Thank you very much for your response. I really appreciate it.

I learnt another lesson today. When I informed my colleague about the leaking radiator, he asked if I added the coolant to the radiator when it was hot. I then remember that was exactly what I did. Never remembered that such could be a problem.

I remembered draining the radiator of the water which was already hot at that point and immediately adding coolant which probably excerbated any latent problem. He further advised that since my dashboard as not indicated an overheating engine, that I should save money by sealing the leak of at best, change the top.

As for the diagnosis of the rings, the mechanic workshop I usually take my car to usually suggest changing parts if it could be afforded by the client. I did not ask them why they suggested a change of rings but I will when I get back there next time. Although I suspect that since it is a very common issue with Camry 07 - 09, which necessitated an extended warranty from Toyota, Re-ringing of the engine was a fairly common solution.

Once again, thanks for the engagement.

Okay so you're going with number 1 replace the tank. Sealing some last long. I guess what I meant was did they actually take the engine apart to check the rings? What you described sounds like it would be fixed by valve cover gasket. If they didn't, it makes no sense to suggest that based on what you told me.

Before you go ringing, find out how that diagnosis came about.

Sure.. if you tell me what car this is

MobilityExpress:
Can I get an estimate labor cost for replacing/fixing the following at the same time:
- front lower arms
- front and rear stabilizer linkages
- front brake pads
- front and rear abs sensors
- front and rear disc plates
- front and rear brake wear sensors
- coolant expansion tank replacement
- steering wheel controls (fixing). The volume controls etc, stopped working. And when it works it fails or presses wrongly.

I already have the replacement parts. So just labor costs.

I should be available to visit your workshop say next week. Is there any procedure to it, or do I just drive down there any time I like?

Thanks once again for your attentive response. I have since changed the Radiator and was informed that the gasket was still good and was not changed. The oil stills shorts although I am watching to see if the oil reduction is abnormal.

Thanks once again.

Ever had an alignment on one of these? No? Well, for N5,000 you can have one at Rad Auto Works wink

Wireless imaging alignment. If your car doesn't drive straight after this, just sell the thing!

Hi radautoworks , I just scanned my car and got these codes:

P1734, P0780, P0756

I had no prior hard shift nor gear slip till this morning and it got worse within 10 minutes. Had to restart the engine before the gear could engage again. So I decided to scan it and voila, three codes from hell!

The gear was serviced two years ago with dw1 and still within the gauge limit, no burnt smell, and still pink/wine in color.

Can this be repaired, what are my options and how much am I likely spend on fixing this?

Honda Accord, '03, i4

Many thanks!

Would have to see the car. With those three codes would have to check a few things in person.

Good service earlier today at the Rad.

More impressive was the unexpected but quite welcome check on the fluids, brakes, etc. Saved me a potentially costly repair and let me know my brake pads are on their way out.

Please keep it up and strive to get better even

Hi
Is tap or bottled water suitable for diluting this concentrate ?
The instructions on it just say water but I read online that only distilled water should be used with cooling systems because dissolved salts in the others will react with the Aluminium and other metals in the cooling system.
