Taaah, I bind you first thing first. Never again, NEVER AGAIN OGA!

I understand your point of view. But it's not yet as serious as you are assessing it to be.... There hardly will be a shocker if you have those factors in your favor, believe me. Standards remain what they are, just a little strictness here and there. It will take a collapse of Nigeria for one to be in for a shocker! That then is the only time I will be really disturbed about the US visa process.

Actually read there was a protest today in Plateau State demanding the Governor should resign, any confirmation?

Their market of extorting us will reduce, and they will be having problems too US Embassy /consular will be having problems with their account /financial sector. [/b]what they will see is a very Sharp decline in the money the remit to their US government.

Lol who says USA cares if Nigerians visit their country? Last I checked there is only one direct flight between a US city and a Nigerian City. So they care not. Since it’s vacation most of us applied for a visa for ... Why not go spend your vacation somewhere else ? South Africa denied my visa application three years ago (I had a strong travel history) when I applied to go on vacation under the guise of “insufficient funds”. A few weeks after I got another job and didn’t even go on a vacation that period . Till date I’ve not applied to visit South Africa .

Lolz! You guys are really attaching that much importance to the $160 visa fee in the scheme of things? That's seriously funny!

Consulate affairs is only one part of an embassy. If it is all about visa fees why does the US not charge visa fees to citizens of EU member states? Probably because they make a lot more money from trade deals between both nations. It costs any government more to deal with the liabilities that come with an illegal immigrant than the $160 visa fees. So they gain by earning visa fees from desperate west africans (Nigerians and Ghanians) and denying who they so wish to deny. I haven't witnessed any crave for US visas in east or southern africa the way I see in Nigeria and Ghana. Southern africans (residents of Lesotho, Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Swaziland and Botswana) prefer to go to South Africa to spend their money. Citizens of East african countries prefer to go to UAE, Thailand, Qatar, China, Vietnam... to spend their vacations.

Guys... Can we dispel this rumor that if we stopped applying for U.S Visa en mass, they will sit up and start issuing us visa, well I'm sorry to burst your bubbles, All Embassy worldwide have a budget and funds from visa application does not have any effect on their budget meaning if Nigerian stopped applying for U.S and the number of applicant reduced from 1000 per day to 100 per day, what will happen is reduction in U.S Embassy staff not their salary.

N57600 is nothing... Training Visa Officer/Consulate Officer in Nigeria is more important to them than the money from Visa application because U.S Aids/grant to Nigeria Govt will pay the visa fee of more than 3 million Nigerian. We Nigerians are good specimen to experiment and train with.

I invited my mum for a visit but all the stories here are somehow discouraging ... hopefully everything goes well on July 9th with her interview sad

it's close a bit July 9
Things might have be in d right position...
but at the moment thgs are not smiling along with the VOs. Ur mum should appear transparent in everything they ll ask her.
As I've said earlier, let's be hopeful...

But to my own path, I am seeing towards middle of July if the VOs sees the traffic of applicant and sharp decline in the money they make from them "Nigerians "on visa application.

They will look into it... no one wish to just be a father Xmas, the little money 57k+ to some it's a Pound of flesh...

so let's see how it goes

First of all, thanks for dropping your suggestions. But if you don't have any reasonable advice, please kindly move on to the next one.

To the main...

I am interested in getting a Non-immigrant visa to the United States. Lately, there have been a lot of rejections and to go to USA isn't by force for real. Thus, I've made up my mind that I'm applying for the NIV just twice, if the first goes through, Amazing..! If not, I'll try one last time.

The two NIV I want to apply for is the B1/B2 and F1 visa type. Now, the issue is which one should I apply for at first..? In case, I get denied the first time, which one should I go with for the first attempt so that the second attempt won't be seen as having immigration intent.?

Please kindly advice. Thanks and God Bless.

Thanks so much ...

I will post her transcripts here as it plays out after her interview.

I agree that the 57k ($160) would add up to large amount but just like someone already said above, I doubt if that amount would actually ‘pull a hair off US skin’ even if nobody applies for visa in Nigeria for the next 10 years sef .

The country is blessed enough not to feel it. They’re making more internally here compared to what they’re generating from embassies. Besides, those embassies are funded by bonds/budget every year through tax and not applicants visa fees ... As matter of fact, they stand to loose way more on each wrong applicant they issued visa to and become illegal immigrants here by just paying $160 for visa fees.

God should help us take away all these selfish leaders we have right now and give us a new beginning of joy again in our Nigeria and the traffic to the embassy would reducesad

Several funny comments here, so you think the US that banned 7 countries from coming into their country give a damn about Nigerians not applying for visas?

So what are you saying...

Every Govt organisation must have a budget plan for the fiscal year and no matter how much they make in Nigeria, I'm sure the funding of such budget will not come from income from consulate service, it's a peanut when compared with what they charge and make in India,China and Mexico.
Nigerian tourist in U.S is less than 5% annually even though they issue visa for 20% of applicant meaning we misuse our tourist visa most of the time. If Nigerian decided to stop applying for U.S visa, it will not affect U.S Govt.

The only reason a poor man never realizes how important he is to the rich is because the rich never begs him for anything.... Hence the poor would do anything to received money from him. cheesy

Don't be carried away, 90% of the rich people around the world feed the headlines... What you have are fabricated riches that feed on your praises. Like all those rich men that get the high tables in occasions *smh. Try to see their real worth.... Marvel ll be your middle name.

Bro it's a psychological matter.. Like Kanye West said -in his delirium or whatever.

Oh! P.S
Give a poor man enough wealth over night and make him say "yes sir" let's see.
Make nija reach 60% of US ($1=N144) make I see who wan leave papa land come become CNA. ...

First of all you have to accept that you are worthless and powerless before you become a captive.

Now, nobody is saying that one country can't ban another from entering, but be ye assured, no country with this love of money can ban Nigerians or India from entry, take it or leave it.
