Everybody is not dumb compared to me. Most people are dumb compared to me. I have seen and met many smart Christians. The funny thing is that they don't come on Nairaland to make the kind of stupid arguments most Christians here make. A very good sign of intelligence is to recognise that u don't have a convincing answer to a question about your faith and admit it or avoid the answer altogether. But not the 50 kobo brains that litter Nairaland. They will either lie all day, say some useless unrelated nonsense or just threaten u with eternal damnation. Unfortunately, I do not have patience for such fuckery.

And did I hear u say "House of Christ"? A house with so many morons inside it cannot be called that. Let's address it by its proper appellation: A House of Morons.
No offense meant, but I have noticed you have an inclination to use foul words.

Did you fail to see the contradiction between your both paragraphs?

What's contradictory there? 100 is many. 50, 000 is also many. Take a guess which number I consider Christian morons.

By the way, if the 'smart' Christians you know had told you the truth in its raw form, they wouldn't seem so smart to you.

A truth is not in its raw form if u cannot back it up with proof. U can claim all u want that u own a pink unicorn that farts rainbows but even if u do it can never be a raw truth unless u prove it and bring the unicorn before us so it produces some iridescent flatulence at the very least.

Why is a fictional god that commands people to kill babies hard to love?

Quite frankly, the God you described here sounds just like a man. A creation of a human being with human frailty, emotions, jealousy and insecurity.
If you read the Bible and other religious books carefully you will see that the personality of the Gods described therein reflect the frailty emotions and advancement of the writers.
LOL. Did you think that human and angelic natures happened all by themselves? I know you do but that is not what Christians believe. Our natures were made to demonstrate some otherwise unknowable attributes of God's as far as it is possible for creatures to do so.

As for the writing of Scripture, you would say anything, wouldn't you?

Wow, u really seem peeved. You remind me of Saul of Tarsus, but I know that one day, GOD will touch your heart and make you stop looking for proof before you trust His judgement. On that day, you will go on your knees in awe of His Majesty. That is my prayer for you.

If it is a house of Morons, then Christians are by definition morons. Therefore, there are no smart Christians.

All the same, it only serves to show that you have a particular grouse with the Christian Faith so that your claim of only having something against "stupidity" not against Christianity does not count for much.

If it doesn't, there is a question why then you do not stick it out when you have "walls of text" facing you. Do you only look for Christians you can insult then?

Dear friend. I understand how you feel. Prayer is good indeed and I am encouraged to see that you repose confidence enough in the Lord to appeal to Him for their sakes. I would not discourage you from doing so but I would encourage you to remember that it is always a free will choice whether or not to believe in the Lord Jesus. So, it would be a good idea not to expect too much from either praying for antichristians or from debating with them.

As for stopping, this is part of my personal responsibility to the Lord. Not every believer has the spiritual gift for apologetics. I do. And I have a spiritual responsibility to the Lord to use it. Other believers who are seeking the Truth (and even unbelievers who are willing to be saved) benefit from the answers that I give in these conversations. So I'm afraid I will only stop when the time to do so is right. I do have a job to do as all believers do.

May the Grace and Peace of our Lord continue to strengthen and encourage you in the Truth.

Chemicals in the brain also produce the feeling of love and empathy. Does the fact the these feelings arise as a result of chemicals in the brain disprove the presence and profoundness of the love a mother has for her child even though one can't prove materially that the feeling of love exists?

I listen to music a lot. I've never felt that way before. And I've already described the way I felt. It's very different from the sensation I get when I listen to my best soulful songs.

When I was staunchly an atheist I didn't believe in the existence of anything divide and transcendent outside the scope of the material world and I certainly didn't consider myself inferior to it. This changed after my experience.
When you were a Christian, your spiritual side was fed with prayers, hymns, the feeling of community, the teachings and admonitions of the Bible and the church. As an atheist you abandoned all these and allowed your spiritual side to be malnourished and that is why you wrote that you felt a void within. At the Experience you reconnected with what used to be and you felt renewed again. However this doesn't deal with the fundamental question of the nature of the Bible God, the contradictions and absurdities of the Bible and the Christian religion.

I ditched Christianity about three years now but I have solid spiritual practices I engage in. I meditate frequently as a form of prayer and I always come out feeling refreshed and renewed; the energy and strength takes me through the day. In order words I still feed my spiritual nature.

The whole fraud of Christianity is the putting of a Christian label on natural processes and ascribing it to the Jewish fraud called Jehovah.

What you felt is not exclusive to Christianity. Hindus, Sikhs, shamans, Dervishes, Sufis, Buddhist monks have experienced profound and life altering moments of the divine.

For me the divine or the spiritual is natural and part of nature. It has nothing to do with religion or with the Jewish fiction. This energy, this ability, this reality has always existed and it's part of our nature. Religions are merely vehicles which man is constrained to use in engaging his spiritual side because he is still largely ignorant.

Take time and study the nature of consciousness. Google Rupert Sheldrake on the seven practices that makes for a happy life. Cheers

As at 2015 when I left Nairaland before returning a couple months ago, he was. We used to combat atheism together along with other names here. Many others over the years have also given up their Faith here. I know very few, maybe only one or two really, who were atheists from the time they came to Nairaland until now. Most of the atheists in this section started out as Christians and some of them were very visible too.

So u can write something this short? If u notice, I don't abuse Christians. I insult morons. Unfortunately it seems a lot of morons are Christians. Just this week I gave some New Age goat-fuckers a hot one on another thread. I also had a running feud with Babalawos while he was active.

The only dog I protect is rationality and evidence. There are some Christians here I have never attacked. That's because they admit their argument is based on faith and not evidence. They don't try to lie through their teeth like u do. And they definitely don't write meaningless long posts.

I said as much in that post u quoted. Any position one takes, one must be ready to back it up with facts. If u are going to claim u can raise the dead then be ready to actually raise dead people and not give excuses when called upon.

My belief is much close to deism. I believe something started this universe. That's thing could be the universe itself. I don't know. I believe we cannot wrap our minds around a concept like God. And from all evidence I can see, God doesn't care if u believe in Him or not. He loves variety. It is humans that care. No book, no matter what foolish lies are written inside and how long the book has existed, can tell us what God is. Especially if that book or its users claims it is infallible.

Everything must be questioned, doubted and proven. And anything that cannot be questioned or refuses questioning must be mocked. Knowledge is ever progressing. Any stagnant knowledge based on old parchments that disapproves of revision and cannot produce consistent results is antiquated and useless.

This is what I believe.
You express my sentiments. My God is the sun. It shines on and on. I see it, I feel it. I need no book, no pastor, no priest to dwell under its life giving rays. If there's one thing that proves to me that Christianity is a fraud is the fact that it is written in a book.
