2006 Nissan Pathfinder

198k miles

Has transmission issue - Budget N300k - N400k for replacement if it cannot be fixed

N1.3m

A tear down and inspection to see what is wrong for this transmission takes 8 or 9.8 hours (N40-49,000) depending on whether it is rear wheel or 4 wheel drive. This inspection fee is applied to the repair so don't worry smiley

The repair itself might be as simple as an adjustment requiring no parts like the Ford explorer we previously posted in which case total repair would be about N60k shocked cool

Even if there were a lot of parts to be replaced, a full rebuild kit would be under 200k and you would have a transmission with a 1 year warranty for under 300k and no gambling with a transmission that may be worse off than yours cool

Before spending money on new ac components, if you have a small or slow leak, try this. It's a LOT cheaper than ac parts.

When we first told shops around us about this, they laughed and said it wouldn't work. Now, we keep running out of stock because they keep buying it!

Arctic freeze R134a (made by IDQ) with stop-leak N10,968 http://weblink.carquest.com/acl/?mfgName=QST&partNumber=RLS-134V

An alternative is Johnsen's in the blue can. https://www.johnsens.com/all/6540-r-134a-with-leak-sealer/ Performs almost as well as this and might be cheaper. We don't carry it but I think it's on Amazon and jumia.

Yup as long as it's not a huge one like going through a can in a week. Can also be used as preventive instead of reactive since they remain inactive until a leak shows up.

What would it cost you to fix auto transmission for a Mercedes Benz Vito MY 2003?

I was told it was driven from the Port to current location with little or no oil in the transmission.

Do give me options available to me.
Thank you

Hello,
To quote a transmission repair we HAVE to tear it down and see what's wrong first. For that year though, it's probably cheaper to replace.

I'm going off the dodge sprinter which is it's American counterpart. It's about 8-10 hours (N40-50k) to remove and replace the transmission. The sprinter uses 8.15quarts (N46,384) of ATF, plus whatever you can buy the transmission for.

I have to find what it would cost to get the transmission then.

Just like stop leak didn't work till you started selling it right? Get a life and stay away from me please. I don't want the lightning to strike me too when it hits you. Maybe finally sell that red Corolla.

While we are at it, stop leaks also exist for other systems and we have used them to save radiators, power steering pumps and even head gaskets and transmissions! If its an option, we offer it. If we don't offer it, it's not an option in your case.

To date, I don't think we've replaced any radiators at the shop.. if we have, only one or two. A NLer can attest to that as we've used radiator stop leak to fix their radiator in the past. We always try to find the cheapest way to fix your car permanently.

If I recall correctly I think we also used some on this car https://www.nairaland.com/4803326/misdiagnosed-weird-milex-carquest-rad/1#75273957

THE GOOD/CHEAP/FAST TRIANGLE

As I scroll through NL, I see that a lot of issues people have are caused by not understanding the above concept. This concept holds true not just for car repair but pretty much everything. For the cliff notes, look below. For detail, click on the link.

FYI, Rad Auto doesn't do the first one. There are kazeems for that.

Mystery power drain in a Toyota RAV4

This customer had changed his alternator, gone through two brand new batteries in four months and still had a battery drain problem. Car came in yesterday and took about 7 hours to figure out the problem. We stop charging at 4 hours (20k).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPpRFnfSuu4

As part of the repair we are going to return the car to factory wiring and reinstall his original alternator. The diagnosis fee will be applied to the repair
