Hello my peeps.
Respect to all the gurus in the house.

I am in the process of applying for 6 month uk visit visa and the application process seem too complicated unlike US visa which i did myself.

My questions:

1. is it possible for me to do UK visa application by myself without a visa agent?

2. I have completed the online form...stuck on payment. i have GTbank naira master card, can i pay with it and how much with their charges.

3. I have been on my cover letter for almost 2 weeks now, seems one needs a pro to handle it. pls i need a guru in the house that can help with this for a fee

Yes's, very very possible to apply without an agent.. I did mine myself. First timer ND I got it...Go through this thread from beginning ND it's get all d info you need.. Trust me..

As for the cover letter check from 400+ to 440 not sure though ND you will see a format for cover letter. That's what I used for mine.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by tasho105(m): 8:41pm On Oct 28, 2018
@ekpotek many thanks and God bless...you guys are making the process simpler for me by day

BUT

1. Are you advising i say no to "Other income" in the form?
OR should i put my bonus and commission as my 'other income'.

Can i present just the salary account because apart from my monthly salaries that come into the account and the 5x-500k self deposits and withdrawals, other transactions are 90% atm withdrawals and 10% pos. no transfers as i dont do online banking. The account seem too dry...hope the eco will not see it like that.

2. ok

3. ok no side biz.i better save the explanation.

Thanks once more for quick responses @ekpotek

ekpotek:

1. That’s good financial ties
2. Yes do that
3. You do not need to complicate your application by bringing in side business that you will find difficult to explain. Your income level and closing balance in your salary is good enough. Just explain irregular deposit in your salary account. Your unused USA visa has nothing to do with your application. So there is no need to offer an explanation.

@ekpotek I have a challenge, I applied for standard tourist visa. I did biometrics at TLS Ikeja since October 2nd yet no response from UKVI though I got a mail of applications receipt on 4th working day. I called UKVI twice on the 14th and 17th working days yet I was told no decision has been made. I asked them to escalate it when I last called on the 17th working day but the truth is that I'm bothered. It is over 18 working days yet no response from them and most people that apply around this time get response within 15 days.
What can I do to hasten up response as my time line for travelling is fast approaching?
Is the delay in response usually a positive sign or what?
Is anybody here with similar delay within this time frame??

Modified: Finally got my visa on the 19th working day. Decision was made on the 17th. Visa Granted. Na God win.

Hello House,

Good afternoon. I need advise please. I intend to apply for six months visa early next year. I don't believe I will have an issue with that as I have been travelling for over 20 years. In fact, I have applied for and got over 10 visas to the UK. I usually apply for six months visa as I don't like to waste money on 2 year visa.

My husband (who has not travelled in the last 9 years) was refused a visa in May - for some frivolous reason. Something to do with his source of income. I believe the major mistake he made was applying for two years - instead of six months.

Now, I want my husband, myself and our son to apply as a family early next year. We intend to travel for summer on vacation.

Please note:
- I have a good job and earn much more than my husband;
- My husband is self employed (what we call a business man) and earns an average of N6m per annum;
- Our son is 14 years old and a student. He has travelled to the UK four times - but has not travelled since 2014;
- We have two children currently schooling in the UK - I visit them at least twice a year;
- My husband's brother is a British Citizen and we intend to stay in his house when we get to the UK.

How would you advise us to go about this application?

Is there anything special we need to do? Especially considering the refusal my husband got earlier in the year.

Do you suggest I act as his sponsor and we attach a cover letter to explain his source of income?

Do you suggest I get my visa first and then my husband and son can apply for theirs?

Thank you for your advise.

Hello E_Family, I want to apply for uk tourist visa in Jan for a 6 day vacation alone. Married with 4kids. Have a house and 2cars. I work in one of the financial institutions. I have travel history to SA, over 5times in the last two years. My take home is 570k monthly. Because of an ongoing project, my account has always been on 0 before now but since September , I have been leaving 250k from my salary untouched so by Jan I should have 1.25m. Will the four month account statement surface for me? or must it be 6months.?. please check below my proposed frugal expenditure
1. Return ticket 250k. (£537)
2. Hostel for 6 Days@£28 (£168)
3. Food(B,L,D)@23.50. (£141)
4. Attractions/tourism@15/day. (£105)
5. Transportation @£7/day. (£42)
6. Miscellaneous (£250)
Grand total. £1,250)

This is just about my one month salary. Do you guys in all honesty think that this will fly?

Get a letter of invite for the course, and make sure its an accredited course.

Then make sure u have enuf funds, both with a bank cover letter and bank statement

A proof of ties back home, like family pictures, marriage certificate or a job is important,

and ensure a good cover letter, also explaining your finances, especially if there are some suspicious deposits or withdrawals in ur account.

U'll definitely be granted. Get a letter of leave from ur work place during the period and add a proof of actually having a job back home, and a letter of approval of the course from ur employer.

Hope this helps Chibabe4Christ!

your budget is on the high side. try to cut down some of ur expenses like food, transportation 20p should be ok, no need for miscellaneous during visa application.
just my little input.

Microfinance bank is a redflag for uk visa application... The Uk embassy have had issues with some microfinance bank so its not advisable.

it depends on where you are presently residing and what your occupation and income can afford
you could go for a flat, hopefully you get one as low as 500GBP. Houses are pretty expensive in the uk, very expensive compared to what we pay back at home. but it is worth it sha
