That's not true unless you're joking.
Black soup is made from a lot of spices and vegetables, some blended. Cooked with a little palm oil, dry pepper or so with your meat, dry fish , crayfish etc.
It's taste is glorious.

It is also very medicinal and good for the body, l enjoyed black soup years ago when I visited Benin City, Ekpoma, Uromi during my university days, I had lots of friends from Edo State and they spoiled me with local delicacies and black soup was one of them

Its really nice.
Ondo people also cook it. You can eat it with rice if you want sef.

Yes, chai, you are bringing past memories to me, l thought the soup was peculiar to Edo State alone, anytime l am able to visit Nigeria again, I am visiting Edo State because of black soup grin
