Fact is if we really wanted to we could have posted (unprovoked) many photos, videos and other content of the many many failings of the Nigerian defence force, we could've posted shot down planes and attack helicopters, killed soldiers, destroyed NA vehicles, videos of NA soldiers running away, news articles of Nigerian army bases captured by rag tag rebels(that's BH BTW) ect ect.........yet we don't out of respect for this thread.

Just an example: You post a picture of entangled SA paratroopers(Which was very interesting btw) Frum responds by how their training kicked in and they were able to untangle themselves thanks to their training, Nigerians respond with laughing emojies , asked why they are laughing YOU(even though you were not mentioned) respond by saying it's because of incompetence.....obliviously SAn respond and you play victim.

This is it true. Take for example one of their most recent displays of incompetence, which unfortunately resulted in a loss of life. I can't even begin to imagine what he would have said if those were SAAF aircraft that collided. I don't recall anyone who even brought up the word incompetent, when the video clearly demonstrated what is was for all to see.

Every couple months you read of Nigerian soldiers getting killed in groups of 5,6,9,11,13 or more. But we don't come running to post here to get a reaction. I will keep saying this over and over again, Henry grew up getting way too much attention. You can hear it in the way he thinks his opinion is that of the god's. But anyways, moving on.

Please do. Last I checked, this is African military and security thread, pictures and videos, good or bad are welcome. Nigerians have posted videos, pictures, articles @ bolded part. We do not post pictures that make our military look good. except videos of Nigerian soldiers running away, please don't be stingy, share.

I dont think Nigeria Machine Tools manufacture those plates from my simple google search. i assume they use "strike face" ballistic plates for their vests.

I appreciate this post. However, what was the response to my considered post on the paras?
All that I'm asking for is consistency on principles. By all means, do not put us on a pedestal simply because we've taken the uniform. Fair criticism is well and good, but gratuitous insults are beyond the pale. You will have noticed I and others have not gone the infantile route of posting the shortcomings of others.

If for example, you are referencing the Nigerian army during the pre-independence era, you are right to call them the Royal West African Frontier Force (RWAFF), but anything afterwards can't be separated.

South African military has been renamed a number of times ->UDF -> SADF -> SANDF

Finally, yes if you called black militants from the era "terrorists" you would be offensive. Equally if you called them "freedom fighters" you would be biased. Hence, they are militants.

"Strike Face" is not a company name - its an instructional guideline. It tells you which side of the plate must face "outwards". Its the "face" of the plate you want the bullet to "strike".

When bullets hit plates they normally shatter (Spalling) these shards are lethal, so the back side of the plate as well as the sides are designed to prevent these bullet shards hitting you - if you have the plate the wrong way in you will not get full spalling protection and will be injured if your plate is hit by a bullet.
