You must think I’ll delete this handle because you’re going on & about over an oriki. You suffer from intense delusion. Since you would rather call Obalufon to tell other people about your oriki then you would have to call on the same Obalufon to tell you about my backrounds that I have already mentioned.

Your princehood goes as far as the class claimed by the sons of grade C kings. You know, if I came to your hometown I would get better treatment then you; if you came here, nobody would give a fxxk about you & your baale ancestors. grin. This is how you can tell the difference between you & I not on the pages of NL.
grin grin grin as usual èebúniwà. This one won't save you. Post your oriki and compound name in Oranmiyan and let's see your claim.

Like I said, you will run..... I am not perturbed at all with your negative words as you can see my Oriki works for me cheesy cheesy. I am as calm as ever...... Just post your oriki sé cheesy and let's see who is worth being glorified as the REAL PRINCE. Mind you, princehood does not bring money to one's pocket nor a stigma.....Many warrior sons in the ancient Yoruba Ooni Oranmiyan descendant are acknowledged and mine own ancestors are acknowledged.

Mr. leave distraction and do the needful. After all you claimed ILEIFE. Funny enough I am the one that's supposed to shy away from posting it if I had lied but I posted it for obalufon to see it on this same platform. So do the needful obalufonIII. Proof yourself.

Unfortunately, you made me do this to you because of your actions online. As far as I am concerned, there are so many obalufon descendants with glorious characters but you are proud, disrespectful and ignorant of history.

Apart from taking glib on this thread:https://www.nairaland.com/1523702/oluyares-igbo-aborigines-ife-still/11

Mr. Olu olodo that has never stepped foot in Ilare in his life & knows nothing about Ogbooru other than what he gleams from internet pages has suddenly claimed Ogboru in Delta is related to Sijuade.

Even though it is generally known & proven that Ogbooru went upnorth towards Oyo axis, Mr. Olu still managed to claim the man strolled into Niger-Delta. grin.

Even though Ogbooru lived & died in Ife Odan with his offsprings settled in Ife Odan, Ede & certain villages in Ipetumodu, Mr. Olu still managed to say Ogboru of Niger-Delta & Ogbooru have blood ties.

Even though Ooni Ogbooru’s name is a shortened version of the full one with different pronunciation & meaning to that of Ogboru in Niger-Delta, Mr. Olu still managed to claim they are a family.

Mr. Olu did this only because of names that looked similar from effect of elision but different in spellings, meanings, pronunciations. Without asking the Ogboru of Niger Delta their, Mr. Olu the Nairaland scholar has found a root for them in a man who never stepped Niger Delta. grin.

Olu, the great researcher. I guess that was a typo too? I have a list of your useless claims & will post reminders to you here so you can tell everyone they are typos. grin
Yes, I did mention Ogbooru in Delta state as a descent of Ogbooru . Are you not a clown for this post? grin grin I was privileged to work in 1990s briefly as a journalist to know this, when the Deltan Ogbooru made mention of this. I am sure, you were still going around with sokoto penpe grin cheesy

Let me inform you that there are people who claim descendants of Orumila in Itsekiri Delta state. obalufonIII,Information is powerful.. LEARN FROM WHO KNOWS MORE THAN YOU.

Oga, POST YOUR ANCESTORS NAME IN THE PAGES OF ILEIFE HISTORY COMPOUND BOOK.

My brother, it's more than just Oriki because the FOUR RULING HOUSES, in the original pattern before contracted that includes – Lafogido, Giesi, Ogboru, and Oshikola, HAVE DETAILED names in their BOOK of the descendants of Oranmiyan through his direct son called LAJAMISAN. I don't need to claim what I am not because it is not worth it all. So,obalufonIII has no where to hide. He is one those likened in the ancient past that made the oral account of Yoruba history looked distorted.

Fact glows in ILEIFE Sir and I am privileged through a distant cousin to get some information.

Loool so he has gone from Ogboru to Ogbooru? You keep learning from me per post. You should thank me for fine tuning your mind for free.

While we both know you’re lying about your 96 claim, do you know or did you visit Ogbooru house here to test the claim, no? Do you see the fault in your thinking now?

If you are that pressed to know my backgrounds, come to Ife, I will take you to the compounds, akodi & palace. That way, you can verify first hand. It is better than giving you my oriki for you to appropriate?
Leave the names alone if it Ogbooru or Ogboru, because what is relevant is for you to post the page your ancestors name appeared before Giesi. It is as simple as ABC.

I don't need your oriki Sir. Post your ancestors name in the Ruling Houses before Giesi was born. We can decipher it if it is true or not. Post it jaare. Are you not sure of yourself anymore? grin

You have gone from being related to Giesi, to Lajodoogun to Lafogido. You want me to post a name so you can key in? You know I have solid info on Ife & you want to bait primary data out of me fr yourown use. You are not very slick, my guy.

I am tired of finetuning your mind & won’t post my oriki. Arab is a literate culture and had no reference of Yoruba migration. However you believe Ife is older than Egypt when there is nothing amongst the literate cultures of old to reference this assertion. How can we reconcile these two sides on literature and history? Which ancient writing culture wrote about Ife or about its age?
Yes, Arab literate culture had no record of Yoruba migration because Yoruba was not our ancestors name. Their names changed but their kingly pattern, language and IFA practice stood them out among all.

One of the major challenges in the ancient world was near absolute destruction of any civilisations that the new stronger ones subdued. Now , there was an account that was detailed of 100,000s Hebrew movement traced to the region of Sudan but the whereabouts of these Hebrews became unknown till today.

And ILE IFE of Nigeria has no archeology record over 15,000 years, even in Yoruba calender, it's 10,000+ years. And the only closely knitted record of fossil human was discovered in Iwo Eleru, whose bone didn't match Yoruba ancestors through test carried out by scientists in Germany is not up to15,000 years grin

According to archeological finding , three places have the highest fossil human as today, and ILEIFE Nigeria isn't even known. They are as follows:

1. Morroco = 300,000 years approximately

2. Ethiopia = 200,000+

3. Israel = 200,000 years approximately

As you can see, Nigeria was the foundational home of Yoruba through archeology.

Funny, enough, obalufonIII paid no significant attention to world history, as you can see . Instead, he want to use obalufon as a shield grin to distract you through his raised questions .
Re: Yoruba Hebrew Heritage by Olu317(m):
WORLD CIVILISATION

It is very difficult to accurately give a single answer, as to what was the oldest civilization in the world. As per the research done by archaeologist and historians.

These five were the earliest civilizations of the world, which prospered around the same time, and they were

1.Mesopotamia,

2.Egypt

3. Indus Valley

4. Shang

5. Mesoamerica and Andean America South.

Although archaeological and anthropological evidence that proves that Egypt is one of the oldest civilization in the world, dating the existence of settlements back to 10000 BC. The civilization of Ancient Egypt has been responsible for several lasting legacies for humankind as a whole, including pyramids, mathematical systems, practice of medicine, glass making techniques, and also paper, in its earliest form.

Another discovered site is Göbekli Tepe (pronounced [ɟøbekˈli teˈpe], Turkish for "Potbelly Hill", which is an archaeological site in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey, approximately 12 km (7 mi) northeast of the city of Şanlıurfa . The tell has a height of 15 m (49 ft) and is about 300 m (980 ft) in diameter. It located in
Örencik, Şanlıurfa Province . This sanctuary was founded in 10th millennium BCE and abandoned 8th millennium BCE. The periods was Pre-Pottery Neolithic A to B. And this site is well preserved under UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Another striking similarity is the Yoruba calender without documented proof and the close date with Mesopotamian people's civilisation.

0balufonlll:
Good question.
I posited that emboldened because my brother Obalufon who believes in your school of thought claimed Ife is older than Egypt. How can Ife be older than the oldest known civilization then turn around to be Arab or Jew?
ObalufonIII,
You should wear this moniker with grace and pride and character. Sometimes I think I can tell what you ate from your writing. If you ate eba right before coming in you write rascally. If you ate amala with good ewedu or gbegiri, you are calm and very noble in thoughts. Here is my recommendation to you....do not eat eba before you come in here to type response. Please!

You cannot respect the ancient history of Egypt without acknowledging the teachings in the Old Testament in Bible. Much of what is contained in written archives, the cultic, artistic and ritualistic traditions of ancient Egypt came through the Biblical narratives, then followed by archeological inspections. There are still narratives of Egypt that archeology has not been able to unravel or understand....yet the myths and accounts told in the Bible and those archived secrets continue to be held in authority. Is this true or false?

Egypt in myth is as good as Egypt in historical timelines. Correct?

Ife in myth should not loose its authenticity because some late-age researchers are unable to match history and timelines to the narratives of old. Are you understanding me?

If Nineveh is a mythical IleIfe, then it stands that Egypt might be a contemporary of ancient mythical Ife.

According to Bible, Eden is the beginning and movements shifted Eastward. Correct?
Imagine Ife as the beginning....and movements shifted Eastward. Wherever that East is is not of importance at moment....just consider it a placeholder.

Then Oduduwa migrated from East to Ife. Right?

Could Oduduwa be a scion of those who left Eden (Ife) Eastward....and then returned back to mothership Ife?

More to come later...Im tied up at moment but got fired up with this your response to me and couldnt wait for the heat to cool off. grin
.....and talk like an Obalufon when you address people in here. Eat amala right before to help your mood. angry
Re: Yoruba Hebrew Heritage by Olu317(m):
Despite your inconsistency obalufonIII, ILEIFE(NINEVEH) that's not Nigeria ooo is older than Egypt of 5,000 BCE. This because Mesopotamian cultures is where Yoruba civilization was established and this can be attested even if there is no candid proof through Yoruba calender's date that's 10,000+ years .Thus the Yoruba spiritualism, was the basic pioneer culture the world long and enduring spiritualism developed.

Even those forebearers went against tradition before them to create a new thinking. Their own theories are not immune from new rules, understanding and creative inputs. By the way what do you call distortions? Proposing strong and convincing theories on Yoruba migration is a distortion? You must not be serious.
If this post does not convince one of how lost this bunch are, nothing will

1. Going against carefully laid out outlines of traditional knowledge
2. Creating (reinventing) history out of pure imagination (new thinking)
3. Creative inputs, not evidence based inputs

Strong and convincing theories only to a colonized mind that is useless to her people

It beats me how there is so much disgust for your African origin, black man wants to be anything but african. Sad indeed

1. When did the Ijebu-Sudan claim begin & what did the Ijebu people/kings say before that Ijebu-Sudan time? Look at Ijebu kings & warriors told the British during Yoruba internecine wars. See Samuel Johnson or go to National Archives, Ibadan. They told the colonialists they came from Ile-Ife & they fought the wars on Ife’s side to ensure Ile-Ife is restored. Why didn’t the Ijebu king & warriors of that period which was 19th century tell the British they came from Sudan?

I will share a journal article with you. It was published in 1956. While the author did refer to Waddai/Sudan, everything he said pointed towards Ile-Ife. The paper is treated somewhat as a ‘primary source’. The paper is treated somewhat as a ‘primary source’. Here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/elsdi8dqh8zcfvk/THE%20EARLY%20HISTORY%20OF%20IJEBU.pdf?dl=0

2. The problem with the second emboldened statement is that you are confusing religious myth wit actual event. Let us look at your statement which I emboldened - Ife is the center of creation means you are refering to Ife Oodaye which involved inebriate Obatala & Oduduwa landind on earth with a chain. This is purely religious. Actual Ife history says that there were people occupying villages before Oduduwa scattered everything. In fact, the Owa Ijesa & Ekiti kings met people in the several settlements where they became king. This means human creation did not start in this Ile-Ife or anyone at that. Even science speaks of emergence of several humans at different points of history.

3. What books? Are these books certified by communities of professionals or just a group of people with wild imaginative compositions?

4. Arab culture is a literate one. If there were any evet of the migration of the magnitude ofthe Yoruba, they would know. And as you have rightly said, Ife is older than the Egypt which is the oldest civilization. Now if Ife is older than Egypt then why should Ife come out of a much younger civilization of Arab or Hebrew?

5. As for Olu, see, I have encountered him on several threads. That man is an olodo, he knows nothing. I have pointed out & corrected several of is fradulent misinformations. There was a time that theif claimed because his Oriki included ‘Alaga Ogun’ then Lajoodogun’s real name was ‘Lagadogun’ and that he was a descendant of Lajoodogun. On another thread, he claimed rams & sheeps represented Oodua & Obatala - I had to call him out for that too. Several instances of that man’s fraud abound, o yapa gan. His style is to bend a fact to suit his preconceived idea then when a person who knows the actual deal calls him out he will 1. Evade the post all together. 2. Shift goal post to another idea 3. Rabble rouse and try to deflect the entire problem to another person. Tell him not to sit in the corner of his room, invite him to Ife & show him things about Obalufon to start with and that way he can begin to develop mentally & stop relying on his imaginations of what he knows nothing about. The fraud is a write off, abeg.
who were the people living in Ekiti prior to coming of the crown king from IFE...ILE-IFE is the source of creation Land of expansion..
Re: Yoruba Hebrew Heritage by Olu317(m):
0balufonlll:
Uncle Negro, Mr. Obalufon here is the one bound to act/speak like Obalufon & asides your banters about Eba/Amala, I see your point but:

1. The Torah/Bible’s historicity is inconclusive. In fact, the sources of Torah/Bible with its foundation in the Nicea council makes it an irrelevant thing in the face of history because no section agrees on what is what. In fact, apocryphal still debate the legitimacy of early books & Jesus. The Quran as far as its history from 500AD holds some credibility than the Bible/Torah. Hence, much of what is known of Egypt came from Greek & Roman records & not the Bible.

2. Ifa/Ife’s myth holds relevance religion/spiriruality & that is where it stops. The myth & history clash greatly. If you doubt, examples abound & we can create a whole thread to treat this. The older folks only tried to separate what was history from what was myth. I am in no place to fault you if you choose to approach history differently. I may just get tempted to wade in if a topic I’m in the know of gets brought up.

3. It is OK if you think of Ife as the beginning. I do not think of Ife as the beginning of anything, not even monarchy. Ife may have been more popular but other Yoruba towns must have co-existed with Ife & added exchanged ideas/culture with Ife. E.G: Sango, Esu, Oya & so on that werent indegenous to Ife.

4. You spoke from the angle I thought of & asked Olu. That is, Yorubaland/Ife being the center Arab/Hebrew culture sprang from as opposed to Herew/Arab being the source for us Yoruba. The angle seems very interesting & compelling but to me, there are no sources to enhance such pursuit. What makes it worse is that there are oral traditions & festival re-enactments even that place that Oduduwa origins, life & times within Ife.

Addendum: I am not & can never be in that place to tell people how they choose to employ their intellect. My kini with this page is that the methods be subjected to questioning such that Yoruba does not sink into the Ibo pursuit of Hebrew/Jewish validation. Whatever style is employed be it linguitic or historic or whatever, can the methods stand scrutiny & not fall on its face? Yoruba is & has been the source of pride for Africans & the reason for return of AAs - it is a force to reckon with in Africa. Should we subject it to ridicule a la the ibo, a culture with a rich history, having an almost embarrassing struggle for Jewish affiliation?
1. Contrary to your view, there is nothing like inconclusiveness in the Torah. The Torah was an oral account of the Hebrew Race, Spirituality, their kings, God and guideline to be followed as a chosen people from their perspective. And their fairy tale story of the parted Sea became popular amongst other Ethnic nations around them in Nineveh. And the Hebrew story were recorded in all Mighty Kingdoms during these different centuries. And on your assumption of Quran being more solid than Bible, only expose you more because, you are wrong. In fact, Prophet Muhammad, visited Rome, during his lifetime. So, quash such view because The Hebrew account being recorded are found be documented for over 3400+ years plus and the Quran that's about 1500+ years in total. Even the following kingdoms recorded the history of Hebrews in documented account, especially
through

(a). Egypt's pictographs-painting before Egypt fell to other kingdom

(b) Assyrian Tablets

(c). Persian Tablets

(d). Babylonian Tablets ,

(e). Greek account

(f). Roman account

(g). Arabs account

(h). Ethiopia's account.

How do you condemn what you don't know? .......

Archeologists claim with evidence that :

(a).Two Assyrian records corroborate Manasseh's submission to the Assyrians. "The name, 'Manasseh, king of Judah' appears on the Prism of Esarhaddon ... and on the Prism of Ashurbanipal" as among 22 rulers who paid tribute to Assyria ( The New Bible Dictionary, 1996, p. 724).

(b). Archaeologists recently found a clay impression from Jeremiah's time bearing not only Baruch's name, but apparently even his fingerprint!
Tsvi Schneider, who in 1991 served as assistant librarian at Hebrew University's Institute of Archaeology, writes about a seal with Baruch's name on it: "The first and best—known biblical name to be identified on a bulla [a lump of clay bearing a seal impression] is Baruch son of Neriah. Baruch was the scribe, loyal friend and political ally of the prophet Jeremiah. The inscription is in three lines and reads: 'Belonging to Berekhyahu/son of Neriyahu/the scribe.' The bulla refers to Baruch by his full given name ... Baruch son of Neriah, the seal impression tells us, was a scribe. Four episodes in the Book of Jeremiah mention Baruch, son of Neriah the scribe" (Biblical Archaeological Review , July—August 1991, p. 27).

2. Who were the people that Yoruba met with in the face of history? Plainly, Yoruba footprint appeared properly around 1000AD-1100AD and they met the Nok offshoot and push them inward.BORGU- NUPE,IGALA,IKA-IBO, part of IDU,Efik-Ibibio etc were older in Nigeria before yoruba emergence. For instance.

Archeologists claim with evidence on Southern Nigeria that :

(a) The Archaeological sites in the Niger Delta show that advanced economic development began much earlier there than elsewhere in West Africa. This is seen in early use of metallurgy. At one metallurgical complex, dated to 765 BC, iron ore was smelted in furnaces measuring a meter wide. The molten slag was drained through conduits to pits, where it formed blocks weighing up to 43-47 kg. The operating temperatures are estimated to have varied between 1,155 and 1,450 degrees C (Holl, 2009). Some radiocarbon dates for iron smelting in this region go back to 2000 BC (Eze-Uzomaka, 2009)

3. ILEIFE and NINEVEH meant a lot to the Yoruba memory and the Hebrews people that lived in Middle East, which archeology proofed it existed. The Middle East Nineveh was adorned in glory because it was all in all before it became a ruin after being invaded and burnt down.So if Yoruba attached spirituality to Ileife,it is only a reminder that the same was the way the Levant attached spirituality to Nineveh. After all, Hebrew's Adam, was said to be the first man on earth according to the Hebrew account . And this is what was said of NINEVEH

archeology claim with evidence that :

(a).The Assyrian Empire, with Nineveh as its capital, appeared invincible at the time. James Muir graphically describes this empire at the time of the prophet Nahum (668 B.C)

4. *‘The angle seems very interesting & compelling but to me, there are no sources to enhance such pursuit'.*

(a) There are sources but you just know but choose to ignore it because you find it unbelievable, in the same manner , Ooni Ogunwusi claimed Yoruba are more than 500,000,000 in the world. Only the spiritual minds and researchers will key into the saying of Ooni. To proof this, you need two among what I will mention, which are

(I) pictographs knowledge
(ii) Hieroglyphs knowledge

*‘What makes it worse is that there are oral traditions & festival re-enactments even that place that Oduduwa origins, life & times within Ife'.*

(b) Odu'a you have heard about didn't live in IFE Nigeria because there is no evidence to back it up. After all,his father's name and mother wasn't known. And the oriki that connects his descendants to him, acknowledged him as Adimula(Adimunia). Have you taken your time to unravel the meaning at all? Categorically, study has made me to know it but I won't share such on any forum but my book once it's available.

5. Shying away because Ibo claim Jew origin should not be the reason, for you not to give a look if indeed you are interested in this mysterious information. Take for instance, a man known as Ford, Arnold Josiah who was born in Bridgetown, Barbados, (23rd April 1877 and died in Ethiopia on september 1935 . He was the son of Edward Ford and Elizabeth Augusta Braithwaite. He was called Rabbi (Araba)

Ford asserted in the interview he granted that his father’s ancestry could be traced to the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria and his mother’s to the Mendi tribe of Sierra Leone. According to his family’s oral history, their heritage extended back to one of the priestly families of the ancient Israelites, and in Barbados his family maintained customs and traditions that identified them with Judaism (Kobre, 27).

This man sanctuary was visited by Jewish Rabbi and said, the mode of worship was the ancient way of Hebrew. Can a Jewish Rabbi be wrong? The choice is yours.

Omo ibo, what did you get your degree in, what was your major? Your case is worse than shallow, you are empty! Have you heard the word "adire" before? Do you not think the "addereth" of the Hebrews and the "adire" of the Yorubas is same, particularly in the context of that screenshot article ? Allright, where did you go to school? It can't be anywhere in Yorubaland. Jeezus!!! cool
grin where you cannot find yourself
OK im empty but to be honest you are not even on the table. Nairaland reinventive historians are your sources for everything you know about your people. There is nothing you know that didn't come from these two guys you don't even know, but you think you are a proper Yoruba man? Or boy in fact. Acting "Yoruba defender" on an online forum does not make you into a better Yoruba than someone else, so cut that omo ibo nonsense, it only shows how stupid you are.
Yoruba defender that doesn't know Yoruba history grin

Ponder on this

Japanese - Ie, otsuki, oka, kodomo
Yoruba - Ile, osupa, oke, omo
English - house, moon, mountain, child

Anybody can match up words, it's not a special skill so that addereth nonsense is just what it is, nonsense
Reason why macof has asked for etymology of words to decipher them

Instead of using your West Africa's Ibo, Fon, Ga etc to buttress your point why use Asia's Japanese that's within the same Continent as Semitic people ,grin ? I am Waiting for you to teach us on West Africa or Subsahara groups with even sparsely connection. grin

Funny enough, each yoruba word has accent to understand its meaning. After all, I did this with Hebrew cognates and her ancient writing form . So, be careful Oga teacher grin cheesy.

Japanese - Ie x grin
Yoruba - Ile,
English - house

Japanese : otsuki x grin
Japanese : Tsuki x
Yoruba : osupa √

English: hill
Japanese: Yama x
English : mountain

The letters in bracket aren't accented properly. accents on Yoruba languagewere shaped through French pronunciation. Though, it doesn't mean Yoruba language aren't filled with accents when pronounced.
And trust me, I have idea on French words and her pronunciation form. So, don't dare me.

2. Bárá l’ àb'élékún súnkún kí érú o bá élékún . Bí élékún bá n súnkún, Láàroyé à mà sún éjé' .(*edited*)

* I had edited it earlier but anti-spam Bot on NL can be a bit challenging *

3. Èsù Oníbodè, I know isn't from Kètú. Can you give, how that came to be? Although, ancient Yoruba names had Èsù, as a prefix to their names.
1. Mr. Olu, stop lying.. If you don't know something there is no shame in admitting you don't know.

There is a clear difference between "Ibì" (Evil) and "Ibí"(Birth). Ayé(life) and Àyè(Space)

Macof,
You said Ibi is Evil. No, Ibi is not Evil. Ibi is Harzard. I'm going to share somethings with you that Olu has already communicated severally but does not appear to be sinking in.

Do you know what "IPARADA" is? Iparada is the transition from one manifest to the other, the contradiction of self. The phenomenon of Iparada is deeper than words can express in native Yoruba, much more in a foreign language full of ambigous sense and meanings like English language. Yet, the English word for it is PARADOX. It is more than a physical transformation, it is native to the spirit, it is a phenomenon.

Look at these two words my brother...
1 - Ibi - Harzard
2 - Ibi - Birth

E ku "ewu" Omo o! Ewu is the post-state of the harzardous (Ibi) transition from foetus to baby (Ibi). The two processes are anchored in the word IBI. The root word I-B-I manifested here through a paradox or Iparada.

We can do the same for the word you threw out ...Evil. Evil and Live are paradox. One is negative, the other is positive, yet both are exact reverse of the other in spelling. You cannot have one without the other, they are interwoven and co-exist.

There are many examples like this in Yoruba, no need to stretch the imagination here.

Sir,
We have said several times on different topics that tie into the quest and they are all consistent with same theme, that this should be an open inquiry liberated from the formalities of academic and empirical proofing. Free-flow intellect and knowledge is what we need on this exploration, not conforming to some standards of academic rigour.

Since food has been introduced into discussion, let me use an illustration of my experience at a fastfood restaurant where I went for breakfast many months ago. I ordered sausage, egg and cheese on croissant from the menu and asked what the sausage meat was made from. She said it's pork sausage. I told I don't eat pork but would appreciate my order does not come with the sausage. She had to call the manager to ask how to enter that order and ring up my meal ticket. The manager instructed on what to do and turned around to tell me they just have to make the meal as it is on menu and when it is served to me I can throw the sausage away. Even when i insisted that I would pay the full price with the sausage but would prefer pork meat is not served with my breakfast, she did not know how not to serve the order without a pork sausage.
Both of them had been trained to follow process and regimen of their trade.....they do not know how to deviate from it. Their ingenuity had been silenced by the rigours of production.

This is an illustration of what I see in you guys. When asked to bring ingenuity into discussion you default to academic standards and tools of trade.

Ibì actually is anything bad.. Not specifically "Hazard"
The "Ewu" you mentioned is the yoruba word that best fit "Hazard"
The word "ibì" (Bad things) is opposite of "ire" (good things), and the saying = T'ibì T'ire ni à da ilẹ̀ Ayé (life is made in the bad things and good things) does justice to this

So while you are not wrong you don't do enough justice to the word "ibì"

You don't have to go out of your way to help Olu save face, because his blunder is not just about the meaning of the words, but not knowing which words exactly..."ibì" and "ibí" are not interchangeable synonyms

What are the disadvantages of not having a standard in a given discipline?

Olu317:

I have a strong theory on the following relationships:
Ad being Ado
Aramean (Iram, Aram) being Oranmiyan
Midian being Mondiana
Addud (Haddud) being Oduduwa
Haddud son of Ad, being Oduduwa son of Adimula
Jerusalem being Ijebu-Isale

If the Yoruba spelling and pronounciations are the authentic, then the foreigners got it wrong. They could not reproduce our tongue and thus mangled it into its Arabiced versions.

Aramean, Oduduwa, Obatala, Obalufon, Sango, Ogun.....and so on, are not proper names but titular of the position...just like the Greeks giving such names as Jupiter, Uranus, Venus, Thor, and so on.

I believe all faculties and discplines of progressing human evolution should have baselines. In fact, I am a advocate of using rules and procedures to displace chaos and confusion. Rules and procedures should be viewed as "taming". It tames "wildness", which happens to be the wellspring of creativity. The internet has progressed so fast and produced so much talents and turnovers in a very short time because many of the products upon which new-generation and emerging technologies subsist are derived from "open sourcing"....the wilderness! If the internet evolution is pegged to formalities of rules, it will still develop but not at the speed at which we have it, neither will it be this deep and rich in outputs. It is impossible to interact as we do here without some innate or unwritten knowledge of rules of engagement. In our case, each of us know what to expect of the other without it being explicitly demanded. This is the Omoluabi ethos. Within that concept is a package for respect, for truth, for moderation (no extremity or fanaticism), for acknowledgement, for character, for diversity, for enlightenement, and so on and so forth.
