Majority of the denied transcripts for community College that I read here are from people with BSc in Nigeria going for associate degree in the US. Logically, it doesn't make sense so I can understand why they are never granted.
My younger sister wishes to go to a community college in US, she's 18 and finished high school last year. She intends to graduate at the community College and then proceed to a 4year university to spend two years and then earn BSc.
What's her success rate?

Anyone looking for a cheap uni in US should look into these universities, they are about 8k dollars or less
Dickinson university
Bemidji state university
Alcorn state university
University of Texas of the Permian basin.
I have submitted my application and waiting for response.

Someone should please look into my first paragraph and answer. (probability/chances of her getting visa)

@Jpoppins generally, the OISS of schools are not legally able to scan your I-20 to you through email. Once you receive notification that your I-20 has been shipped to you, you can send a mail to the school OISS asking for your SEVIS number and SEVIS school code. With these you can proceed to make your SEVIS payment and even book your visa appointment.

Please i'm going to texas, can I book flight to JFK and then take a bus or train to Houston (it's about 23hrs). Want to know if it may be an issue at JFK POE considering that I'm supposed to take flight to Houston. Just trying to cut cost. Thanks.

cc
No it wont be an issue but have your bus ticket in hand incase you are asked. I don't think Newyork to Houston is 23hrs, it should be more than a day by bus. A quick check on Greyhound shows about 40hrs for the Fastest itinerary and it goes for about $180. You might want to check flight, I believe it might be comparable if you consider stress you will go through with bus.

She can start preparation and write SAT this October. With good scores, she can get into Alcorn with full ride. A guy posted his transcript with full ride to Alcorn state university. I know another person whose sister got a full ride to Alcorn.

As for the university college, I don't see any reason for going there except you're the type who is lazy, no offense. Applications should open soon for some schools. The best bet is to apply to schools and get into a university where the probability of getting a visa is almost 1.

Please I need expert advise in the house, had my first interview on 17th of July but was denied, planning on applying tomorrow, my issue is i filled in my dad as my sponsor at first then went with both my dad and my mum's bank statement due to the total amount of money in my dad's account...I was denied visa. I'm planning on reapplying, my mum's account is actually better than my dad's due to the in flow and outflow of cash. My dad is a salary earner as well and makes over 400grand but his account history is not as solid as my mum's. He's account is always left with about 10-30k monthly my mum has stable money in her account monthly. Please kindly advise what i should do should i stick with my dad's account or change it to my mum i plan on reapplying tomorrow. Thanks

August 4 is a Saturday. I have my appointment on that day.

Meanwhile, everybody keeps telling me the US Embassy doesn't give a weekend date.

Am I the only one on the 4th?

Hello people, @Lagosismyhome and other great minds here.

I sincerely need your candid advice.
I have been denied F1 visa twice at Lagos US Consulate on 13th and 21st July.
I was first interviewed by the black American woman who didn't bother to peruse my i-20 form for the GA and stipends I was offered for my Msc program, she first asked how I heard of the school and as I was saying that I did an extensive search online, she immediately cut me off and proceeded to other questions like who will be paying for my studies, then i told her that school offered me a GA and my elder brother will be taking care of other expenses.
She then asked if I was married and I said yes, she asked any children and my reply was None yet. She finally asked if I have traveled out before, I said No, I have not had reason to do so. She then said that refusal statement and gave the blue paper.

I then immediately reapplied with a new ds-160 with no changes, and was able to book a week after the first appointment. I was interviewed by the young guy at window 3, it was a bit interactive at least he is a guy like me, he asked all the usual questions which I answered to my best.
I was surprised when he said he wouldn't be able to approve my visa and that I can reapply.

Now, I am confused whether to retry the third time at Abuja embassy as the school would be resuming on the 23rd August and I also intend to use my uncle as my sponsor in my new ds160, cos he has sufficient fund to show as SOA.

At both interviews, I was not asked for my SOA which one would say disqualified my chances.

Please candidly advice me as I am down with these disappointments and going financially drained with all the expenses.

Thanks

I have found that the only time taking a bus saves you money in the US is if you have booked weeks earlier. A lot of the time, there is often not much difference between airfare and bus ticket. In fact, some times, buses are more expensive. It is wiser to check for flight ticket from JFK to Houston ahead of your trip. That road trip go break you oo. More than 24hrs on the road after a flight of over 10hrs is not fun. And who said it is 24hrs by the way? You are looking at over 30hrs on the road by bus.

It is not new for appointments to be fixed on Saturdays. It is done for only student visas especially during this time of the year when a lot of people are looking for appointment dates.

Try to check the price of Abuja to Houston because it is usually cheaper and you can save yourself about 100k flying from Abuja. Also compare the price for different departure dates.
