Good day people. IMy kids aged 8.5, and 6 years respectively, fight each other at the least provocation. They fight over who lies down where, who sits where in the car, who uses the toothpaste first, etc. I came home yesterday and the elder (girl) had a bodily harm inflicted on her by the brother, and which is the second time she's getting a mark from him. As I write this now, they've been both grounded, since that yesterday, no watching of TV, no computer games, just sleep and wake up, eat and sleep again. I'm not sure how long we'd do this, that's why I'm seeking suggestions on how to stop the fighting madness entirely, thanks. 17 Likes 2 Shares |

RJ Bad parentingparenting. Get them to work with one bother so they can develop.healthy bond. Absentee parental.Care causes this or when they o to different families for vacation. Spend more.time.wit them.expose.them.to the word.of God Instill positive values correct negative values with love Sow good seeds in their hearts.  Op they are kids and its normal for them to fight. I remembered growing up, me and my elder brother always fought. Not once, not twice but everyday. My dad always tied us up in a bench and gave us 24lashes. But I'm all grown up, I can't even shout at him anymore. It's called maturity. So, don't worry, they'll over grow it. 139 Likes 1 Share |

Well... You have to set rules of seniority...who gets somethings first I.e. the firstborn should use the toothpaste first like the scenario you painted above.. Teach the younger ones to respect the elder ones....Do not hesitate to use a little spanking for Whoever is wrong whenever they fight.. .also when they are arguing, if you have the time.. Listen to both sides and pass an impartial judgment.. It makes kids know their place..... But have it at the back of your mind that they will outgrow the behavior .....however try and manage them for now For those saying use koboko... They probably don't have kids.... How many times will you beat the children.. Because children are always fighting amongst themselves.. Their own Fighting has to do with their level of maturity in letting some things go... OperaMini1: Word of encouragement It will soon pass. Growing up, my siblings and I fought....but nowadays, we are the best of friends (even have a joint whatsapp group). Thing is, kids fight...but so long as they love each other, the fighting is going to stop... My brother and I used to fight each other well well...but as we grew older...we calmed down. I can still recall the guy hugging me when I came home from my first semester of 200level with a gift for him (just a CD of songs...yet he was happy as if I bought him a record player  )17 Likes |

Beat that first born for harming his younger ones.. make him responsible for the household. There needs to be a cascade of authority.. the younger ones should know who is in charge when adults are not around.. and they must obey whoever is in charge.. Let them know that bodily harm is not acceptable no matter the provocation. Let the junior brother know that he is to protect her sister in watever circumstance and not fight with her. They are only burning excess energy. Get them involved in sports. Swimming, soccer and running track are good examples. By the time they engage in those they'll become too tired to fight over anything. When growing up I quickly recognised peers who indulged in athletic activities were always the most calm-headed. During our early teens when fighting was the quickest way to solve things they hardly engaged in such energy wasting activity. They were dedicated only to their sport. 17 Likes 3 Shares |

Is your relationship with your wife a positive model for them? Children are observant. You and their mum, should sit down with them and make it known to them that you are not happy with the way they fight each other over everything. Get them to do things together and get them to learn to take turns. They need to bond as siblings and if this is not nurtured during their formative years that hostility will carry into adulthood. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Pray. That's all Mum could do for my younger brother and I as nothing seemed to work. She even took our prayer point to Father Ede at Elele God could also give you ideas that work. |
