Every would be bride or groom goes the extra mile to make a good first impression on the inlaws to smoothen the way for further discussions.

It isn't just an African thing, it is so all over the world. Even in ultra liberal societies like the US, u have bride's wearing decent gowns and toning down the loud makeup when it is time to meet the inlaws. You have grooms, doing away with tee shirts and jeans for suits all in a bid to make a good impression.

Almost everyone will accept things they can't change, our parents continue to be who they are because we keep compromising.
