All payments are done online, if I recall correctly.

Unless you are using VIP service at the center.

You are right..sorted now.

Hello elders and everyone on the forum. My name is adi

Thank you for this very informative and supportive thread. I am new to the thread but I have read from page 1.
Please may you help me, my question is my wife wants to sponsor me for spouse visa but she has been on statutory sick pay as a result she Earned less then the threshold amount last month. Does that mean we do not qualify anymore or is they a way around this ?

Please if anyone knows the answer to my question or has experienced this please help me
There is no way out. You guys just have to wait until you guys are able to meet the threshold amount.

What financial requirement category are you planning on using?
This would help to provide more detail on the best way forward.

Hi Oxygne thank you for your response.

We where planing on using category A.

My wife’s annual salary is 30 k but because she was sick it’s dropped one of her pay checks to below 1550 but it says on the payslip that it was statutory sick pay. As a result we are worried that they will count the lower pay check as the one that the home Office will use to calculate the financial requirement is this correct. In the guidance notes for financial requirements I saw something about a period of sick leave not counting towards the income requirement because I don’t understand the implications of this.

If that’s the case, I think you have to provide 12 months pay slip and explain in your covering letter(s) what happened.
Others can help with an answer as well. Do a good research as well. Wish you the best.

Hello everyone hope your day is going well.

I have just seen this in the guidance notes please may the house tell me if I am right but does this mean that any time you take as sick leave does not count towards the six months worth of payslips or one year if you are following that route ?

Hi @pleasehelpme2,

I think you found the relevant information for your category, kindly follow the instruction to a 't' (i.e. 12 or 6 months pay-slip & bank statement prior to her sick leave depending on how long your wife has worked for the employer amongst other things) and you should be fine.

I am glad we could help.

Thank you for all the help I will continue to do more research to make sure my application is full proof. I do have one more question I was denied a few Uk visas as a child but got them either on second attempt or on appeal. However after I finished my degree in the Uk I applied to extend it to allow me to do a masters but the rules changed and there was a 5 year limit imposed on studying in the Uk. As a result my masters would have put me over the 5 years so I left the Uk before my visa expired and went to study my masters in Australia the refusal letter says I had got all the points I needed but was only refused because of the 5 year limit, would this affect this application in anyway

Personally, I doubt if that would be an issue since I believe you did not contravene any rules or laws (as per the information above). However, if you are asked to provide details of your past refusals or applications in any of the forms be as honest as possible if it falls within the timeframe referred to in any of the questions.

As we all know, honesty is the best policy.

Thank you sir, I want to confirm, I heard that if I have a bsc degree in Nigeria I do not need to take the test of English exam, is this true? (Studied at Enugu state university of science and technology) read sociology

If I'm to take the test, pls wats the processes/ location and how much?

@justwise, your boy needs you o. I owe my last trip to you and I've never disobeyed your instruction, I need you again brother.

I've gone through this thread, took me like 2days but couldn't really find info on this, it was just mention here and there, guys please I need your help. Thanks

Lexusgs430:

1 - You can apply together, both of you have login access
2 - If you have a degree certificate, that can be converted through NARIC, go down the naric route. If not you need to do ielts test ( ensure you do the right one)
3 - TB injection
4 - Your bank statements not required
5 - read through thread
6 - it's about £2800 (when you add all bits )
7- Spousal visa

The information you require is plentiful on this thread. Are you sure you perused this thread very sober ?

Yes you do not need to take English test ........ You can take the gamble, by requesting Enugu state university to give you a letter, stating your course was conducted in English language......... Or not gamble, but send your certificate + transcript to NARIC for conversion.........

Get your degree certificate evaluated by U.K. NARIC or write an English language test. Contact your school to get your original degree certificate, transcript and a letter stating that the course was taught in English language.

You need to register an account with uk NARIC and upload those documents, make payment then they will post the evaluation report within a week to the address you registered with.

Or contact British council for type and cost of the spouse visa English language test.

@lexusgs and @justwise please i have some few questions,
* can I apply for the spouse visa alone? Or must my wife apply with me, she says she's very busy and may not have time to do so, that she will provide me with all what I need.
* Do I have to apply through TLS or I've to apply through the British embassy directly?
* can I book a flight after I have gotten my visa?

Please assist

She is very busy ? Does she want you in the UK with her or not ?

Would she also be too busy to send the documents to Sheffield?

So she would send all the documents to you in Nigeria, and you would post all the documents back to Sheffield?

You only submit receipt of payment and your passport in Nigeria, all other documents are sent to the UK ......

Is she funding this application or you are fully funding it ?

My point is, it's best both of you put in the effort to achieve a positive outcome.......

Are you using normal or priority visa?

And yes, you can book a flight (only after you have received the visa)....

You’ll send all you have after biometrics to your wife and she’ll add the rest and send everything to Sheffield.
If she says she’s busy, she’ll have to send what she has with her and you’ll post to Sheffield yourself.

You are not any of those, you know exactly what you are doing but lazy to read information here.

I replied your post before and told you to email or call British council for type and cost of the test but you did not do that, you came back to ask the same question again.

Many people here have been kind enough to report back and list steps and documents they submitted.

I'm more than happy to help when your question has not been addressed over and over again here

I know reading long pages is not easy but this application will cost you more than 1M naira and if you get it wrong you pay another one.
