Good evening here and happy Friday.

I am student of one of the University here at ilorin and i am into fabric business to help myself

Yesterday, as i was coming back from school; a customer ordered for a fabric and i went to delivered it to her so on my way back home, it's already like 6pm.

I decided to branch at a friend house who stay around the area i went to delivered the fabric but unfortunately, I couldn't meet her at home and her number was not reachable so i decided to trek abit maybe we would meet on the road as the time is around 6:30pm and she isn't the type who stay out for long.

After i pass like 3 buildings to her house, I saw a transparent black nylon near the road (it has almost felt inside the gutter) so i passed it and my instincts told me that was a money from the way it look, I went back to check what was inside the nylon and was so surprised to see a bundle of money wrap together.

I picked it up and waited for like 30minutes in that spot to see if anyone will pass claiming he or she was looking for lost money. After like 30minutes; no one show signs of searching for any lost money.

it's already getting late around 7pm, so i took bike to my house .

Getting home, I opened the nylon and counted the money and it was 106,000

I was feeling somehow and thinking of the condition the person would be because the money look like that of those traders based on the way it was wrapped together so i left my house early in the morning today to that same spot maybe the person might appear or i would see anyone talking about lost money but everyone were busy with their business so i left back home with the money.

The reason why i created this thread is to hear your advice on what to do with the money because part of me is telling me to give the needy the money , another part of me is telling me to use the money on my business and also get a small phone from it because the one i am using presently isn't that good and i need some cash for my business as well.

Please i will really appreciate your suggestions

All of the comments here, seem to point to the fact that op is left with no option. I dont think thats entirely the case tho. Op you could walk down to a radio/Tv station..whichever is nearest to you, and ask that they mention it on air ( like they do with missing kids )..and state where and when the said amount was found. I wanna believe someone who knows someone who knows the owner of the money may be listening/Watching at that time. Now when uv done this..and the owner isnt forthcoming, then maybe you could explore the options mentioned here..

If the money has the band of a bank, you can contact the bank if they can track anyone that withdrew that amount. Don’t bother giving it to the police, they’re gon share it.

Op do not go to that same spot again before them label u thief, kidnapper or ritualist.. Don't say u were not warned.. Either u turn the money over to the nearest NPF station (which they will gladly share amongst themselves) at least u go reduce the red eye for junction that day.

Or use the money to do what's really pressing right now. U say u need money & u saw money that has refused to leave u then u come here to ask what to do
I don't really know how God works but don't u think someone higher knows u need the money?

Well if ur still scared send me 20% & i will pray for u b4 u start spending it cheesy

Abeg spend ur money joor

op, go to Royal FM tell them you found certain amount dont disclose the actual amount and dont take the money with you.

Drop your phone number with them in case some one come forward to claim the money, they should call you.

After waiting for a while and no one show up , kindly do the following :

* take out of the money to support ur biz

+ buy food stuffs or cartons of indomie for the orphanage home close to you.

* keep ur mouth shut abt d money

* do not give any part of d money to church ooooooo

*****************************

similar thing happened to me like two months now. At the close of work, i was on my way home tracking along Ahmadu Bello way, opp Bubbles 007 and KWIRS on the walk way , i found 7 pieces of 1000 note . Before i picked it up, ummmhhhh i have to summon courage. I quickly made a cross sign and then i picked the money. I really felt sad for the owner of the lost money. Several thoughts criss crossing my mind on what to do with the money.

I beckoned on a recharge card vendor well known to me who is like five steps from the point i found the money to hold the money in case the owner comes looking for the money.

People of Nairaland, up till today the card vendor has not return the money nor claim to have given the money back to the owner.

I will give the card vendor till next year to flex with the money. By next year, i will descend on him to retrieve the money through the help of my uniform friends.

The card vendor does not know that i dont joke with MONEY & WOMEN cheesysmileywink

This is the first time in my life that i will ever come across such amount on the road,

Wow,

Dilemma indeed.

A part of me would love u giving it to the police, then again, i don't trust 'em.

Another part, give to the needy, or church, as you suggested.

It could also be a blessing in disguise for you to use, and use well.

Then again, the money could be ritualistic and a trap for anyone picking it(dont wanna scare you, heard so many things, plus shít does happen)

Or you could keep it, till someone mentions looking for his/her missing cash(its possible tho)

Dunno if it's just me, but always feel uncomfortable picking cash(that's not mine) on the roadside, let alone spending/investing with it. I don't bother really

Just be safe
she should just give it to the media house... Not police ooo.

My guy this might be blessing oh.. don't dull. Do you even know if the money was stolen by a slaymama and she misplaced it.

My advice, take the cash to your bank and deposit it, then withdraw from your ATM. Send me 10k and keep the rest.

PM me.
