abroad and making noise on social media won't solve anything, it will only make more damages. Come home let's fight for our right altogether.

Those that didn't support Twood knw what average Nigerians are facing and is better if they can find their way out, just like u guys did.

Are you guys born there? Twood and his supporters
You say things aren't working in naija and you want to bail out illegally...and it's ok
Someone points out how corrupt you and your country are, albeit harshly, and you scream blue murder.

Nobody is asking you all to stay in Nigeria. If it's not working move to your greener pastures. But why not do it legally? Some of you here would still criticize people choosing to go to Europe through Libya but wouldn't blink an eye to doing same but through America to Canada or migrating with a visit visa. Hypocrite much?
What stops the 'assylum seekers' from getting a Canadian residency visa? Nothing but our normalcy for deception.
There's the F1 Visa route to US.. Australia also does residency program...but we chose mass Exodus on visit visa thereby spoiling the chances of genuine US visitors

This past few weeks I've been moving from one article to another in search of tips, success stories and even bad experiences on getting an approved US B2 visa. Look, reading is very important and can be of great help if you really seek some help. Some Africans are lazy when it comes to researching and doing things by them selves and that's how we freak out on the day of accountability. God willing 11th July would be the very first time I'll face the US embassy here in Ghana and I'm doing all I can to go prepared. In fact, from all the rea
LadyGuinivere:

The answer to your question is on the US embassy website. Read it.
You do not wish to read and still have an attitude. You realize nobody is invested in whatever you get a visa or not?
ding and note taking from this blog and other useful sources, I'm 101% positive I'll ace the interview. God dey!
Here are some useful sources for what ever questions you seek answers too, even from former US consuls. I must say it's relieving to know that things work for your own good if only your intentions are as clear as water. From all I've read, all they really seek is honesty and it's up to you to convince them .

I will like to advice those with genuine intention of visiting the US not to be discourage by some sad news on visa cancellation or entry refusal.

Yes, there is a recent special check on Nigeria nationals at poe but most people don't tell you the true story where they abuse their visa.

We all know that at visa interview the VO ask some questions and then start typing as we are answering. That's a note which will remain on your page once your visa is entered at poe.

In the past people get their visa use it when they like and how they like but now they look closely to your statements at poe. For instance, I was able to find out the truth how a family was denied entry at poe because I am here in the US. They had 2 years family visa years back but instead the husband decided to visit first before this recent strick check then he stayed 5 months went back to Nigeria and came back again now in his 4th month here. Then his wife and kids where on their way to join him last week but at poe the officer was able to see it was a family tourist visa and the man have been here twice on his own for months. In this case the family was taken into custody for more questioning that revealed the man was working illegally here and doing 5 months in 5 months out. So they deported them back and homeland security call the man cell phone letting him know they have information he is working illegally so should leave the country.

Now, I am sharing this for us Nigerians to know that whatever decision we take regardless of pursing better opportunity there is a process. The word process here means you must be ready to face some hardship or. Challenges don't try to be too smart. The difference between Nigeria and the US is that they keep records which is data so it will remain there for as long as they want. They use this data to make decisions in their regulations so that even if early few beat their system surely others cant.

Patience is the key it doesn't mean you are stupid so when you come here avoid working illegally at all cost. Those who over stay can be forgiven and still adjust their status but those who work and are caught can't under US immigration law.

Those running to Canada are mostly greedy because they don't want to go through the process here as they expect free housing and feeding while seeking Asylum. Do not be deceived by those in Canada they are in a camp trust me it's a place you wouldn't want to be at list for you to get a US visa l believe that you have attained some fair level in the Nigeria society except otherwise.

Try to reduce your expectations when visiting the US it will help you. Yes it's a beautiful country but not easy to survive as a new comer untill after awhile.

Good luck

thanks so much for this info, very kind of you to share this, at least there is hope for a genuine visit then

Good evening house. I have an interview on Monday next week I need some clarifications please. The last time I applied I was denied which was an Academic tour visit to New York with others from same campus. Unfortunately it wasn't a group interview as we thought and some of us were denied including myself. The agency in charge bleeped up big time. No prior pre interview preparations and all. My concern now is that in my previous interview after answering series of questions the Consular asked if I have a relative in the United States i said yes my elder sister ( a citizen) and whereas on my Ds160 where i was asked if I have any immediate relative in the United States i filled no and i filled Yes for other relatives. Although I had corrected those errors can I send an apology letter to the embassy stating my previous errors which arose as a result my hastiness in filling the ds 160. More so, I came to discover that my mum's maiden name is what's on her passport and not our Father's surname which was what I used for my previous application. However I had already corrected that. Also in my recent D's 160 I wrote I would be visiting University of Colorado and American Musuem of Natural history as part of my travel plans and the major purpose is to go see my mum who just had a surgery recently she has Resident legal permit. What are my chances, I am currently in my final year I planned travelling on July 8th and come back July 18th, I have a business I run on part time basis and I have a good no of cash as well in my account but I am not the one sponsoring the trip. What I intend using as strong ties are my project work, NYSC, Business e.t.c. kindly give your suggestions I would highly appreciate it.

I always knew there was more to the "visa revocation" stories. This totally makes sense and thanks for bringing it here.
The true fact remains that if you have genuine reasons to travel then there's absolutely no reason to fear going in through ORD or JFK...Capich!

the thing tire me out, it was fellow in the inland security at the airport who advised them on that move as he cannot guarantee that they will scale through the immigration guys, the man and his wife were there last year and were planning to take the kids along for vacation this time around mind you the kids got their own visas a few weeks ago . It's so discouraging to hear of all these happenings I might even put off my trip till next year as things are.
This information doesn't seem too far fetched when compared to a lady's Chicago POE story in the birth thread. I felt like personally apologizing and hugging her after reading that story. I know she got the Visa for a different purpose and decided to use it for birthing but still the insult nor be here. I wonder why Chicago is notorious for these type of stories. Is it because it is close to Canada?

I'm surprised I've never visited his profile before, just did. He hasn't come on/ been seen on Nairaland for well over 48hrs from records. In essence, dude may have been up to some other business without even knowing of the "corruption that has been fighting back" against him. Hopefully we hear from him pretty soon, not in a blazing with fire mode though (toning some aspect down wouldn't be bad), but the truth where it hurts must continually be said by him to those deserving it....

A couple of names I earmarked in my mind won't join the bandwagon haven't let me down at all, just remaining one or two persons I want to see where they stand. Thumbs up LadyG, NothingDoMe, Sugah, Justwise, Shrekandfiona, pureTayo, Seyewest, etc for holding up! Loads of regards....

see if you can get an expedited interview appointment, if not call the organizers to know you can use this payment for the next conference .

This is why we should learn to use the 'register to pay later' option till visa us granted since the vo might not check the conference paperwork.
